If anyone is asking yourself "why did he release two episodes over the same thing?". I release an entertaining version and a then a purely educational version in a how to format that will be useful for much longer than the educational episode is relevant! Thank you for understanding, I try to distinguish them enough that you could watch both without being bored!

Just as an example of why I always torque to spec, the only time I ever didn't bother to pull out the torque wrench was when I put in the bolts for the front calipers. I just made them "tight" and within a day of taking the car out one of those bolts fell out and I had to get towed 40 minutes home

I never use a torque wrench for things like brakes which is fine if you know what your doing. However over torquing things can be bad and stress bolts and make them snap in some cases

Have done it twice. It needs 290NM (~213ft lb). First time i searched for a self-help workshop, which has a torque wrench that fits. second time they told me before, they had one, but they didnt. So i gave it max. torque with their wrench (180 lb ft), an then turned a little bit more. Didnt like that. I think i ll buy a torque wrench that fits for the next time.

it's easier to roll your vehicle by just moving the tires by hand... no need to huff n puff, or start the car. thanks for the video, doing this job soon on my JDM 320i

hopefully that spindle shaft that the bearing just fell off of isint screwed up. the bearing should not come off that easy. it is NOT a good sign. you really should have torqued at least the wheel bearing nut. too much torque and it will stress the bearing and cause it to wear prematurely. car is looking good tho, keep up the good work.
