You don’t throw an effective punch by chambering the shoulder and extending with the wrist in line with the radius and ulna (two bones in the forearm) all parallel You rotate the wrist inwards and the radius and ulna twist around each other rotating the wrist to line everything up to transmit power from the back foot through the legs, hip, back and shoulder Muscle memory for EXACTLY what you need to do in the ring is generated in practice. So you don’t throw the punch with a different form than when you are going to really throw the punch
Floyd is very skilful, no doubt, but why do trainers throw the jab pads onto boxers punches ? You wouldn’t get a boxer throwing their chin onto a boxer’s gloves, so why do trainers over reach with the jab pads ?
