I agree with the caption in the thumbnail for this video. Anything built with pocket holes should be considered disposable.

What an entitled, arrogant, smug, self-righteous, and immature view. Obviously you have never needed to use pocket holes which questions your experience in woodworking. In many furniture restorations, especially vintage Japanese pieces made with a 5/8" or 1/2" delicate frame, retrofitting panels can only be done with pocket holes. So many other uses for tight fitting pieces or retrofits where other forms of joining are not possible or would entail dismantling the whole piece at risk of permanent damage. Go do more woodworking before you make such sweeping statements.

This tool is extremely useful for hidden drilling and where it is not possible to drill. We are waiting for your new videos.

I made the jig then mounted it vertically and included some supports to speed up assembling some frames. Thanks.

There is no shoulder formed to stop screw head from passing all the way through

Very nice DIY tool. I'd build it just because Kreg is outrageously expensive for a plastic Made in China tool. I feel ripped off. I'd use metal pipes inside, and make two sizes, one narrow one for delicate furniture restoration. The Kreg drill bit is too thick. Sometimes I need #6 screws. fyi: 2:56 - Roll up your sleeves. Dangerous to have long sleeves in a workshop and it also blocks the camera view. Always drill pilot holes in the receiving wood piece. Self tapping screws can crack the wood due to pressure of sawdust being trapped in there. Drill your pilot holes then use a long thin drill bit to match the screw shaft and drill into receiving end with this. Now it will never crack.

I'm going to build this, but I'll insert a metal pipe inside to make it a more permanent solution.

DIY man. Would you be able to build me a Kreg hole jig for attaching 3/4” wood and 1.5” wood?

I love your show and I love to work with wood. I am a retired nurse and have a budget as do most people on social security. I am wondering if you can give me any information about what I would need to do basic stuff. I have some tools and electrical like saws, jig saw and drills. Is it safe to buy used stuff? Where could I go to find these things? Is working with epoxy costly? I appreciate you reading my comment and thank you.

Thanks Cathy! Yes, I love used tools! They save so much money. You might like this video, it explains the basic tools you need. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iw8nTRP5Cm0.html. As far as epoxy is concerned, I really don’t know much about it. It’s not super expensive though

I’m doing great! Merry Christmas! Yes, we still got the plane. I started a new channel, called “Adventure Men” and I’m hoping to start adding some videos on our flying adventures. And yes, I do still sing, lol, maybe I’ll make another parody soon. Never know 😏

perfect for DIY'er Thanks. About to make mine, but one question, I wonder since there isn't a guided hole for the screw, does the wood split on the plywood side?
@DIYMAN
@DIYMAN Год назад
I haven’t had an issue with it, but I do typically use the pocket hole drill bit too
