I love your sense of humor "I'm not an expert, but this has every indication of being a wet spot". This was fascinating. Thanks for sharing this, Chris.
It would be nice if both landowners would work together to dredge it out and turn that whole ugly mess into a proper beautiful pond that they could both enjoy.
That’s the thing with neighbors. Sometimes you feel like you hit the lottery and other times ….well, not so much. We shared fence lines with 2 neighbors, one quickly chipped in when we let him know what we were doing….the other made all sorts of recommendations then “grew alligator arms” when it was time to share the bill. Later, she had the gall to ask if *my* trees were going to block *her* view of *my* pond….yeah, probably so
@@genesispuredeaf2390 That sort of neighbor must be more common than we expect. I have one who would present such a suggestion as being a "win win" proposition.
Definitely a first for Chris. It's goung to seriously help keep down the mosquito population once it's cleared out if they stock it with fish and it gets a healthy frog population as well. As is that backyard has to be a mosquito hell in the summer. We all know that Chris is the pond master when it comes to restoring a neglected pond.
In the 70s, my father had a swamp dredged to make a pond. He went to the State, and invited them to release trapped beavers in to the pond (very new concept at the time). They released dozens of beavers. They all looked at the muddy mess he created and left. 😆 Took about 5 years for it to settle, and the beavers to start moving back in. Last I seen it, there were dozens of beaver lodges.
I think once Chris is done, the beavers will be so impressed that they’ll pass the word on and other beavers will be hiring Chris to fix their pond dams. :) In all seriousness there is no one that does this sort of work better than Chris, and I’ve see quite a few others.
I’ve watched this guy for a while. I don’t think many viewers really understand the finesse he has developed on working that bucket. Many of us operate but few develop the finesse to smooth a job the way he does. Cudos sir. I’m impressed
Watching you work in swampy pond rebuilds are my favorites from all your projects, pretty satisfying seeing you shape mud banks almost artistic work, nice job !
Hey Chris You gotta do more of these types of jobs . Your energy level and enthusiasm are way up ! Super positive ! You figuring out wacky jobs is very entertaining to watch.
Beavers the best dam builders there are, really nice that your working along side and helping them. No doubt after you've waved you magic wand, it will look like a million dollars. 👍🤗
Ive never seen you do that type pond before with a beaver dam but the beavers will continue to do the part hopefully and make a very nice pond. Keep up the gteat work my friend.
Post 10 will love this one - fixing a beaver pond! What a great idea to preserve what is and just 'fix it up a bit' to make a lovely pond. A first for sure and yes can see you enjoy this work.
This is a first a reclamation project for beavers and future good soil. Cool project, do not sink, LetsDig18 will have to rescue you. :) Thank you and have a great day. PS You would have to mention snakes! :)
Chris, nice job! You really have a creative mind to turn a beaver pond back into a lake very talented, can’t wait to see the end result I know it will be great!
Scary stuff watching Chris in this giant mud pie ready to sink. What dawned on me was realizing i cant question anything Chris does. I think that's what makes it so entertaining. Wouldn't catch me doing this!
So… Chris took the long way around to say he is formed a pond repair partnership with a gang of beavers… 🤣🤣🤣 I don’t think I’ve ever seen Chris let nature takes its course with a pond dam… 🤣🤣🤣 Some of the best of Chris's videos have him in sketchy situations... like when the bucket sinks deep unexpectedly. You can hear the trepidation in his voice. I'm glad Chris still uses the old 220 on projects. It was his first brand new piece of heavy equipment and my personal favorite out of all of his equipment. I listen to the old 220 as much as watch the video. It always has the same 1800 rpm sound. I bet Chris can hear it in his sleep.
I always enjoy these jobs Chris, different but I like watching you make ugly look great my friend! Like that long time ago “Minnow Pond” , it looked so bad and you turned it into an amazing looking pond! That was a long time ago! Just what you’ve done so far looks 100% better Chris, good job “Pond Master “! Kirk from Louisiana, take care and can’t wait to see more! Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Chris whenever you post videos, it's like having a guest in the house that you hate to see leave. I am glad to see you back in the "BEAUTICIAN MODE". I am waiting for the "Letsdig18: unedited extended versions.
