My theory: The crooked man is actually Sissi’s ex, he also is the one in David’s walls. This would explain why there are notes about the crooked man in David’s apartment and also the writing on the tv looked vaguely similar to the writing that can be found in the hotel. The reason I suspect that the crooked man is Sissi’s ex is because I think that Sissi and her ex broke up at the hotel, Sissi then left and her ex was left in the hotel with nowhere to go. It might sound a little far fetched but I think that he grieved and cried as shown by David hearing the sobbing at night and that caused him to go insane and become “the crooked man”.

this reminds me of a bunch of games i played, one was called 'the crooked man and the crooked cat'. it was a bunch of story games that i played on the ipad, i think the company was big fish games or something. the story and music was really good, and i really enjoyed the puzzle part of it and there were many different games in a similar playstyle but i never got to the end of the stories because you had to pay T-T
