Quick tip. Putting the starch in a low ph solution (acidic) will make the hydrolysis reaction go faster. You can quickly dilute the acid using (depending on if it's sulfuric, or hydrochloric) by using either sodium bicarbonate or sodium hydroxide. Cody'sLab did a video similar to this but using potatoes, which I attempted, but failed as I used vinegar, and then accidentally added too much sodium bicarb.
