I am a fellow wood worker as well and will fill you in on a little secret. The best virgin wood pallets you can use are free at furniture stores. Their wood is clean and usually a hard wood since they need strong wood for shipping their clean new furniture and rust free nails, you’re welcome!! Love the videos, keep’em coming.

I absolutely LOVE that you're doing this. A couple of tips so you can do this for a long time: 1) Take your watch off, wear masks, wear gloves, wear steel toe boots 2) Use a push block with your table saw. It's never a problem until it is. Most people would give this two thumbs up if they still had both. 3) Watch a video on proper table saw steps - I noticed you stand behind your saw directly with your body in full sight of the blade - this is a quick death / dismemberment. You want to stand to the side of your blade so that if there is kickback from your piece, it will fly UP (always) and miss your groin (death), your face (death), or your arm (Dismemberment). 4) Get yourself a foam featherboard by Bow. If you put this on your table saw, it will help keep pressure against your fence for straight edges and way less chance of kickback.

Yucca 😂 Stumbled across this because my 17 year old has been dabbling in woodworking for about 3 years but wants to tackle some larger projects. When I saw the title I was intrigued, but the longer I watched the more excited I became because I actually have 4 sons and 3 daughters and they are all “makers” in their own way. I can envision my oldest son 3D printing jigs and templates and my 15 year old son pouring epoxy resin into table tops. My oldest daughter is a wood burning guru/artist. I’m showing this video tonight for family movie night to help get their creative juices flowing and further spark their entrepreneurial spirits.

Blueberries. Pineapple. Yucca. My dad always used to have a woodworking project going on in our basement. As a kid I loved to go watch him work and smell the fresh-cut lumber. He never had any power tools, so everything was done with hand saws, planers, hammers, screw dirvers and sanding blocks. I get a wonderful sense of blissful nostalgia watching your videos. Thanks so much. Sending a grateful hug from British Columbia. Best of luck on your journey.

I play around pallets a lot. Being a 70 year old grandma I try to make it as easy as possible. I purchased an air locker AP700 pneumatic nail remover gun. Got myself a large garbage can placed hard styrofoam on the bottom and a piece of plywood with a 2 inch opening for the top. It works like a charm. Don’t know how I ever did without. Well worth the investment. Love your work! 💕

@Yasminenature
@Yasminenature 7 месяцев назад
@@Andie1951 I use a large garbage can like about waist high. I placed styrofoam in the bottom to prevent the nails from bouncing up. I had an old piece of plywood that was a bit bigger than the top of the garbage can so I used it as a cover than a cut a 2 inch wide slit that goes approximately from the centre of the plywood to the edge of the plywood. Then I put my pallet board on top of the plywood with the head of the nail over the slit so the nail can go inside the garbage can. Hope this helps.

It's beautiful to see people stilling honing and practicing these arts. I call it art because of my stepdad. He was a true master at woodwork. His ability was flawless, his speed almost effortless, and he could make you anything you'd dream up. I watched him build a bench/guitar case that was shaped like a coffin, for a musician. The top of the bench flipped open like a piano seat, and inside were hinges that lifted up and out to hand you the guitar. The guy was so happy that we ended up building him kitchen table and chairs. I mostly helped with assisting and sanding 🤣😂 (wish I would've taken it more serious when I was a kid helping him) I play a bunch of instruments, write, and paint in acrylics & oils. So I did end up finding the artist in me...but I wish I had taken my creative nature into building things like this. Very cool

Congratulations on your marriage! I’m very happy that you’re finally using safety wood push tools on your table saw! It’s a great example of how to safely work! By the way, in August 2021, when I bought my home up in the northeastern mountains of Lanaudiere, Quebec, Canada, the whole property was filled with pallets … tons and tons of pallets on top of other pallets to the tune of close to 10 feet high and occupying a great portion of 35000 square feet!! Many pallets were rotting and attracting giant carpenter ants! Plus, I couldn’t see all the beautiful trees in the woods! So, needless to say that I gave a lot away and took all the rest apart and cut them up to burn in my indoor and outdoor fireplaces! this year 2023 I had a super major setback that prevented me from working outside and cutting more pallets (Which I really miss doing!), and I hope and pray to be able to continue in the spring & summer of 2024! Wishing everyone who watches this a Wonderful 2024! “Yucca” Joshua Tree

I was a paramedic. I responded to a 911call for a "cut finger". We got there and saw a man in his garage... Next to his bloody table saw holding his finger... Kinda attached. It much was more than a cut. Half of his finger was only holding on by the skin on the top. In woodworking school, I was taught to always use a push stick. Admittedly, before this other guys incident, I'd rip boards using my fingers. Albeit carefully. After seeing what a table saw does to fingers, I never worked without a push stick again. Lol.

