This wood is not really know of, and is pretty much never used for woodworking. Here is a short demo on what it looks like, how it turns, and what it smells like(It's bad). Enjoy!

Palo Verde cuts so easily because it is a soft wood and the tree is full of water (it's a desert plant). The problem with Palo Verde is that it warps and cracks as it dries. When I turn it, I have to do it three times with drying time in between. And any small cracks in your piece will become bigger cracks as it dries. However, if you do get it finished, it is a beautiful yellow-green wood that looks wonderful with a glossy finish.
I know! I don't want to pester the man, he's obviously got stuff going on… but it's been months, and the ironcaster is 99+% finished! The suspense is agonizing.
