I'm setting up an Arlo security system at a remote location with no conventional internet service. So I'm planning to use a Netgear Nighthawk wireless hotspot for internet connectivity. I discovered that the ethernet port on the Nighthawk can only download data and does not upload!?!? So just plugging in the Arlo base station to the Nighthawk via ethernet is bupkis. I'm hoping that using this approach will fix my problem. Thanks for a clear and concise tutorial.

Searching this solution for long. Shifted to new building where we do not have CAT5 wiring. My router i.e. Asus RT N18U has limited bandwidth available, 600MBPS, but has a great coverage. To reserve the bandwidth I am planning to connect one of these devices to Gigabit port on router, and the other on NVR. Thanks for giving the idea.

Thank you for this video 😀 just got one of these set up on my Tivo Edge a few minutes ago - Yes the tivo edge has wifi but as of this writing it has a terrible software bug. When you lose your wifi connection, The Tivo Edge box does not automatically connect again to wifi making the box not record or stream. This Device tricks the Tivo into thinking its wired, appearing to bypass the issue.

What kind of tv reciver do you have is it just FTA or can you program to add cable channels?

3:30 Using the USB to power the device has to be inconvenient when it comes to backing up the recordings to an external device due to other USB being used for the mouse to operate the system. That being said I just setup my recorder with the device and opted for the power brick. It’s a shame the recorder I have requires flash player in the browser… oh well. Thanks for the video bud. It’s a cost effective solution.

I have a custom machine that transmits data to a control box through a cat 5 / cat 6 cable. If I connect the control box to a wifi router, and I connect Vonets VAP11G-300 to the custom machine, will I be able to make the machine transmit data to tr control box through wifi?

Hi Ron, i hope youcan help… i would like to connect a lexmark laser printer to the wifi. Thet either it has its own wifi that i can call « printer » or that i connect it to a router (ideally would rather have it independent) but i am not managing…. What step am i missing? How to do? Thank you!!

I have a Blackmagic ATEM Pro which requires wired internet. This looks like it would work, but I need to connect Hotel WiFi, and thus change the settings for every hotel. Plus hotel systems generally have security above the router layer, where a browser pops up asking for your name and room number. How would I reconfigure for each stay? Can it handle a password after WiFi connects?

Just curious, and from what I see I think it will, can I put an IP camera on the RJ45 connection from the device and then connect to my wifi and see the camera on my DVR? The system I have supports 2 IP cameras and I would like to use the Vonets to connect to our Orbi’s Wifi and then to the DVR.

I would like to connect a hub with a bunch of devices in a particular network lets say 192.168.0.x. I want this "vonets"to be "as a cable" connecting that hub, to another hub with the same network,... the second network has DHCP or not... the second hub is a router, and has WIFI. ... Can i do that with only one of those devices?

Used this great video to setup my vonets succesfully. However I need to connect to IP of the device that is connected to internet via the vonets. Whenever I enter the IP I just land on the vonets config UI. What am I doing wrong?

Be careful about Vonets devices, they include a built-in backdoor (like many others chinese products of that kind)

I get to the login screen and put admin for username and for password and it tells me it can’t load page. I have also tried password on back off devices as 12345678 and says the same thing. Can you help??

This device is rubbish. Takes a mastermind to get it to work. If the internet drops it stops working then you need to spend hours trying to re connect it or like mine it simply just stols working. Useless.

Does it work on Original Xbox ?
