Thank you so much for your uplifting words.... Even after 100 reports, I seem to have no power to get seen more. So all I can do is continue with very good content - and hope that eventually many people will share it and make my channel more visible. Thank you very much again! Check out the videos of the past 12 months - there's lot of really good reports waiting for you 😊 Cheers from Germany Chris
I agree with you 100%. Maybe it’s being an extrovert who thinks privacy is over rated but I enjoy both Turkish 777 and the 787. I suppose maybe as a solo traveler I would prefer the 787-9 but when traveling with a companion the 777 is great too. The service is amazing. The food is insanely good for on a plane. The lounge is very nice in Istanbul with showers and nap rooms. The short haul European flights are the best business class in Europe. Way better than any other European airline. And best of all one way business award tickets from us to Europe priced at 45k miles one way!? What is not to love. Obviously nothing is perfect and there are pros and cons to all airlines. But as a middle class American trying to make my miles and points go far, I could not have imagined a more luxurious and pleasant experience. Looking forward to flying them again soon. Thanks for the good review and yes, all hail Turkish airlines, the most underrated airline in the sky! Actually never mind, Turkish is terrible, you not book-leave those award seats open for me. 😉
Thank you for the great, dedicated feedback, dear Jacob! I also reviewed shorthaul business class on Turkish Airlines, comparing it to their economy class. Hippie core having a great time watching my content here on TravelSingFly! All best wishes and cheers from Germany! Chris
Extrovert?? That means your the type of jerk who sits and starts talking and asking questions of person sitting next to you?? ". Hey where you going today?"" Etc.... that's why we want privacy when we pay 5000 for a business class ticket. Avoid guys like you ..small talkers
Great review! My wife and I will be flying the 777 with Turkish Business from IAD to IST next year and I'm looking even more forward to it after watching this. Appreciated your positivity and occasional criticism where it was needed. I don't understand the need for other travel bloggers to be so negative about even the smallest inconvenience.
Thank you very much! I hope you decided to subscribe to my content. Fact is: Bad Headlines are clicked regardless of the content, positive headlines are not so much. I stick with being serious, but therefore, even with much more reliable and comprehensive content, I won't get the big view numbers. I'm really happy about each valued new subscriber - as it means building a really good community of great people who value fact-based, fair reviews 😊 thank you again. Chris
Hi there! I recently flew with Turkish airlines from Chicago to Dhaka via Istanbul. To be honest, I had a very pleasant flight as the food inside was good along the cabin service was wonderful. The cabin crew were super friendly and always looked forward to help. I will really consider to fly with them in future as I like the new Istanbul Airport as well! Thanks!
Loved this video. Very informative and gave me all of the information that I need to decide whether to fly Turkish's 777 or 787 and the A3's, which offer more room and privacy. However, from your video, I think I will be happy with the 777! Thank you, Chris!
Great review mate. I am flying Turkish Business from Melbourne, Australia through to London next week. Doing a 3 night stopover in Istanbul on the way over. We are flying Turkish A330-300, 777-300, A321-Neo and A350-900 along the way. The 1st leg is on Code Share JetStar 787-8 to Bangkok(with some trepidation, but no choice), and the last leg on Malaysian from KL back into Melbourne on an A330-300 Looking forward to all these aircraft types and comparing them all. Seeing this report give much confidence in Turkish, and those older Business seats on the 777 and A330. I'm next to my companion traveller, so no problem with the neighbour. Turkish have just started flying into Melbourne but only a few days a week(Code Share on other days). Hope that becomes daily soon. Many thanks for a great review. You got another Sub.
Love your videos. You're not afraid to be critical of the airlines. We pay a lot of money for these tickets and should not be judged for expecting a quality product.
Thank you so much. Well, I pay everything myself, so I don't need to follow what an airline would tell me to say... I really want to be very clear in everything. Showing good and not-so-great things. Because yes, it's a lot of money people (or companies) spend for this... And you can get simply hugely different products for the same price... In this case, a lot of things were really great. Especially the amenity kit was shockingly good!
Thank you so much! I hooe you'll enjoy the many other aviation and destination reports on my channel. Many more to follow this year... Btw, for content before August 2021, have a look at my original channel @Travelsingfly - all English content before August 2021 can be found there. It used to be bilingual German/English and now it's all-German, while this channel here is all-English. Thank you again and welcome to TravelSingFly!
