I have this. Its absolutely excellent. The Marshall 1960 and the Mesa Boogie half stack is absolutely incredible. And i have my own cabs loaded on it too. Perfect for my cabless rig

Nice idea for not a lot of money. I am, btw, really enjoying this "budget pedal" sort of series you've got going.

I'd love to see a recreation video of someone being a guitarist on a budget in the 80's and nineties vs. today. I just remember trying to play metal out of a Fender frontman amp that came in a beginners pack with no pedals. Lol. I wish I had this technology back then!

Nice pedal for the lower budget. Gets the normal guitarist to enter the realm of IRs without investing a tone of money. Great vid again Jason.

Interesting video! I actually did something similar to this for a few gigs, before I got my Helix. I actually used a Boss ME-70 multi effects pedal into a Mooer Radar pedal, which is similar to this one, and it worked really well! The software was pretty easy to use if you wanted to load your own IRs as well. Definitely a usable solution for people on a budget!

i really enjoyed my mooer radar as well. gave my HD500 an “upgrade” for many years before upgrading to helix

@@ChrisCram Hi Chris, I own a HD500X and one of my thoughts while watching this vid was: "would it be possible beef up the sound quality of my HD" since I don't want to invest a lot in other modelers. You seem to have the experience. Do you have any alternatives that would work better than this pedal? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!

@@ronpluijm That’s exactly how i used the Radar. I don’t want to say anything bad about the cabinets in the HD series but in the years since it was released IRs became a big thing and devices like the Radar instantly gave me a more lifelike sound by putting it after the HD in the signal chain. i did experiment with putting the radar in the effects loop and moving that around before delay/modulation effects but found it didn’t make much difference to me. Try it out but it was the best upgrade i could make to my HD and i used it for another 2yrs like this before saving up for the Helix. I still use the same IRs in my helix as i did in the radar!

Great demo brother! I was hoping to be able to plug my Friedman BE OD into the ir loader, into a frfr headrush speaker. Is that how this should work? Thanks 👍

I think, I'm gonna get one of these for my analogue bass guitar pedal board. As I use an EBS Valve Drive tube overdrive, the use of an impulse response makes sense for me in live situations to get rid of that fizzy highend distortion. The two stock bass cab IRs don't sound too convincing to me, though. Tried them with my HX-Stomp and I didn't like em at all. You can actually download the eleven stock IRs, that come with this pedal, from the sonicake website for free, if you want. Loaded with the Celestion IRs I bought for my HX-Stomp, this little thing should do the job without taking much space on my pedal board. For this pricepoint it's a no brainer, I think.

I suppose since it's a file drag and drop, you could pull out the existing file and save it somewhere in the event you might want to put it back in later?

How much does the sample rate matter? Does anyone have any experience with lower vs higher sample rates? I’ve been thinking of picking one of these up, but I wonder if it would be better for me to just get a cheaper FULL multifx like a NUX mg300.

Do the amplifiers not have a drive? Is there an IR that contains the cabinets with a drive or do you always have to put an overdrive or distortion before the signal chain?

Is it possible to create an overdriven IR?
@swedeinla

could you use that straight in to an amp (frfr) as opposed to in to cubase?
@tanneryordan
@tanneryordan Год назад
this is designed to replace the speaker of the amp entirely, meaning it needs to come AFTER the amp. if you ran it into your amp, you would be hearing a speaker emulation through another speaker and it wont sound anything like you want it to

I'd be interested to know how this pedal applies low/high cuts, if at all. I know I always have to use cuts when using IR's.
@bones2532
@bones2532 2 года назад
I don't think it offers this option. As it is only 'drag & drop' - like they say on the website - there seems to be no possibility to adjust parameters of the loaded IRs.
@stevegardiner8473
@stevegardiner8473 2 года назад
@@bones2532 No, I realise it doesn't provide options for setting cuts yourself but, I don't see how it's very practical if it doesn't cut somehow. My first unit that used ir's was a DigiTech GSP1101, which applied a fixed cut to all 10 of the ir's you could load into it.

@@stevegardiner8473 I'm talking about adjusting the impulse response in the daw by making those cuts. You're making a new IR with cuts applied. After it's done the IR can be used with this pedal.
