TUONTO REACTS TO ARLECCHINO ANIMATION

The way I understood Arlecchino taking on the title "Father" instead of "Mother" is because the previous Knave "Mother" cared for the children on the surface, but was actually really messed up and cruel to them in reality. Whilst Arlecchino is the opposite, she appears strict and uncaring but secretly does care for the children of the house.

Apparently its more apparent in the CN/JP vers but Clervie is the biological daughter of the late Mother and I think its implied that she was getting beat by her (ai. the bandage scene), probably because she was seen as too weak to be the next "King" or successor. When Mother was talking about pruning the flower she was prob talking about Clervie

Interesting Detail :- Did anyone notice how her arms slowly develop the curse and turned dark as the short progress and eventually peaked during the end of the fight against the previous harbinger?

One easily missable detail is that Arlecchino still has a sword in her hand when Clervie drops to the ground with the sword stuck in her body. She didn't get stabbed by Arlecchino, she stabbed herself.

A few things I've noticed after rewatching a few times: - Clervie is denoted by a Lumidouce Bell, which we see on her necklace as a child. Later, "Mother" is holding a wilted Lumidouce Bell, remarking how "grotesque" it is and how she should have pruned it sooner. When asked if she agrees, Peruere flies into a rage. "Mother" basically said "My own biological daughter was too weak to be the 'King' and I find that disgusting." - Furthermore, the fight turns in Peruere's favor when she glances down at a Lumidouce Bell, still planted in the ground. After this moment, she adopts a completely different approach, countering all of Mother's attacks effortlessly before abruptly kicking her straight into the ceiling and effectively nuking the whole building as it falls around her. - The shot at 3:28 includes a sword sticking out of the ground with a Bulle Fruit on its hilt, possibly a memorial to the girl whose motif in the opening scene was the same. - I think Clervie took her own life rather than fight Peruere but it's hard to tell because of the framing. (My reasoning: The time jump shows Peruere looking shocked. When it is revealed Clervie is run through with a blade, we cannot see her arms at all which could indicate they are in front of her, holding the hilt of the sword. The blade that pierced her is covered with blood. Clervie falls, with Peruere seemingly not moving at all or removing the sword from the body. The next shot shows Peruere's reflection, still holding a clean sword in her right hand. Also, Clervie's last words are "I'm sorry...thank you" which are vague but could be interpreted as "I'm sorry [that it has to end this way]...thank you [for being my friend, and not stopping me]". But I can also see the argument she may have meant "I'm sorry [that it has to end this way]...thank you [for being the one to end me]", so that's more speculation on my part.) - "Mother" raised the children to fight each other so the strongest could be "King", but Peruere's title as the new Harbinger is nearly the opposite, a lowly "Knave".

I dont know why noone is mentioning this, but I always thought that you could see the Surprise in Arlechinno's eyes when her best friend is stabbed. I think she refused to kill her friend so she instead did the trope where she jumped into Arle's sword and that's why she said sorry and "youll be a great King"

i hope chat realizes that is NOT freminet at the end lol. he was already an orphan at the hearth under the previous director before arlecchino's succession. it's one of the most important pieces of information we know about freminet's backstory. also arlecchino's real name is VERY similar to the latin word "peruro/peruere" meaning "to burn up/consume" which i think you should add to the doc instead of the tweet you referenced, or at least alongside it!

Seeing a full 7 minute animation like this makes me extremely excited for the anime!! I just hope that we get a anime teaser before Natlan :]

also on the trailer for 4.6 arlecchino was fighting freminet lyney and lynette which i think goes back to her carrying on the 'legacy'

9:22 The entire reason she chose father as the title was to avoid remembering the trauma of what happened to her in her childhood with "mother", not to continue the legacy. while mother pretended to care while being abusive, father doesnt hide her intensions and wants to be transparent with what she will do as seen at the very end of the trailer. oh yeah i just saw u speculated the same thing in the docs in the pinned comment cool!

I hope they make more shorts like this! Even if they're only for the 5 stars, ngl I like the short teasers for characters but this animated format gives them more depth and story I'm also glad the first one we got is for Arlechinno! It gives her more story, instead of people seeing only one side of her, we see how she got to be how she is now

I am hoping Hoyoverse are able to keep doing animations for Genshin like they did with HSR

So the reason why Arlecchino's title is "Father" because she doesnt have a good "Mother" figure from the previous knave who is caring on the outside, but in actuality is pretty ruthless and abusive inside. So when Arlecchino took the throne of the House of the Hearth, she changed her ways of being cold and stern as a "Father" but still cares for her children

After rewatching a couple times one thing I noticed about the music is that the children’s choir only comes in after Arlecchino “locks in” aka fighting at her full power. I feel like it represents that she’s fighting for all the children.

