It's absolutely wild, for sure. I love what they do, and this is right in line with what I'd expect from them. Worth giving it a go whenever you're back on the beer, Dan! Cheers!
Yeah, buddy! That tornado was crazy. Don't typically see that stuff in Buffalo, but I know the Midwest is used to it. Love me some 3 Floyds, for sure! Cheers, man!
I hope you ran for cover Joseph. Its funny, every time I see a review of a WC style beer from outside of CA Im like "ohhh, I'm interested in this" and then I watch, and listen, and remember that no one is touching the WCIPA I can get local, so I don't have to worry about seeking these out, haha. :D
How dare 3 Floyds threaten me! Yeah, if I lived in California, I probably wouldn't drink West Coast IPAs outside of the state aside from maybe a few other breweries. Just doesn't make sense when you have so many good ones locally. For what this is, however, it's pretty solid. Doesn't compete with the big boys, but for a shelfie beer around $12-13/6 pack, the value is there. Cheers, Joe!
3 Floyds makes solid beers. I have had this one a few times. It was well done, but its not a crazy beer. if it wasn't for the ABV this would be a decent session beer. cheers1
Agreed, Anderson. Nice beer, but nothing amazing. Definitely more sessionable, and if the ABV was lower, it'd be even better. Glad you dug it, as well. Cheers, man!
Only ever had zombie dust. I do prefer my westys clear. At least its not that dark bronze color. Im good with this aroma. Citrusy and tropical. If the bitterness dies down like the juiciness, i couls prob deal with this.
This was pretty good, but not the best WCIPA. Have you had Gumballhead? That was the other popular beer from 3 Floyds for many years. They brew some fantastic beer, but this was a tier below their typical offerings. Cheers, Chase!
I’ve literally got this sitting in my fridge right now. My Dad gave me a can and I’ve yet to get to it. Haha. I don’t think it’s the freshest thought so I don’t think it’ll be a fair assessment whenever I try it.
Awesome that your dad gave you a can, but it's a shame it's older. Still should be decent. Had no idea they released this one until I saw it in the cooler at a beer store. Pretty damn solid, though! Cheers, Curtis!
@@averagejoe716 I don’t know that I’ll check it in because I don’t want to give it a bad score due to age but I’ll let you know when I try it how it held up. Honestly it’s kind of crappy but if it’s not very good having some age on it I’ll probably drink a bit and dump the rest. I know it’s wasteful but it’s not like drinking beer is good for your health so I’m not going to drink something I dislike. Lol. Who knows though. Maybe it held up better than I assume it will. Like you’ve said, breweries are getting better at having them last longer, although 4.5 months is kind of a lot to ask.
I totally get drain-pouring a beer. Life is too short to drink/eat anything you don't find palatable. I've drain-poured my fair share of beers to not waste calories, or just because I didn't enjoy the taste. Thankfully, it doesn't happen often. Just let me know what you think, even with that significant age on it. I'd be curious.
