karl schweizer haha thanks man! Just watched this the other day again. Missing the hills more this season it seems, need to get a sled for next year I think.
It's a wheelie machine derbin! It's tons of fun as a boondocker the way it is, but if a guy wants to climb stuff, it becomes quite an animal. I'm on a stock 08 skid, with extensions, and garbage shocks and rocked rails so it is what it is. Flat rails on the newer skid, decent shocks and setup would probably make it awesome to ride. I'm trying to find a skid that will keep the fun, easy to boondock feel, that you can still control in chutes.
Wasn't the sleds fault. Found a bent pin in the auxiliary injector harness. It would make contact when it felt like it. Runs strong now, other then when I hit the rocks!
I think it was that final let-go of the throttle just as you was near the top. If you had lets say 40mph track speed even just letting it go down to 30mph by releasing the throttle a bit, would cut the kinetic energy you get from throwing snow, in half. Kinetic energy is the square of velocity and only double the mass, so if you throw snow faster you get more forward force.
Seems like you're doing ok keeping the front end somewhat down!? I just bought a 2010 nytro 162 with the impulse turbo but everything else is stock and everyone is telling me I will have a really hard time not wheely'n too much in the steep country. People are tellin me to buy the m10 suspension but I think I'm done spendin money on sleds this year. What are your thoughts? Looks like you run the stock rear suspension just fine...
This thing takes lots of throttle work to keep the wheelies somewhat contained. Half the day it kept poping and farting so it was a real bitch to ride. Had I been thinking about the line rather then if it was going to run, or stumble I could have kept side hilling over to the right. Makes for a fun vid I guess!
*All you had to do was hang on tight and it would've pulled you right on top!!! I know it seems scary but it's better than chasing your sled down the hill and possibly damaging it!* *_Great climb though!!_*
Keith Good thanks man! it didnt look as bad in pov, but if I stayed on er it would have just come over backwards on me haha. That skid/rail combo wasn't a productive climber, but it was amusing! I have pics of it coming over backwards and driving me into the ground like a spike lol
+CoxyRoller from the sounds of the motor it didn't sound like you had all the top end rpm you normally would've. Any ideas what was off that it wasn't running right
+acewipes yessir. I spent a week fighting with what I thought was a tuning issue. Turned out I had a bent pin in the auxiliary injector harness, so it was only firing 2 of 3 injectors under boost. You're right though, it was a frustrating turd on the top end there.
Friend of mine has a dairy in Michigan and they have around 20 sleds, some they race. The one is a Ski-Doo pushing over 750hp. Fast as fuck. Mean as hell. Still sounds like a weedeater. Just cause it sounds like a weedeater doesnt mean it isnt nasty.
if im correct the turbo runs off your exhaust, there for the turbo system replaces the stock exhaust so this sled wont have like n MBRP or anything, its the turbo system
Pretty much bang on. Header to turbo, then about 10" of pipe and dumps into the tunnel. It's a bit loud just blipping around, but loaded up throwing snow around it's quite tame
