Turkey's economy is on strong footing, in sharp contrast to Europe and other parts of the Arab world. But while the country's economy grew 8.5 per cent in 2011, and exports are at a record high, growth is slowing. If domestic consumers get nervous and foreign investment goes down, the reforms that Turkey claims have inoculated it against the current crisis may face a more harsh reality.
