Mmm, it looks very, very delicious 😋😋😋. Must try 😀. My mum also did potato patties of leftover mashed potato. Love it. Hugs and nosekisses from me and Nikki 🐾🐾 💞💞
Back home the lady that cooked for my grandmother taught we girls how to make Turkey Bodines after nog holiday turkeys. It was our great-great-grandmother’s recipe from the beginning of the 20 the century. A friend recently gave me an antique cookbook from Great Britain published in 1862. It had a receipt very much like a combination of this recipe and our great-great grandmother’s. It was called Turkey Timbales! Love love watching you share your recipe and showing how to make it. Can’t wait until our next big turkey!
I made some and froze them after breading them, and just heated them in the toaster oven, they are so good!!! You dont even have to fry them they are so good. Thank you for the recipe.
Your mother made them just like my mother made them. I love them and don't know why they went out of fashion. I predict that they are about ready to make a comeback. Some hotshot young chef at a fancy restaurant will start making them and before you know it, they'll be all the rage. 😀 I hope so, because they're so good.
I am happy to hear your Mother made them the same way. I hope your prediction will be right as I love them also. Thank you for watching and have a good day👩🏻
Hey Grandma, I just finished making these croquettes and they are chilling in the fridge before I pan fry them. Brings back fond memories of my Nana and my Mom, thank you for sharing your recipe, not much difference between the way they made them, but I am a little tired from the cleanup. Take care and be safe!
Hi William I am happy to hear you made the croquettes and they are chilling. Yes the cleanup can make you tired. It’s like grocery shopping I like to do the shopping but not fond of putting everything away. I hope you enjoy the croquettes👩🏻
I LOVE this idea. Croquettes is a word from my Nan's cooking but during these lean times I think this would be perfect for the pickings of a roaster chicken and leftover mashed potatoes. This and a side of veggies makes a nice cheap meal! Thank you!
How are both Grandma and Grandpa? I am up here from down south as we lost a family member to COVID. It’s been a horrible week.. good to see this recipe as I was just talking about chicken croquettes that we used to eat at the diner that my grandparents took us out as kids. So now I’m going to have to try these. I think I’ll use chicken . Thank you so much for making it and sharing it with us and happy holidays to you both.
We are both fine and so sorry to hear about your family members passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. It’s fine using chicken when making the croquettes. Thank you for watching 👩🏻

Glad to hear you will be making the Croquettes. We had a lovely Thanksgiving and we are looking forward to Christmas. Once December arrives the days go by so fast. Thank you for sharing about your Mom making potato patties. I will definitely make them when I have leftover mashed potatoes. Have a very Merry Christmas Love Grandma & Grandpa👩🏻👨🍳

Hi David thank you for sharing about adding a piece of cheese in the middle. I will do that next time I make it. Thank you so much for watching and have a good day❤️Grandma👩🏻
I'll be making these in the near future. But I'll be serving them with a little gravy. LOL Wish I disliked gravy like your father. Glad you shaped them like you mother did. I love collecting vintage recipes. I knew Grandpa would like them.
We ate them alot my Sister is 9 year older than me, Beverly and Mother did all the cooking. I didn't have any responsibilities. I was 3 or 4 years old. It was in. 1956 or 1957. We were poor but I never remember being hungry. GOD is Good.
The blue dishes were my Mother’s and she had them packed away in boxes. She used them everyday when I was a child. Thank you for watching and have a good day👩🏻
Pretty good. I eat a lot of chicken. Your dad didn't like gravy? How sad. Merry Christmas season. You might not celebrate Christmas so whatever you celebrate let that be your happy season!!!
A friend and I were just last week lamenting that turkey croquettes no longer seem to be the ubiquitous diner dish they once were. You could always count on seeing these cone-shaped delights at every NY/NJ diner, year round. Now we have to make our own. Thanks for an easier recipe than the one we've tried in the past. What a production that one was! A very happy holiday season and early Merry Christmas to you Grandma, Grandpa, and all the ferals!
Hi Patricia Now that you mentioned it I have not seen croquettes on any diner menu. I am glad you like the simple and easy recipe. I know some are much more involved in making. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and A Happy Healthy New Year❤️Grandma👩🏻&Grandpa👨🍳
@@GrandmaFeral PS, I just checked: the Modern Snack Bar in Aquebogue still has chicken croquettes on the menu. Probably still since the 1950s.😄👍 Didn't check Golden Coach here in town, but didn't notice any last time I was in there. Hmmm, maybe Golden Dolphin (if they're still with us)? [Edit: Just checked: Golden Dolphin sadly defunct; now space holds the Golden Globe, and no croquettes of any kind on the menu.]
I've always made these as a single parent of two in my younger days kids in 30's made croquettes as a left over meal it went miles. I think my kids looked forward to croquettes more than left over plates. Today my kids drop off left over chicken and have me make them for freezer meals for them. Welcome to gammy world
Can I skip the flour and put the croquette right into the egg and then the breadcrumbs? Would it change the taste? I remember my Mom making these after Thanksgiving but she made them round.
I think this is the fifth video I've seen and I'm just crazy in love with you guys! Look at you with a whole youtube channel with thousands of subscribers! You are simply delightful! Thank you for your content! We really need to know how to cook economically in these hard times!
Thank you for your kind words. With the prices rising in the supermarkets we wanted to show how you can make inexpensive meals. Since my Mother and her family went through the Great Depression so she taught me how to make many economical meals.❤️👩🏻 & 👨🍳
They're like a lil roast dinner. I've seen them sold at the supermarket but didn't know what they were, I could make twice the amount for the same price. Next time I have leftover chicken I'll make these. Thanks Grandma.
You will enjoy the chicken croquettes. I am glad you now know what they are. You can make many meals cheaper than what you would find sold at the supermarket. Have a very nice day❤️Grandma👩🏻&Grandpa👨🍳
I have never tried breading them with stuffing but maybe you could place some stuffing inside the croquettes. Either way it would be good. Thank you so much for watching👩🏻
