not very impressive considering in 1955 the Australian built Chamberlain Champion tractor (6g with a diesel perkins L engine) The first one was modified by the factory to change the gearing and front brakes added, (No other mechanical modifications or turbo) it would do 110 km hr 70mph, in 1957 it was used as the recovery vehicle in the Redex Round Australia rally, a distance of 18,000km (11,140 miles) in 19 days., and completed the rally keeping up with the race cars, it towed up to 6 broken race cars at one time and pulled many bogged ones out. It became known as "Tail End Charlie" and is in the Tractor Museum of WA. The following 1958 model 9g Chamberlin was very popular with a factory top speed of 50 km hr, 30 mph.
@@harrimanfox8961 still holds as that record was in snow and in stock tractor. with can be used in farm, hauling or other construction work. this tractor cannot used on anywhere else than speed record. BTW definition of tractor: A tractor is an engineering vehicle specifically designed to deliver a high tractive effort (or torque) at slow speeds, for the purposes of hauling a trailer or machinery such as that used in agriculture, mining or construction.
As you are American I feel it’s my duty as an Englishman to inform you that hieroglyphs are images and not a language!! Very cool achievement. The thumbs down is for the noise and all the epileptic camera switching. I’d like a camera just in the cab, and only with the sound of the tractor. Then maybe another to the side of the track so we can hear it from outside.
Hochachtung! 166 km/h (103,6 mph] ist schon ein Wort. Gibt es dafür auch Pflüge, Kreiseleggen und Mähwerke? Aber eine Anhänger für Transportaufgaben müsste es doch geben? Respect! 166 km / h (103.6 mph) is already a word. Are there also plows, power harrows and mowers? But a trailer for transport tasks would have to exist?
Reminds me of that Real Engineering Video about why Airplane Tires don't explode upon landing... In it, he keeps comparing about a Tractor landing and running off at that speed _"If a Tractor would exert such forces on its tires you'd be doing something wrong"_ Clearly, neither the Real Engineering guy or the Driver of this Tractor have watched the other's respective video.
what makes tractor a tractor? edit: i mean, is it the ability to plow through fields and being able to attach all kinds of extensions to it? or does it just have to have 4wheels and a cabin?
In my opinion, this was a tractor. Now it's a fast machine that looks like a tractor but not be able to do the things where it was meant for from factory
My car (Volkswagen Jetta) identifies as a tractor. It was assigned the wrong vehicle identity at time of manufacture (leaving the factory) and therefore is eligible for the World's fastest tractor.
“ a powerful motor vehicle with large rear wheels, used chiefly on farms for hauling equipment and trailers” From google.Even though I disagree with the Large rear wheels bit as there are many tractors that have all the same size wheels (mb tractor, fastracs)
My highest in a car was only 141kph. Mainly because of the car price here. If we could get a better car with that price then that would have been a lof faster.