Arlechinno LOOKS BADASS

It seems like the person that Freminet is "hiding" as mentioned in the 4.6 trailer could be Clervie. There's also a theory that the House of the Hearth used to be an orphanage for descenders and/or outlanders before Arlecchino made it into an actual orphanage as well as a mini-task force. This fact could explain why Clervie is involved in 4.6 considering Lyney, Lynette and Freminet seem to be able to see and help her. The animation also explains why Arlecchino refers to someone she wants to be the next 'King' of the House, turns out it was a tradition from the beginning. The orphanage-is-a-home-for-outlanders/descenders theory is something I'm unsure of, as I've only heard it circling around, but it COULD explain Clervie's existence in the 4.6 quest and Arlecchino's glitches (though, that could be from her curse).

I'm pretty sure Arle raised her children to be strong so they can survive the ruthless world they live in, not so they can fight each other to become "king" like "mother" did. She's strict and unfeeling, because her "caring" "mother" was a horrible person behind that facade.

I think she said strict and ruthless father because she wants others to know that she is strict and ruthless but from the inside she cares to be completely opposite of mother i believe that is correct.

So apparatnly Clervie and "mother" were biological mother and daughter which makes it even crazier

i cried a lot for some reason. it was so well made and so climactic! can’t wait for 4.6 now!!

It was always apparent to me that Arlecchino had some sort of history and trauma because she was always so intent with being called "father" instead of "mother"- my theory at the time was that it was a trauma trigger word, which turned out to be correct now with this animated short, its confirmed true Her "mother" appeared to care about the children on the outside, when in reality she didn't and all she wanted to do was raised a powerful pawn, and she made all the siblings fight and kill each other for the title of "King" and arlecchino turned out victorious, but had to kill her childhood best friend for it She realised how wrong it was after losing her best friend like that, and rebelled against "mother" And in the future ended up as a parent the complete opposite of her "Mother", while she was strict and unfeeling, she actually cares deep down and finally, she was jailed in snez for her crimes (killing the previous harbinger), where she finally sees the aurora which was what her and clervie had wanted to see together from the small window of her jail cell. such a bittersweet moment where she knows she avenged her and the other children, but she had witnessed it alone without her best friend like promised the way she sits on the chair in her jail cell is also an exact parallel to plushie arlecchino sitting on a throne atop other plushies in the beginning the huge amount of plushies indicates how many people she cut down to get there some details i would like to point out is that arlecchino's friend, clervie, was the "Mother's" biological daughter, who was abused by her for being too weak- that's why Arlecchino asks "Do mothers usually argue with their daughters?" we know this because it's more prominently said in the other languages and that clervie was all injured when arlecchino asked her that- it implies that the previous knave beat her own daughter The flower that was withered was the Lumidouce Bell which, in the archives, symbolises partings and the wish for reunion. It symbolises the dead promise that arlecchino and clervie made with each other to go see the aurora in snez, because one ended up killing the other due to "Mother"'s orders and it is also the same flower on Clervie's necklace. So "Mother" mentioning "pruning" the Lumidouce Bell before it withered is symbolically worse than initially thought. There is a cut to a sword with an orange ball after Clervie's death which might represent the unnamed blonde haired girl with the Bulle Fruit hair tie, so most likely all the other kids are dead too just like the storybook in the beginning foreshadowed. Arlecchino burying her pet spider at the beginning is a clear reference to her boss form which resembles a spider a children's choir started to sing when Arlechinno finally stood against "Mother" like all the kids unite to support her when she was losing in addition, one line in the song is about a bird flying free from a cage, which is a line that the mother uses against arlec during their fight "a bird tied down will never fly the nest" and the same song says to "free yourself from fate" or something along those lines, and my interpretation is that those are clervie's wishes for arlec even after death, to free herself from this tragedy of an orphanage could also represent arlecchino not continuing down this ruthless path that all the other previous "mothers" went down, and for arlec to be a parent to the house of the hearth that actually cares for its children

my theory is her curse grows when something dies. this links into her passive where it drains hp with bond of life or sum shi to do her pyro dmg stuff also when the flower + spider ded + all children = big black arm

7:04 I love how the comments suddenly shouted "SCARA" when they saw him❤😂 Also the part where Pierro is talking with Scara, Signora and Capitano behind him possibly means that they are the oldest one who became a fatui including Dottore and maybe Columbina BECAUSE if you look behind Arlecchino background of her banner, you can see the Snezhnaya logo that has fatui logos AND all those logos resembles each harbinger and we all remember that Childe was the first harbinger we fought then that means it started on the narwhal logo and then signora THEN SCARAMOUCHE and now ARLECCHINO so this MIGHT mean COLUMBINA IS NEXT😨

So Arlecchino's curse has nothing to do with the House of Hearth, interesting. I hope they give us some answers cos caterpillar's WQ had left us hanging for too long!

this animation was so fucking good and the fact that it was animated by ufotable is crazy bc this is literally a glimpse of what the genshin anime is going to look like.

