Hi Everybody! If you like me to do the upgrade, you can find more information in the video description. And here is my review of the X-500 LCD Key Fob ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kNcuTaQGcCw.html Cheers!
@@CrySomeMorePlease Hi Google Sucks! Nope a normal remote battery (normally CR2032) does not have enough power to run the LCD Key Fob or to extend it's battery life. Hope this helps, Cheers!
@@CrySomeMorePlease Hi Google Sucks! I unfortunately don't know the official answer but if I had to guess, it's likely an option to have the remote hold the button down on the original remote if you hold your finger on the screen virtual button (normally it appears the Key Fob presses the button on the original remote once when you touch the screen virtual button) And if I ever can confirm from FitcamX what the official description of this function is, I will update this comment for you. Hope this helps, Cheers!
I just bought one of these for my Infiniti but I don’t know which one is the positive and the negative for the power I tried hooking it up but it’s not turning on so I believe I’m doing something wrong lol
Hi Lester! oh oh! be very careful you don't to damage something, positive on a battery is normally indicated by a "+" however I would strongly recommend taking the key to a place that already works with electronics, they can do the transfer in the blink of an eye where I would take way longer for someone who hasn't done soldering before. However If you still want to attempt, I have a video coming showing how I soldered mine. Stay tuned bud!
Hi Delwyn! nice! congrats on your new LCD remote, I still get some many questions when people spot me using me LOL It definitely catches people's attention! 😁
So mine came in... They were able to get me all connected. I had many questions and FitcamX was responsive and helpful. This thing is awesome. Thanks guys. If you are a car person this is a must have.
Thank you Jonathan! Ah so far I have not run into any PCB too large for the FOB, there is quite a bit of space in there, here are the measurements 55mm x 34mm x 6mm (actually it's a total of 66mm long, but the space towards the end tapers from 34mm down to 26mm so I usually don't count that area). Cheers!
I just bought one of x900 remotes. Should be here within the next 2 days. One thing none of the videos touch on is the signal strength. What's the distance for remote start?
great video! thanks. 1. I have a mitsubishi lancer 2015 with immobilizer chip in the key fob (with regular key in it). what do i do with the chip from the original remote? put it in the lcd remote? will there be room for it in the lcd? does the chip needs to be close to the pcb board in order for the car to start, or just close to the ignition key hole?( i have only one original key so i can't put one chip in the lcd and one in the original key fob.) i understand i probably will have to carry both key fobs to start the car, until i switch to remote start hopefully in the future . 2. will the Push Start Kit Add On, you put in the description EC003, fit for my car?
You're welcome! Ah regarding the chip built into the physical key, you are correct, the LCD keyfob turns your current keyfob into an LCD keyfob, it does not have room inside to carry a key. So if you need a key to start your vehicle you will still need that key to start it once you upgrade to the LCD keyfob. Regarding adding push start later, yes that can be added using a kit like this one amzn.to/2Z12Xsr The contents of the remote start key would then be transferred to the LCD key fob that way you won't have to carry two key fobs. Hope this helps, Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun thanks! regarding the push start kit, since i would need to bypass the immobilizer. i understand that one key needs to be in the ignition to unlock the wheel and another key to be inside the bypass, and since i only have one original key, can i split it, so that the key itself will be in ignition and the chip in the bypass?will it work? furthermore, will it be possible to tape the tiny immobilizer chip right next to the ignition hole instead of buying the bypass?
Ah I wish I could help with that, but I seen so many variations in how the immobilizer works and ways to bypass it, seems it's almost different for every car LOL So while I'm familiar with IMMO, I can't confirm which method would work best. However what I can recommend is to contact local installers who install car alarms for a living, they may be able to point you in the right direction and also give you a quote (I did one remote start install a very long time ago and I swore I would never do another again, so many wire splices, soldering and dealing with the IMMO LOL) I did recently find another remote start system that is plug and play here you go ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JHAYqbHpbNM.html They may be another resource to check with regarding your specific case if you go with one of their systems. Hope this helps, Cheers!
