Interesting tech. With a bit more engineering could be completely automated, insert "decoder", start and it just mirrors the key. That would be a lot faster and if implemented correctly could record the positions. Also, for usability, you need to create a multi prong reset key to enable quick resetting.

guys don't get this video wrong. this is not for stealing a Mercedes. It is used to get the "mechanical" code of the key and then make 2 normal keys for the Mercedes that you have ALREADY STOLEN without changing the locks. 95% of the Albanian Mercedes have their keys made with this tool! HAHA
ITS BMOOO its not ment for theft its ment for insurance companies that cover owner in policy for a lost key just to get them in and home thats why they said at end it get put in to a machine to cut a new key then they would get in use the 16 pin conector with computer and program a new key to the car rendering the old key unuseable

In Germany its not that easy. If the side windows arent exactly clear it might be illegal to get them laminated. Cause they say that the glass wont let through the required amount of light. A friend of mine had to rip everything off, otherwise the cops wont let him go and the car had to be on a trailer. Its was a transparent foil, not any color in it.

Abdullah Rafeeque You cannot hotwire a modern car. There is an immobiliser. What this means is that the car cannot start unless the key it has been paired with is in the ignition. There is a chip in the key that the cars ECU detects. If the chip isn't there, the car won't start.
