Turning a Hill into a Flat(er) backyard pt/2

With 2 small kids and no place to play they needed a solution. We cut out the hill, install a retaining wall, flatten out the top and flatten out the lower portion and build them a new yard- start to finish.

On the string line, hold it on the brick of the house a few feet back from the corner then move the other end until the string touches the brick. Much more accurate way than eye-balling.

@mannya9700
@mannya9700 Год назад
@@Paap810 went well, took my time and worked on it after rains when the ground was soft. It's all rocks from pebbles to boulders and clay where I live so it took some muscle at times but completely doable. A pick axe was a must to dig out the large rocks and pry them out of the ground. Only have one rock thats to large to move but it's turned into a nice landscape feature now so it worked out. The only real challenge was finding the motivation to do it in my spare time.

Stan, check out getting some tailgate mates! They funnel aggregate from dump trailers and dump trucks into a skid loader bucket or wheelbarrows, etc. super strong magnetic guides. Maybe if you bought a jack hammer and got the tamper attachment which I have you could do those tight spots more efficiently. I own a Hitachi PH-65A jack hammer that I bought new off of EBay and bought the tamper attachment which is about 8 inches by maybe 10 and it’s good for those tight spots. I bought the attachment on EBay too.

Just a suggestion for you gasoline equipment, especially if you think it might sit for extended periods of time; get what is called marine / RV gas, it doesn't have the ethanol in it that causes problems with equipment that might sit for 3 to 5 months without running. I have been doing that for my snow blower and lawnmower gas for the last few years. I don't even drain the fuel out of them any more and have no problem starting them at the start of the next season for the equipment. Yes that gas is more expensive than pump gas but it's worth it.