The pond master at work again your insight is amazing to make something out of nothing truly brilliant to watch how can one man and a machine achieve so much as far as I am concerned best channel on RU-vid 🎉
Never a dull moment right Chris. Beavers did most of the work, just had to build in gooey swamp. NYA Millienal might subcontract his duck flood to you next season 😅
Yes, this is a first for you fixing a pond for beavers. The Pond Master back and enjoying it. I bet you would be more at ease if you were on mats to start this project but we know how you can dig a machine out like that rental that you & Uncle Jon rescued. I like Jonathan W`s name for snakes - Copperheaded rattle moccasins.
Jobs like that means you handle the dirt or mud twice or three times regardless you are an artist and it will come together. great content, great channel
Talking about staying on your toes cause of how soft it is out there. Thats the type jobs I love!!!! There's nothing like feeling that one side drop down a foot or so and your booty drawing a knot in the seat from puckering 😂😂!! Man I love this stuff
😳 O boy now it’s getting sketchy! Treading where the faint of heart dares to go , it’s a bird it’s a plan no it’s just Chris doing another pond job! 😎👍
We all love the clearing brush and burning videos but really this is the reason we subscribed to your channel was for you working in the swamp in the mud!!!
That's more of a stream to me, Chris. It's not wide enough to be a creek. When I was living in a place called Cooks Mills, at the end of my father's property, that waterway was called Lyons Creek. The road north of it was called Lyons Creek Road. Cooks Mills is at the eastern side of Welland. It was a wonderful place to live, before I moved out in November of 1991.
Well sir, project pays the bills, you get to do your favorite thing and that is to “SLICK THINGS UP” and it may even impress those little dam builders some. Have fun with the project and thanks for taking us along.
Yep !! I believe if it was a few more weeks into Spring, You would be getting a bucket full of snakes every other scoop !! lololol.... I got to laughing when it started to get deep out there , You said, " Ok , I'll be back in a little bit once I get this laid on back" !!! lololololol....Oh Man !! makes for some good times, don't it Chris !! lolol.... Yeah, I'm sure you'll have the mats with ya on the next trip there...lolol....Well, got a Great start to it, sure it's going to turn out nice , they always do !! Have a Great Weekend, And a Great evening, And, On too the Next !!
This would be a perfect job for the new 220. Being able to use the tilt bucket and thumb together to move mats around would be awesome. But it wouldnt be ideal to get a new machine out in a swamp
So do I. I’d say Chris has more than financially recovered from that purchase. Without this machine he wouldn’t have been able to grow his business to where it is now.
That's a First - Helping the Beavers - wow - looks like a very Interesting Project ! Great Drone View ! Fantastic Progress and more to do Tomorrow - hey - looking Forward to it ! You are a Good Thinker and Worker ! Cheers from Australia !!!!
That’s funny about the neighbor. After you’re done, they’re going to see a nice pond on the customers land and will probably call you back to fix their side
Might have been time ahead to cut a fire line around the gras and burn it before cutting the root mass out. Much less debris to deal with anyway. Love the content!
So... neighbors don't want to pay to get their side done. What's going to happen is that they will see how nice it is. They'll call someone in who can do it cheaper... They'll come in and start, get stuck, butcher it all up in the process... and ol' Chris will still have to come out to the rescue
This may be a first for you, but it is for me, too! I've never seen anyone working to "improve" a beaver pond. It's usually quite the opposite. The beavers and land owners will have a nice pond, brought to them courtesy of LD18. Nice!!!
In Canada we are not allowed to just dig out established ponds and waterways ,most of our wetlands are zoned environmentally protected even on private property gotta protect the frogs cheers
That happens in NC too. Check out one of Chris video series where he had to tear out a dam because it threatened a road. It was a beautiful pond, but it had a breach and wasn't rebuilt properly so it had to go. They made the property owner keep the former pond area as wetland and replant it with certain wetland plants.
Mrs Beaver: "Mr Beaver you better get out there those hoomans are attacking our dam" Mr Beaver: "Nope!" Mrs Beaver: "Don't tell me 'nope'. Get out there Mr beaver!" Mr Beaver: "Nope. They fixing the dam so I am putting my paws up" Mrs Beaver: "WUUTT?? I am speechless" Mr Beaver "Goddam thats a first. Thank you hoomans!"