In the very first scene you can see the children with different plant aspects in their clothing (the bulle fruit in the girl’s hair, the lumidouce bell on Clervie’s necklace) and at the end you can see the Bulle fruit with the sword signalling that that’s the girl’s grave, and “Mother” talking about the Lumidouce bell, saying it was withered, talking about how Clervie was not strong enough for her standards, which pisses Arlecchino off so she starts fighting. Also at the end, seeing the Lumidouce bell reminded her of her best friend, which gave her the power and hate for “Mother” to use her full potential to kill the Harbinger. So many cool details that paint an amazing picture of the story!!

9:18 my thoughts are Clervie probably stabbed herself for Arlechinno, because she said “you will be… a great King” sacrificing herself for Arlechinno so she could be king?? (I’m confused help)

I wonder how this ties back to the HotH lore we got this patch. It was originally created to find a descender, so maybe all the kids are "Outlanders" and "Mother" wanted to see who had the most power to become a "Descender" I like how you pointed out the lyrics about fate because according to what we know, "Outlanders" are just aliens that reside in Teyvat. "Descenders" have the power to actually change the fate of it, which means there's a chance Arlecchino might be one of them.

This animation rlly made me want to get back to learning the lore of genshin instead of just playing to get characters or for fun

What I understand is that, "mother" made the children fight for the title of "king" and arlecchino becomes the new "king". If you see in the 4.6 trailer, ferminent, Lynette and lyney are fighting arlecchino and lyney says "i am not saying i have all the answers, but doing so will only bring us further apart from being a real family!" After arlecchino said "I want you to become the next "king" of the house. Yet,you seem to have different ideas" I think he was referring to that the fight will cause death and pain and that it's not worth killing/fighting your family for a title. I also speculate that clervie is the real daughter of "mother" seeing how they look so alike

Arlecchino calls herself Father coz ofc her "Mother", u get it. She also stopped the cycle of those children from the previous Knave giving them to Dottore to be experimented. She actually cares about her children and probably the only thing she do in the Fatui Harbinger is to serve Tsaritsa (by getting the Gnosis) and using the children to find intel about the person she's been looking for which were eventually found by Freminet (this was said in the trailer). I'M SO EXCITED FOR HER STORY! I HOPE SHE COMES HOME HUHU FATHER PLEASEEEE! NATASHA, RAVEN, ARLECHINNO!!!

The fact that the devs actually considered this is absolutely amazing, it really gives out a lot of lore that we might now get in-game. I knew there had to be something about the name "Father" and the role of "The Knave", I had a thought about the previous Knave being called mother or even the Tsaritsa having the nickname. Now that also makes me wonder, we get many sneak peeks of the harbingers, but nothing about the Tsaritsa. All we know of her is that she is the cryo archon and the last we will meet in snezhnaya, and with the fact that there was 2 knaves, what if there one's that took the place previously before "mother", and took care of the house of hearth, too. This really can be brought to theories, especially ones for the house of hearth and the harbingers in general. As for an example, was there previous harbingers for each role before Tartaglia with the same codename? Were there any other Pierro's? It really brings the same questions back and forth imo.

So basically, The House of the Hearth was led by The Knave “Mother” who also had a biological daughter, Clervie. The goal of the House is to raise the children so that they will fight each other to the death when they grow up to become “King.” “Mother” abused Clervie often, hence the many shot of bandages, and didn’t care if she died. In the end, Arlecchino had to kill Clervie and also took out “Mother,” becoming the new Knave “Father.” There are also some theories about Arle’s curse but I don’t know too much about them unfortunately.

the curse which is her arm turning dark....it looks like that NPC hilichure from fontaine world quest caterpiller he has the same dark hands...maybe they are related somehow? i skipped this world quest but i know after that caterpiller is MADE 400 years ago in game lore

The title of 'king' is not a harbinger title, it was basically a program to produce great Fatui soldiers. 'Mother' was not supposed to die and be replaced, hence Arle's crime and pardon by the Tsaritsa. Also, rather than being publicly warm and caring but privately cruel like 'Mother', Arle took the title of 'Father' to flip the script, renouncing her own mentor and hiding her warmth for the kids by being outwardly cold and strict. I also doubt she'll actually kill one of her own during the story quest, most likely she will renounce the House of the Hearth and put it out of the reach of the Fatui and in the care of Fontaine and Neuvilette, hence the comment from Arle to neuvilette in the 4.6 trailer about the 'tainted cup' that Arle will cleanse.