Hi Aude! It's size is near identical to the BMW LCD key you get with the 7 series, it actually looks like a straight copy of it lol. But if you don't need it to look like a BMW key here is the Mini version amzn.to/3qrjeBN And I imagine that it will continue to get even more smaller like all technologies do overtime. Regarding using with multiple vehicles, nope it can only control the car that the original remote belongs. Hope this helps, Cheers!
Hi Floria! This is an universal kit for all cars and models that use a remote with buttons, if your remote has normal buttons then it should work. Cheers!
Hi Jordan! Correct, Fitcamx rates the battery on the X-900 at about a week with screen use and 3 months without screen use. They also have extended battery life versions, they rate the X-600 and X-700 at about 2 weeks with screen use and 3 months without screen (I put a link to them in the video description). Hope this helps, Cheers!
Hi N! Remote start can be added to the car using a kit like this one amzn.to/2Z12Xsr The contents of the remote start key would then be transferred to the LCD key fob that way you won't have to carry two key fobs, Cheers!
Hi Alexander! The range is determined by the range of your original remote (remember this uses the original remotes transmitter) Here is the original video where I cover this in more detail ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kNcuTaQGcCw.html Hope this helps, Cheers!
Hello do I still have to buy the remote engine start for my 2019 BMW G20 M340i XDRiVE to switch on remote engine start because I haven’t switched it on with BMW but does that key fob switch it on ?
Hi Frankie! This Key fob does not add remote start unless your car already has it. However remote start can be added to the car using a kit like this one amzn.to/2Z12Xsr The contents of the remote start key would then be transferred to the LCD key fob that way you won't have to carry two key fobs. And here is the advanced the version of this key fob where they added more options for automating remote start ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m94fFgXrJEY.html Hope this helps, Cheers!
Hi Checo! Unfortunately there is no space inside the LCD keyfob for a blade key. The key can be carried separately like a traditional setup up or if you want to eliminate the key completely, a push start system can be added to the car using a kit like this one amzn.to/2Z12Xsr The contents of the remote start key would then be transferred to the LCD key fob that way you won't have to carry two key fobs. Cheers!
Hi aztecspike! This Key Fob supports a maximum of 4 buttons which means you would have to decide the 4 buttons most important to you and which one you are willing to give up. Maybe we will see a 5 button version (assuming there is enough demand) and if enough people request this from FitCamX. Hope this helps, Cheers!
Hi Zeljko Porobic! take a look at your manual (page 7 if I remember correctly) it shows the file format as PNG, naming convention, size and resolution requirements. It also has FitcamX contact info if you need help converting your image. Hope this helps, Cheers!
My car needs the lock button to be pressed 3 times for the remote start to function. Can i set that up in the menu so it does it automatically when i press start?
Hi Jose! yes you can customize the remote start option to automate this process for you reducing the number of clicks, you can see this at the 6:20 mark. Hope this helps and thanks for watching bud!
Hi RusWolf! You would start the car like before with a normal key, remember the LCD Key fob does not add push button start unless your car already has it. Hi Kanudos! Nope, the OBD2 adapter is only used for the comfort function (locking and unlocking the doors). Here is a OBD2 dongle scanner if you need one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rGWSxEXFbOg.html Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun Thank you! I actually have that exact OBD scanner. But I wanted to know if the LCD Key OBD can be used to read engine oil and coolant temperature. ? Thanks
Hi RazoE! It's size is near identical to the BMW LCD key you get with the 7 series. The size is mostly limited by the need for the new key fob to fit your old key circuit board inside and the size of the touchscreen itself. But I wouldn't doubt it will continue to get small like all technologies do. Hope that makes sense and thanks for watching bud!
Hi Omar! remember the LCD key fob is an upgrade for your existing Fob it is not a stand alone device. The original key fob contents are still contained within the LCD Key Fob body. Here is the original video where I cover this in more detail ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kNcuTaQGcCw.html Hope this helps, Cheers!