Great that I could help with this review! Hope you'll enjoy a lot of other airline and travel reports on my channel as well. Cheers from Germany! Chris
I have flown by Turkish air line to Austria and they do take care of the passengers. The gave us a drink and a bread roll with fillings. The only Air line give you to eat on a very shot distance. The other air lines never give you anything you have to buy. Because it is a Muslim country , there are people waiting to attack muslims at all cost. Very low minded complains by low minded people.
Thank you for this great contribution, Jennifer! I also feel that this aerodrome had better service than most other carriers in Europe, in both economy and business class. I'm not sure if it has to do with the Muslim background as Emirates is so popular. It's rather a political thing with the current president. But I'm really glad I did this report. Hope you'll find more content on my channel that you like. Cheers! Chris
Well, another lovely report. 🙂 I see many people asked about the wines prices, but noone about the salt and pepper shakers : could you keep them? They're so cute! 😍
They're tiny plastic ones on regional flights. If you don't keep them, they throw them out. The nice ones on the longhaul flights have to stay on the plane....
The “omg I’m repeating myself” at 4:49 made me laugh! Thanks for your video, really informative as I assess an upgrade on a Turkish Airlines 777 next month. ❤
In my opinion it's a nice airline experience. I don't like to compare everything to Qatar QSuite as so many do. I think it's a comfortable seat (especially by the window and without a neighbor) and good catering and amenities. Have a great flight!
Thank you so much, John! Next will be Gulfair B787 and Air France B777. - After that I will try out a shorter - but still fulll-detail - format to attract viewers that might not wanna click because of the duration of my videos... I'm already a bit nervous about that... First one will be on Qatar QSuite (which I already reviewed a year ago - so that's a good tryout for comparison).
Thanks Chris, looking forward to them. Just did Halifax to Sydney, Australia On Air Canada Signature Class. There were some service issues but overall a good product. Outbound CRJ900, 787-9, 777-200 back 787-9, 777-300 and finally A220.
I like that lounge very much too! I also present it in my report about Singapore Airlines A350 Business Class from Istanbul to Singapore and in my report about economy and business class of turkish aidons on the A321neo.
We just got back from a Turkish Airlines flight from Dubai to Miami with a layover in Istanbul. This was by far the worst travel experience I've ever had and I have flown over a million miles. After purchasing business class tickets 10 months prior to travel we could not get boarding passes for the leg from Istanbul to Miami in Dubai. We went to the business class lounge and the customers in there smelled so bad we had to move twice. Next when arriving in Istanbul we had a 1/2 mile walk to the counter to get our boarding passes. We were given seats 7 rows apart for a 12 hour flight. Then we had to exit the airport come back through security again and then we had to get searched again with a pat down at the airside. Never again will I use Turkish Airlines or even fly anywhere near Turkey. Oh and BTW the business class seat is a economy premium size even though it does move out to a somewhat flat position.
Hi Chuck! Thanks for sharing. All the experiences are valuable to other viewers. However, you must know that the reason for leaving airside in Istanbul and going through security again has visa reasons and has nothing to do with the airline. Have seats far apart from each other is annoying, but actually that can happen with most airlines once the seats weren't reserved (some systems try to keep seats together if booked in one booking procedure, but really not many). However, the seat, no matter in which longhaul plane, Istanbul-Miami, is always a fully lieflat business class seat. Dubai-Istanbul has a few flights on their shorthaul planes that feature business class in the form of what you'd get as first class in the US - so if always avoid that if there's a choice (and there's a choice on the route Dubai-Istanbul of wide body and narrow body planes with Turkish) Smelly passengers.... Well, to be honest I had that on every continent in the world..... 🙈 Crossing fingers that all your future flights will be great. And happy to have you here in the channel. All best. Chris
That was one of the best and honest reports about a flight. If that is not a problem, I would like to make a small suggestion. As an aviation lover, I can say that we like to sound of the reverse thrust and the touchdown. Maybe that would be good if you used that sound in your video instead of the music sound. Beside that, thank you so much for the report. I am glad that you liked the experience.