It's so great to read other people's stories that actually sound like my own. I love nothing more than problem-solving my way through my wood projects. Every time, I learn something new. I don't know that I would like building something with all brand new wood, cuts done right the first time, and without the band-aids. The best part is making it all work in the end. Frustration feels better after you overcome it. It makes success feel that much better. I build things for myself, not for sale. So I'm okay with imperfections here and there. My issue is space. No garage, shop space. I only have my yard and closets to store tools. The dream is for a workshop. Nothing else, haha. Jk Paint and Wood Craft Studio! Happy Creating!

I’m a retired dental hygienist and I used four pallets that I picked up free to make a hanging garden unfortunately pallets don’t work well outside in the California weather so one of them after a few years fell off the wall but the connections are still good I think I’m gonna repeat it but I’m gonna Revise it. A little bit pallets are wonderful and you work is amazing. It popped up on my RU-vid when I couldn’t sleep and I was hooked. I spent couple hours watching your Construction and with envy since my hands are not working like they used to. I’m going to share your videos with my grandkids, you are amazing and I am the people that purchase your useful artwork. Online and that elevated Desk is absolutely gorgeous.

Umm... It's not because it's California weather... Wood in general does not do well with moisture for long periods, and since a hanging garden would receive its fair share of water you were lucky that it held for that long. Wood gets soft and weak due to moisture. You should maybe seal the wood beforehand the next time round.

I can hardly wait to see your next project. I don't comment often but you are terrific and wanted to let others know. BTW, I use my husbands account, I'm a female, have celebrated my 50th birthday 23 times and am absolutely thrilled about starting some of what you have done! THANK YOU

WOW!! Thats one of the best videos I have seen. I usually dont leave any comments, Because I usually get bored and stop before the end. but I learned so much in just one video. I had to watch the whole clip to the end. I really liked the diamond shape table, that was NICE! I wish I would have seen this video before it was sold. I would have bought it. thank you so much, Morley. Stay Cool. and positive in all your work.

Just found your channel and love it ! Beautiful table you made; well worth the money. Over 25 years ago, I had a friend who made some bathroom cabinets out out of pallet wood and they were amazing. The hardwood that makes up the pallets really turn into a work of art.

Yucca! Outstanding job. You may have heard me screaming at you while you were struggling with the bend. But you got through it. My dream is to live a van life as I pull an enclosed trailer with my wood shop in it. God speed and keep up the great projects.

Blueberries, Pineapple & Yucca. 😂 Me and my husband absolutely loved this video! We came across it completely randomly. You have completely inspired us! A few years ago, we used to build pallet furniture. And this made us really miss it! When it's just me and my husband, in the shop, the smell of fresh cut wood, wood stain etc... We forget everything else. It's just the two of us and our creative minds, working together to build beautiful works of art. That we and others can truly appreciate. There is nothing better than a handmade piece of furniture! It can last forever if it's well taken care of. And it's so fun to see when a piece of furniture like yours, is passed down to another generation. Everything is made so cheap these days. So thank you for what your doing. Especially for inspiring us to come back together and start our own pallet furniture adventure again! We subscribed and look forward to watching all of your content!

Pineapple!!! What an awesome video. I love everything you're making out of pallets. My wife is always wanting me to make something out of pallet wood and every time we see a pallet on the side of the road or something, she says, "hey, there's a pallet we should pick it up." Lol Congrat's on your marriage!!!

Blueberries, pineapple, yucca!! Thanks for sharing some epic transformations giving a new, beautiful life and purpose to some sad retired palette timber. Those hardwoods came up sooo nice. You’ve given me some great upcycling ideas for furnishing my current build for next to nothing.

Man you scared the crap outta me pushing that pallet slat through the saw blade with your fingers...I saw a man's 4 fingers fly all over the workshop one time and had to go find them and pick them up and get em ice so they could sew them back onto his mangled hand....it took one split second to happen and I saw it in slow motion...please be more careful

I own a furniture store and an employee was cutting down plywood and he had taken the gard of the table saw and he's hand went thru the saw and cut his little finger completely off and broke several fingers. It was a horrible experience . Get a push tool so it takes the brunt of the saw instead of your hand. I was cringing watching you cut your wood down. ALWAYS BE SAFE. I know it will never happen to you so you think.😮😢

Yucca! (You-ka) i cant tell you how inspiring this video is and it kept my spirits up through a long hard day of work taking calls from upset people; ive been on a bing of crafting videos from restoring old cabins to building them from scratch to making huge self succient water systems and gardens to 50 caliber soccer shoes lol to making powerful sling shots and then this, and i always see this energy of positivitey and hope and resourcefulness and activism throughtout everyone and it makes me want to be an artisan and craftsman and be free of the desk job and to learn to be self suficent and free, i want to live that dream