Hi Aaron! I have converted two G840H's already and just received a 3rd one that also has screws (video showing the conversion on it coming!) but it's possible that yours may not have screws, sometimes I do see small differences between product coming from the manufacturer directly vs Amazon (where I get all my stuff) that may be a possibility (and even within Amazon stock there could be different batches of the product). I'm currently working on the mounting solution for dash cams that do not have screws, stay tuned for that video and cheers bud!
Hi Eternal Empath! you only need the remote start function if you want to use the remote start function on the LCD remote. This remote does not add remote start unless your car already has it. However remote start can be added to the car using a kit like this one amzn.to/2Z12Xsr The contents of the remote start key would then be transferred to the LCD key fob that way you won't have to carry two key fobs. What would the battery life look like if i always used the keyless access and very very very rarely used the screen/buttons. I know its hard to say but a rought guess?
Hi Emiliano! Fitcamx rates the battery on the X-900 at 1 week with screen use and 3 months without screen use. They also have extended battery life versions, they rate the X-600 and X-700 at 2 weeks with screen use and 3 months without screen (I put a link to them in the video description). However if you don't plan to use the screen and primarily want the auto lock and unlock feature also consider a system like this one amzn.to/3VZP9H0 Since it was designed to be used without a screen it is very likely it's battery life will exceed any of Fitcamx LCD Key Fobs. Hope this helps, Cheers!
Hi Barber Chris! There is no programming required since the contents of your original key are transferred to the inside of the LCD keyfob so the car thinks it's still the original remote controlling it. I explain how this key fob works in more detail on the first video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kNcuTaQGcCw.html Hope this helps, Cheers!
Hi 07freshkid70! yes you can still use the comfort system (automatic door locking and unlocking) if you car does not have push start. And if you decide to add remote start later, it can be done using a kit like this one amzn.to/2Z12Xsr The contents of the remote start key would then be transferred to the LCD key fob that way you won't have to carry two key fobs. Hope this helps and thanks for watching bud!
@@AlexAutoFun I would like to mention though I do not have an actual push to start built into the car as factory, I did get a computstar remote start key fob added. Would the remote start function work based on have the compustar installed?
@@07freshkid70 Ah I'm not familiar with that push start system, but assuming it includes a remote with buttons then it should work. The LCD Key fob does not know what the function of the button does, it just knows that it has to push the button on your old key fob when you press the virtual button on the LCD screen. Hope that makes sense and cheers bud!
Hi Luis! this video covers the differences between the original Smart Key (X-500) and the (X-900). Make sure to watch thru the end for a secret feature we found in the X-900! Hope this helps and thanks for watching bud!
Hi Slash111111! Yes you do not need keyless entry for this auto lock and unlock (as long as your current car remote can lock and unlock the car when you push a button) And If you decide to go completely keyless in the future, this can be done using a kit like this one amzn.to/2Z12Xsr The contents of the push start key would then be transferred to the LCD key fob that way you won't have to carry two key fobs. Hope this helps bud!
Hi Cardiee! not sure what you mean about a "start addon" but this remote does not add remote start unless your car already has it. However remote start can be added to the car using a kit like this one amzn.to/2Z12Xsr The contents of the remote start key would then be transferred to the LCD key fob that way you won't have to carry two key fobs. Hope this helps and thanks for watching bud!
Hi Shamir! it should be able to assuming your remote currently has that function. Remember the smart LCD remote just presses the button for you (electronically) regardless of the button function (the smart remote doesn't know what the button activates or does, it just knows that it has to activate whatever button you have pressed on the touchscreen on the physical button of your old key fob) Cheers!

My current key fob has a "regular" key in it. This will unlock the door should the battery die. Would this just become obsolite? And I would not have that with the new key fob?
Hi Sam! correct there is no space for a physical key inside of this remote. I think I would be neat if the next version has space for it, but I don't know if it will happen as this LCD fobs are getting smaller and smaller (by demand) But I do find one that has space for a key I will let you know bud!