Hi Emre! Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! I'm happy you enjoyed my report - one of our 130 videos in the meantime in my German and English channels. I agree about the engine sounds. In many videos I give that too - it's sometimes just difficult to keep the balance as I don't want people drop out before everything is said. I'll bring some sounds back, I promise 😊
Thanks for another great video Chris. Very interesting, yes, I have heard some mixed and negative Turkish reviews recently as well. Not flown them myself, but I get the feeling ( generally speaking ) that it is fine if you book a good deal. Maybe the catering would be better outbound from Istanbul too. While I respect them serving Turkish wines, the international selection is a bit weak for business class. As you rightly said, the seating on the A350 and 787 offers more privacy and elbow room. Enjoyed your review, please keep up the good work it is very much appreciated !
Thank you so much, dear John. I felt the catering was pretty good - I just wanted to stay focused on the wood product and not loose myself in the wines as I did with Emirates First Class (where it was really worth it - I think I'll make a separate video just about the wines on Emirates, maybe it's a good idea...) )
I know exactly which other travel YT'er you mean, he is always very negative! I flew TK many times in business class from Jakarta to Amsterdam (I live in Surabaya but my motherland is the Netherlands which I visit 2 times a year or so) and always had a near to perfect flight experience! Good and clean business class, excellent service and good food and very friendly staff! My first flight on TK business for 2023 will be 3 Feb and I am looking forward to it. Good and honest review and I subscribed, thanks!
Hi Colin! Thank you so much for this message! I try to give really the best andfairest possible reviews here. Very happy about your feedback and appreciation. Thank you for coming on board my channel! Chris
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! Please know that on top of the comment on this channel, there's lots of interesting reports in NGOs on my original channel www.RU-vid.com/c/TravelSingFly It used to be bilingual until August 2021 (all-German more, but all the English content before 8/2021 is there)
Oh thank you so much, dear Gildo! That just made my day.... Thank you for following. The really great reports coming this year and I'm excited to share all those experiences with my wonderful audience! It'll be quite since work - but reading a beautiful comment line this, it's so worth it! Cheers to beautiful Mexico!
Hi there Chris I enjoyed your video.I haven’t flown on turkish airlines it looks like you were well looked after.the food 🍱 looked very good 👍 take care on your travels. Cheers 🥂 Chanel Linda
Thank you so much for reaching out! It was a good experience! Glad I did this report... Hour you're having a great time watching my video here. Cheers! Chris
Thank you for the compliment. That's very kind! If you look exactly, you'll find the registry number of the respective plane, and the month of its first flight, in every video in the moment of take-off. Thank you for being part of my channel! Hugs! Chris
There's actually quite a few different opinions on that. Some point the old B777 configuration. It's old but it provides much more space for sleeping than the new 1-2-1 configuration on the B787. Of course the old version takes up much more space or seat, so the airlines get rid of them and introduce more modern seats that at the same time take up less space. I prefer the old version bebaute only there I can sleep well, since the legs are completely free, no foot coffin - but of course there's lots of passengers who don't mind the small cubicle for the legs and prefer the new ones. (I also prefer the old Qatar 2-2-2 on the B777 way over the medium-old, non-QSuite seats on the B787 and some A350-900s)
@@TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition I prefer the aisle seat because I pee alot. I hate when I get settled in and the guy next to me decides he has to pee and wakes me up. I hate that. If you have a large bladder and do not drink water or alcohol before sleeping, then the window seat would be perfect. So for me, the 1-2-1 configuration is the best.
Hi! Thank you for this question! If course all catering and wines are free. I just started to show the regular retail price for wines on longhaul business and first class - to give an idea about what level of beverages is served. It's more relevant in first class flights, of course. It was pretty spectacular in my series about Emirates First Class.... I should have pointed that out maybe.... Thanks again for reaching out! And for watching!
Hi John! Thanks for watching and for your feedback! No, you don't pay of course. I just do the effort and research all prices for wines/ champagne/ cognac etc on most of my reports about premium-cabin flights. I find it a way of measuring how much the airlines put money and effort into giving good catering on board a flight. In case you're interested in it, have a look at my reports on the Emirates First Class Lounge and an Emirates First Class flight to Canada. They have the most outstanding wines of all lounges (I saw a bottle worth 750$ - for self-service! Insane...) and the most exclusive on-board cognac of all airlines (Hennessy Paradis), and that even on the shortest flight (short flights don't include caviar, but that cognac is so much more exclusive) Thank you again and cheers from Germany! Chris
Hi, great video! I was wondering if you can go to the bathroom while your neighbour is sleeping if you have that window seat? Can you jump over them or will you wake them regardless? Thanks!
