So sad these companies are greedy and creating e-waste by making their products proprietary. These machines have so much life in them. Good job trying to keep it out of the waste bin even though its a bit jank. 😂
the reason the cpu cooler didnt work is bc it was a 3pin not a 4 pin, i have an aftermarket cpu cooler that works just fine but its 4 pin, also i have an aftermarket case fan and it works too. so if your gonna do aftermarket fans, cpu coolers etc make sure its 4pin
Different pinout for the fan and need to rearrange wire to correct one, causing shorting on motherboard, i know because i got to change dell stock cooler to intel stock cooler
Did a similar build for around $150. Got a 3020 ($20) case I gutted for another build, got a $15 optiplex 3070 Mobo for the 4 ram slots, 4x8gb timetec ram for $32, an i5-4590 for $12 and a 1650 super for $70. The psu of the 3020 is 290w but needed a SATA to 6 pin for the GPU. The 3050s only draws 100w which the Mobo provides 75w and the sata provides the 25w additional needed. The CPU draws 84 w so there's alot of wats left for periferials and fans.
Love the videos man! I was just wanting to see if you got another optiplex case swap video and you just uploaded!!! I’m trying to recreate this for an optiplex 7080 with intel i7 10700. Btw you can jump the middle two pins on the power switch connect and it will get rid of the error. The jumper is like 3 usd for 200 of them.
on your next video like this, get something like a acer veriton m2361, because the bracket for the cpu cooler isnt part of the case, the IO shield isnt either, and it uses a standard ATX power supply with standard 24pin power connecter
you should really try the HP Prodesk 400 G3 its basically the same as an 600 G2 but it has 0 proprietary annoying things, it has detachable IO Shield, 24 Pin power connector, a second USB 3.0 connector next to the 24 Pin and im not sure but i think it has a detachable CPU Cooler Bracket and of course it has stantard M-ATX screw emplacement :) (Edit : I bought one and yes it has detachable cpu bracket 👏🏻👏🏻 and the second "USB 3.0" connector isn't actually an USB 3.0 but a "COMB" connector, it's some HP adapter thingy but you can still buy a 90 degrees adapter for the usb 3.0 that's blocking the GPU :)
The fans in the case dont connect to the motherboard, only to the power supply with SATA and MOLEX cables. The motherboard doesnt have connectors for that unfortunately
@@crimsontechyt oh well today my 24 to 8 pin connectros came in and i case swapeped my dell optiplex 9020 to my corsair 4000D and i took ur advice used the power switch but mines only woked on the far right and the mobo fit amazing another thing to note is that the hdd n ssd fits nicely only thing u gotta worry about is the front i/o usb-c and the reset switch not working appearently or atleast not fitting next to the power sw but other than that the pc works amazing and dont forget the temp at the front
Hello! I am thinking about turning my Dell Optiplex 7070 into a gaming rig! But, I do not know what bracket do get for the motherboard. Can you recommend me a CPU Fan with a bracket that will support my motherboard, and Dell CPU Fan?
The office i worked at ran on i3 3rd gen and pentiums and they are planning to upgrade now to i5 8th gen 💀. Idk how they work, every menu and click takes 10 secs to register and open.
@@Crabery nahh their software is fine , it's pretty snappy on one of their more modern systems ( the only i5 -8th gen) . They even intentionally didn't upgrade to the latest version to avoid compatibility issues. The only software drawback is lack of features available on newer versions
I used the backplate that came with the new cooler. You can also just buy a backplate seperately, but the cooler was only 5€, so it wasn't a huge deal to me.
Honestly its a better idea to just get any standard cheap atx or m atx mobo to transfer the cpu and ram into for a chipset that supports the cpu In this case a h310 mobo would have done just fine Its like 50 bucks or so used on ebay Maybe even cheaper if u look in the local marketplace a Bent pcb No front io No io shield no cooler upgradibility And gpu limitation to the point that you had to choke it with a riser Are enough reasons to do so What you spent on the riser/ psu adapter and cooler to get a backplate are enough to just get an another board with i think
I just bought a dell optiplex 7050 and windows 10 was already installed but how do I connect to the WiFi. I can’t use a Ethernet cable since my WiFi router is too far away
If it has a wifi card installed, you can simply download the necessary drivers from Dell's website. If you dont have one, you need some kind of wifi adapter to be able to connect to wifi
If the PSU stays on, the PCs fans and RGB will stay on, so it needs to be turned off when the PC turns off. And when the PSU is turned on, the PC boots immediately. So there's no need to use the power button :)
No, that was a random Chinese nameless brand, Xilence is pretty well known in Germany :) I've used their PSUs tens of times, and haven't had any issues so far
@@crimsontechyt u selling urself short,I think you could come up with some amazing stuff,u already doing what I bet a huge percentage of people can't or won't do, nway awesome video non the less,n yeah Dell OEMs SUCK!!!!!
My best pc i ever had was a lenovo idea pad 110 that i got from my mum after 10 years of use and i still have it it can't eaven run roblox smooth on the lowest graphics settings i am saveing up for a better one but geting only like 20$ a month and not eaven guaranteed is not very good i have 6000 kč which is like 240$ not eaven close to a pc
gewoon nieuw moederbord, heb ook een medion en wou de cpu upgraden. moederbord heeft geen bios updates dus geen support. gelijk naar een asus b550A wifi ii gegaan
Lmao, this whole build went downhill haha. Here is a few tips. 1. If Use PWM fans for the cooler and exhaust, then you don't have to keep stock cooler and fan. I've put a tower cooler into my optiplex with itas original case and have no issues. 2. 8th and 9th gen optiplexs cant handle long gpus. You need to get a case with vertical mounting or buy a vertical mount (may need to cur the pcie bars). 3. Most optiplex cant handle GPU larger than 2 slots. 4. Jump the middle two pins of the power switch with a jumper to get rid of the power button error. 5. You can buy make dual USB to internal USB 3 to get some of the front i/o working. 6. You can fill the case to hole holes for standoff. 7. 1660 super/ ti is the highest card you can run with dual sata to pcie 8pin with the 260w psu.
Yeni kasaya para vereceğine eski kasayı kullanmaya devam etseydin keşke. Yeni kasa parasına da 2666 MHz destekleyen anakart alırdın, CPU 2666 MHZ destekli performans kaybı olmazdı. Bunu yapmak yerine Dell kasasına orta parmağını gösteriyorsun ilginç...
