One of my favorite unknown symphonies. It is so nice to finally see the score. I had always wondered how he got a symphony to sound the way a Tim Burton movie looks (I think his extensive use of mutes in the strings is at least part if it). Can you post my favorite unknown symphony, Adolphe Biarent’s d minor symphony?

I have not been able to find a score either. What about his cello sonata (one of my favorites alongside the Barber and the earlier of the two Faure cello sonatas)?

I first heard a few minutes in a Radio program, before the Google/Wikipedia area. When I heard the entire symphony, I was blown away. Critics called it 'terribly inflated', but I don't care. It may sound rather banal (if you know what I mean, ha ha), but I've listened to this so often and always smile.

A great symphony! Inventive, interesting, and thoroughly satisfying, with an especially gorgeous "lento", and effective writing for horns. The passage beginning at 8:38 is reminiscent of Bruckner.