Hi! Well, in that case I always talk to my neighbor really nicely - just as I do when I fly economy (which I still enjoy too, by the way!) - and I'll still try to step over them in a more or less sportive way to not disturb them. In case your German speaking: please take note of my all-German channel @Travelsingfly
Thanks for sharing. I guess you had a good experience there. I've got a couples of questions if you can help me out... 1- What video edit program do yo you use and how you made the plane effect flying thru the map at the beggining of the video on the left corner of the screen? 2- Who's that british youtuber who you make reference at 10:45 ? Trek trendy? Thank you very much
I need to keep a few little secrets to myself. But I know there's a few good video softwares out there. I use a very regular video editing program, and the map is just a map part inside that. There's much better stuff out there. I just spend a huge amount of hours editing that's all.....
@@TravelSingFlyEnglishEdition honestly it would have been useful. I don't get the sense of a "secret" like that. I'm not talking about a bank account password. Anyway... If it makes you happier like that...
Dear Vicer. Well, I'm not sure what other creators answered after that line of reply. I can just say it doesn't make me happier. 😅🙈 There's just so much better software on the market as far I understand, especially if you don't wanna spend hours of editing (these small 10-second sequences really take me a few hours in the making). And if I don't have time at all, I usually wait or rarely I pay somebody to do a certain 5-seconds route for me that I implement later.
I think that other video you were referencing that was critical had a personal vendetta against the airline and a bad experience with one really rude employee.
I see. That's not what airline reports should be made for..... Unfortunately they're successful even though they are not seriously useful for the audience...
Is the British RU-vidr is Trek Trendy?? I saw his video on TK as well and he's among the critical, his comments seems a bit over from what he showed on the video, but I also see another channel that has 2 videos on TK which one is so favored and the other so critical. I think if we assume all of the reviews are genuine, then it comes down to the airline consistency, if you're lucky then you'll get a lovely service and if not you'll get disappointment. I flown TK before and I love it but my friend hates it, so yeah if the experience quite different than the airline needs to work on their service consistency.
Hi! Thank you so much for reaching out! That's great. I agree. Very important. All I don't quite understand is when RU-vid videos or even just thumbnail pictures are made with negative Content just to attract viewers. And then be 100% negative in a place where not everything is negative. I try to find the middle... Which isn't always easy. But I won't put my personality or ego in the way of a fair report. I always try to keep it all about the product, not about myself... (and totally get when two people find the same hard product good and not great - especially with a cabin like this one here)
Well, it's a matter of preference. Now doing all these flight reports, I've received so many mails from people who prefer this configuration over 1-2-1 that I cannot say anymore that this isn't a good product. I actually like it a lot as it gives more space (not privacy) than any new cabin - if there's no neighbors
Hi Lloyd! I hope you find lots of interesting content on this Chennai my original channel. There's, however, a reason why I didn't say a name. I don't want to label a person as this is rather a phenomenon on social media that not-very-exact yet really loud reports or pictures or news with big bold headlines are much more listened to than exact, well researched or just honest ones... But my channel is not about that. Only in this report I needed to address it in a short moment, as I find it sometimes really annoying. However, everybody may do as he/she/them like, of course... As creators we should just stay humble - I find that a beautiful virtue in this loud life.... Cheers from Europe! Chris
I always feel like those “review RU-vidrs” want to work with the airline and get that cash behind the doors but they dont get paid so they trash the airline. Thats my conspiracy theory. And if it was. Non stop whinning dan, he just a b word 🚬
Well, I don't think any airline will give a free ticket to a RU-vidr of under 100000 subscribers - probably way more.... Only problem I have is fellow RU-vidrs who make clickbait or task an airline just to get clicks. Because it works and it puts serious and really honest (as opposed to "brutally" honest) channels like mine in an off-zone, just because I say and show the reality with its good and it's not so great sides. Not easy to stay calm and real and not easy at all to grow that way...... But I can look in the mirror at night at least and still see an honest person 😊😊😊 Thank you very much for watching! Chris
I have to say I disagree. It's an old business class layout. AMD wollte im not the biggest fan of Turkish Airlines as a company, I don't these old seats really comfortable. However: zero privacy. Premium Economy has only recliner seats. And mostly not as comfortable as they look. Believe me, I take so many self-financed flights per year for this channel just to give the best info to my viewers... The seat is very comfy but no privacy, and had nothing to do with premium eco.
