Here's my theory.. Califiori comes in as first choice LB, freeing up Timber to play left sided 8 and perform the Xhaka role we missed so much last season. Covering at LB and supporting Martinelli, he is more mobile, more technical and equally as defensive as Rice. Could be a good option..

He's telling the truth. Gabriel nearly went Juventus towards end of 22/23 and Arteta dropped him for the first few games of the season. Gabriel also recently said he dreams to play for corinthians. What man says this? Not someone who seems himself at the club for very long

Calafiori reminds me of David Luiz. A talented defender who like to hold on to the ball and plays out of defence. He will need to adjust his game for the EPL as the EPL is faster and it will be very easy for Calafiori to lose the ball if he tries to always play out of defence. Hopefully he is a much better defender than Luiz and do not give away too many penalties and free kicks in dangerous areas.

He’s correct . I love Gabriel as a player but he missed a few games at the start of the season , I hope we do keep him . Calafiori is a solid CB and can play LB , but I’d prefer Timber or Tomiyasu starting left back this season coming up

Tbh I've thought this as well.. I didn't think that Gabriel flirting with a move was the cause but maybe Gabriel doesn't suit what arteta wants.. Maybe Calafiori is just that little bit better than Gabriel.

He is going right to LB. We will literally have 4 CB's across the backline with the two wingbacks able to invert to overload the midfield. Timber will continue to deputize across the back line with the ability to start at all 4 positions. The same can be said for Tomi.

All you fans saying he’s waffling are showing utter copium.. these players do not support Arsenal and I’ve always said our current cb’s are too good not to have won any trophies… they will eventually leave and you fans need to deal with that..
