So would it be safe to assume, that your guitar sound is like a hybrid deal, the ox is for us but the feel of the air moving, the cab is for the band? For the sake of feeling good, which I totally agree with and get, I know this is like watch the video again dude, but I'm just not there,
In two words: Holy Shit. I’ll be on the stream, but I want to say, how can you not appreciate the time and effort you’re all putting in. From the band, to the dude mixing in the HVAC studio, to your Dad and Tilly, let me say thank you for all you’re doing.
Rhett might be the coolest, most down to earth musician that we can all relate to - such a humble, great guy - thanks again & looking forward to the show tomorrow.
It's difficult to understand just how much hard work has gone into making this happen until you're confronted with this walkthrough ... So many potential nightmares in every section, yet you've overcome them all in such a short amount of time while also building and rehearsing a new band, as well as for the most part keeping your RU-vid channels flowing... Respect to all involved and I hope from this point forward it's easy sailing and nothing but enjoyable for all of you! ... Can't wait for the first show! 👍😎
How cool, Rhett! Thanks for the detailed rundown. I'm sure it'll have a few hiccups but just know you have a forgiving audience of people that believe in what you're doing and completely enjoy your sharing spirit! I'm excited to watch and learn!
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! I've had a crappy day, and once I finally got home and was able to relax I saw this video in my feed and I said "THANK GOD THERE'S A COOL VIDEO TO WATCH!" I'm a super gear nerd guitarist who also plays keyboards and a little bass and drums. And I love ALL the gear. I had a Rhodes back in the 80's and I loved it, but at 120 pounds it didn't make the move to Florida when I moved here. Great video!
Rhett, looking forward to it the live series. Thank you for spending so much time, energy and money to do this. Hope all goes well with no issues whatsoever. Peace!
I love that bass! The first clip I saw of it I spent hours searching through photos of what it could be! Saving up for that for sure! I love short scales!
If 2020 gave us nothing else, it gave us musicians bringing us wonderful content like this. The music geek in me smiled so many times during this video. Thanks for being so through giving us each and every detail. I love musical sound exploration and this was a delight!!!
Wow..just wow. Great video. Really tells how much has and is going into making this stream. Way more than I could have imagined. Thank you all for putting it together and I can't wait to see the show!
Really amazing at you and the band to really commit to delivering in times that make playing live practically unavailable at the moment. Really wish the best for you guys. And also really awesome that you are doing this live show on my Birthday......
Rhett Shull my daughter would like to make your “Backstage Live” band a poster? Are you still accepting posters? She loves your teaching style and your knowledge of gear!
A lot of leakage problems would be solved with a drum booth. You can get clear acrylic panel kits that work really well for under $600. We have one at our church for the worship band's drummer.
Man the keys player is just baddass. Not only does he have more vibe than any one is entitled to but his rig is sweet and he runs through the origin effects revival drive!! Too cool
Hey Rhett, my daughter would like to paint your “Backstage Live” band a poster? Are you still accepting posters? She really wants to help you and she loves your teaching style!
Well you have set the bar, wish you loads of success and great things to come to your team. so my respects to all you guys and remember to stay safe to be well.
really cool that you have such a nice setup in your own home. looks stellar. i work at a studio that's now doing frequent livestream concerts, so seeing this is pretty interesting. all in all our processes are mostly the same. all of our mics and DIs go into pro tools where we send a stereo mix to that same black magic switcher with 8 cameras. that gets sent to another computer which broadcasts the stream, and we have a third computer for monitoring the stream. cool stuff!
Fantastic studio. I am excited for you guys. As an audience member, I am excited about watching a show, then ordering either CD or DVD versions of the sessions, etc. - I may be reading between the lines but think that would be an awesome option if made available. Awesome, folks.
Thanks for letting us see your set up. Incredible amount of work you and your team put in. Can't wait for the show!! Will be watching from Sydney, Australia.
When you begin touring again please come to Houston! Hopefully there will still be venues in business that are the right size for your show. We have a house of blues and other small to midsize venues.
I'm overwhelmed with all the tech gear musicians have to learn. I found that just practicing my instrument, learning new material and gigging took up most of my days. I can't imagine trying to learn & setup the gear Rhett's band is using. I wonder if Rick Beato will set in for some of these shows? A lot of RU-vidrs would love seeing him play.
Hi Rhett ... hello from over here in Sunny Cornwall in the UK ... love your channel and the cool 1st look around your new project, good luck with the new venture it will be epic I’m sure and I look forward to tuning in to watch when it all goes live ✌🏼🎸👍🏼🙂
Man, these videos really make me want to go out and play with people but I have no friends who play or are even interested. Been a bedroom guitarist for over 2 years now :(
I love everything about this! Keep it up Rhett! Also, Jamie is the Indian Jones of music, Phil is an artistic genius, and Chad may be one of the most handsome drummers I've ever seen (at least from the nose up and the neck down)!
I saw the live video and loved it! So impressed with the performances, the sound and the look. You didn’t mention the lighting. Are those clip-on lights? WiFi RGB bulbs?
Small world, I set up an ATEM Mini Pro audio feed Thursday. Be aware that the max input level on that puppy is +6dBu. I ended up with 20dB pad and iso xfmrs out of the console...
Setup looks nice, Rhett. You need to look at BlackMagic's new ATEM Mini Pro they announced this week. It has a complete streaming engine built into the device. Also, does recording to disk, in case there are any Internet glitches. As I said it was just announce, so available soon for $595. Best of luck with the show. We will be watching.
I have a busted old multi vox multi echo in my closet with no tape that I got for free from a barn find basically. After seeing JHS’s video and now yours on it, I think it’s time to start investigating what it would take to make it functional....
Amazing set-up and big investments I really hope that it will be a fantastic success, I'm not sure that I can catch the live stream from west of France but I keep my fingers crossed and wish you a fabulous show
