The guys take a new 2WD F-150 and turn it into a PreRunner! Then, Evan Evans gives up an inside look at what it takes to be an off-road racing champion. Back in the shop, there's u-joint and driveshaft tech!
It's hard to believe that the last 20 plus years has passed us by so quickly since the original "TRUCKS" premiered with Mel and Stacy as the hosts. Those were the days.
I learned all my basic mechanic skills from these shows back in the ‘90s. Common stuff that a 12 year old just didn’t understand until (I at least) saw them do it.
Respect to evans to keep racing despite losing his leg control. That’s determination and will too many abled people and will not understand. I have been with back problems and leg problems doing auto mechanic apprenticeship and school for paint and body tech. Daily a manual car too. I may be in pain and lack strength now recovering but if you have the passion for automotive like I do and evan you could find a way to do it.
Waiting for mel to put on a clear rain suit, turn on some 80's Phil Collins and axe murder Stacy.........if you've seen the movie "American Psycho".......you might get the joke, lol. Great episode, I just bought an 03' F-150 off road package truck......and dreaming of all the cool things I could do to it, lol.
Kinda thought the same thing. I think prerunner I think exactly what you said. Kinda want to give my Silverado 4x4 the prerunner treatment. Just really expensive since I lack the skill to do the work.
Yeah. Tires with even a moderately aggressive tread are noisy. I am running Nitto Terra Grapplers on my Silverado and they are a bit annoying at highway speed.
It does affect steering geometry..you lose turning radious..I've done plenty of the low budget lifts..I even have a tundra,,my personal truck with 4 inch spindle..it turns like a school bus
