After near 50 countries, and 100+ cities, Istanbul is definitely in my top 5 cities! I lived there for 3 months- and miss it all the time. I especially miss all my kitty friends from my old neighborhood. 😢 And the food, of course! Hope you guys enjoyed yourselves. 😃
Wow, Impressive! Istanbul certainly has a charm that I am slowly coming to love. Perhaps as we continue to flight through we will get to see this city time and time again.
@@ChadandClaire I'm not sure if it's the case with you guys- but the chaos of a place like Istanbul can be a bit overwhelming for some, so I can see how some people may not be a fan! But we moved to Istanbul after two years of living between Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur and Seoul..so after that, it seemed pretty chill..😂
My wife, toddler, and I were just there 2 weeks ago. it was amazing. Turkish people are the most genuine and friendliest people we've ever met. Would definitely go back to Istanbul and turkey in general for the people and they're delicious food.

We were there 2mths back … they really know how to cook lamb…one of my favourite places for food along with Tokyo, Barcelona & Tuscany One thing I found out there is their local chocolates are really good and affordable…didn’t know Godiva Chocolate is jointly own by a Turkish company..i have to pay 2-3x more in my Country for Godiva chocolates
One thing I learned on my recent trip that a lot of these food review videos don't mention is, The Euro side is good for the majority of the sites (Topkipa Palace, Sofia, Etc.) and to eat, you want to cross over the Galata bridge to the asian side, where the food is excellent and much cheaper ( like you see in these videos )

13:15 In fact Çiğ Köfte was all about bulgur. But back in the days they were also adding ground beef which the original recipe includes. Mix them for a very long time to cook. But it got people sick. So the ground beef was banned inside commercial Çiğ Köfte
The simit you've tried didn't seem to be fresh, so it was too dry, that's probably why you've had a hard time biting, unfortunately. Try it very early in the morning or buy directy from a bakery fresh next time and maybe with tea and cheese on the side :)

The fish sandwiches are similar in alot of ports around the world. I was in Hamburg last week and they are called fischbrotchen there. Istanbul looks alot nicer than hamburg tho
I don't know when those ice cream shops will stop ripping people off, it's impossible for that much ice cream to cost 50 TL, they only get paid a lot when tourists see it.
If you think Turkish kunefe is good, you should try Lebanese kunefe if that country is on your list. The top layer is much finer and it's served as breakfast in a sesame seeded bread. Truly remarkable.
The reason for many Turkish flags is because the USA government feeding terrorists and terrorism; previously Al Qaida, Taliban. Later DASH, ISIS, PKK, YPG. The first spice market you went to is in one of the entrances to the Grand Bizarre. The 2nd was inside the Grand Bizarre. I hope you stopped going to restaurants in the tourist areas, the food isn’t as good. Everything is specially made for tourists and some are not eaten by Turks.

All them simit you see on the streets are highly unhygienic and disgusting, I definitely do not recommend, they could've been sitting there for hours or days. Not to mention how they handle the food.
I said the same thing to my wife as the guy handled mine with no gloves while taking money from someone else. She simply asked "Did you get sick yet?" ( after being there for 5 days at this point ) lol So take that as you wish.