Stop because when you said maybe they'll make someone die... What if it's Lynette because Lyney's already going to be the next "Father" and if he watched his sister die that would puss him like over the edge.... Just a thought... 😨

i don’t think arlecchino intends on carrying on the tradition that she found herself the victor of. i think she saw how traumatic and terrifying it was, and unlike her “mother,” she does care for the children she raises but she puts on a tough and unfeeling front(not to say that she isn’t still crazy like scara and childe say, she probably is). But the fact that she was forced to kill one of, if not her only friend, and was clearly traumatized by it, it doesn’t seem likely to me that she would inflict the same pain on children she cares about. And that ties into why she is “father,” she doesn’t want to be like how “mother” was. she wants to be the opposite. also this shirt was SUPER gay and i love it doomed yuri is my favorite

But that's the thing though. Unlike 'Mother', she became the 'Father'. 'Mother' was warm and gentle on the outside but was ruthless on the inside. Compare that to 'Father' who is strict and uncaring on the outside but always teaches her children to survive instead of killing each other. I suppose the change in title from Mother to Father implies change from one king to a true family that the Hearth was supposed to be?

What's crazy is that her weapon is a scythe which is directly associated with the grim reaper and death, so this means it is a manifestation of all her family/friends she has to kill to become king. Hence the blood debt 😶 I'm not gonna lie but this is sickkkkkk!!!!

The Fact Arle was a teenager and kicked a damn HARBINGER into a roof and killed her is actually embarrassing

Oh!! So that's why that Mother's intonation or way of speaking speaking reminds me of like one of those maidens, crystal, mirror, the likes. I haven't gotten to that part yet about her lore, so seeing this animation made me excited to learn more. The animation is so cool!!! I really hope the children would really be able to break whatever curse there is. Also, her arms!!! So much lore!!

The reason why Arlecchino had to kill her “sister(the pink haired girl)” was because at the start of the animation, it said that you have to kill all your “brothers and sisters” to become “king” The reason why i assume they are said to be brothers and sisters is because they all call the lady “Mother”, which is why i also referred to Arlecchino’s friend (i guess) as sister.

i think crucabena might be the 10th harbinger... since the ranking is by their power... also probably someone ranked them after the last harbinger was recruited... so by power levels obviously peruere is stronger that crucabena by alot...

The Knave seemed sweet and caring on the outside, while she didnt care for the children at all and just wanted to kill all the weaklings and raise the one true "king". Arlecchino took the title of "Father" because it is the polar opposite of what "Mother" was. Arlecchino is cold and strict on the outside, but only because she wants truly the best for her children; she loves them deeply on the inside. Well thats my take so idk

I don't think she will continue to this legacy, but will do something as wrong but in other ways. I think she will just make her children fight herself to death, but then the Traveler will save them and fight arlecchino.

The title should be GENSHIN HAS NOT DONE THIS BEFORE we already got 3-4 HSR Animation short

The only thing I don't like about this is that it shows Scaramouche at the end... even though he erased himself from all recollection (outside the story crew) during the events of Inversion of Genesis

*11:07* my take on the reason why Arle refers to herself as father and says she'll be strict and unfeeling is because the previous harbinger called herself "mother" and probably raised the kids with " love and kindness " but she only ever hurt all the kids in the house of the hearth. so are took on the role of "father" and "strict and unfeeling" as way to present herself as a direct opposite of "mother". "if you who represents love does nothing but hurt people, I shall be hatred and do nothing but save people" something like that?

Arlecchino (Perruere) have black hand and curse like Cattepillar. Her friend which she kill will appear in Arlecchino quest.

Is she repeating what the former Mother did? in Lyney's voice line he says that Father wants him to succeed her and we also hear in the trailer Father telling Lyney that she wants him to be King. I don't think she's repeating what the old harbinger did but instead maybe challenged her Children to test if they're ready to take over or something

her friends necklace is the same flower “mother” prunes down. also the same flower which will be arlecchino farming material which is interesting yet sad.

Am i the only one who thinks this is very similar to the part in blackclove, where the same thing happens in the diamond kingdom and the girls even says she would've love to travel together but the boy kills her in the final battle to prove he is the strongest.😅

well, the way arlecchino is standing was more of a none fighting stance and I think that. her freind killed herself on arlecchino's blade so she didm't kill her self as she says "I'm sorry" as if she did it herself

its so cool that hoyoverse is creating animation such as this, i hope they make more in the future, for future characters even though its gonna cost like a whole ton of money. also, seeing how well made this is, along with how it touched the viewers heart makes me so inspired to continue pursuing art, especially in the field of animation, from dc btw!

HSR has been favored for so long, this short animated of Arlecchino will be a testament to genshin's return, she is a great Father!

Is it me or does arlecchinos “curse” remind me of “caterpillar” or from that one Fontaine world story quest ?

This is similar to a Japanese movie called "Azumi"....the concept I mean.

I think the siblings said that when arlechino take charge the rule change from die for the house to cherish your life, she is not continuing the game. This much is confirmed
