Deb I love your long detailed videos cause they're way more helpful than anything else I've ever used for learning, but these speedy "quick and dirty" ones are sooo good to watch as I'm ready to practice cause with these im not standing in my skates in the middle of the road watching you explain things for 10 mins while already forgetting the first step haha! You seriously have no idea how great of a person you are! Not only are you generous enough to give skating lessons to complete strangers online for free, but you're also one of the best teachers I've ever had. I had only gone skating twice before quarantine: on ice I couldn't move, on wheels I couldn't /stop/ moving (until, you know, the floor needed a hug) and now I've been skating every day just trying out your tutorials and I am so proud of myself. I can do so much!! And I'm not giving the floor as many "hugs"!! You are the best!!!! 😊💚

I use to skate as a kid but I was never any good. I started again as an adult with my kids. Now my kids are amazing at it and I suckkkkk. However, I've been watching a ton of your videos and while I haven't really mastered anything yet, I do feel like your videos are good solid info and they do make me feel like I stand a chance lol.

I'm so struggling with this. Great instruction but something is not clicking in my head. I cannot roll and transition, I have to come to a stop. I'll keep trying

If you keep practicing, it will come natural to you! Hang in there! I im not a professional skater, but have skated from elementary school age through my twenties,&did all the moves smoothly. I'm now 50 yrs. old,& need practice, mainly bc my joints arent in the shape tgey were waaay back then😂,& I've developed an issue with dizziness/vertigo over tge yrs. as well, but you'll get tge hang of it!😉

Last night I watched this video, practising in my bedroom with no skates on, just transferring weight and visualising myself doing a transition. The other day at our local roller skating rink, my friend was practicing a backwards dip and I was like “Wow…that looks so smooth!” and she replied “I learned it from watching Debbie”; so I asked “Who’s Debbie?” and she went like “From the Dirty School of…” Before she could finish her sentence, I said “Oh “that” Debbie! Its been 30 years since I've had skates on. Took my 14 year old and friends to her birthday skate party, I didn't skate but somehow had a strong desire to once again. Bought a pair of VNLA Brass Knuckle 3.0 (Over the top). Haven't been to the rink yet because now I have cold feet. Ain't that the truth. I have been incredibly fortunate as my family opened this rink in 1976 and I had already been skating at 2 other rinks prior. Growing up in this place was soooo much fun.

Thanks Debb send me a few of them smokes they seem to be working ,just ( Kidding ) In all my years skating I can not remember how I learned too turn around , I Haven't been on my skates in 19 years all the rink's around here W.N.Y. are gone ,But a gal in my bank and a good friend are going to go to Erie soon and we will see how it goes .Oh I set these girls up with great wheels and bearings and they have been outdoors for the summer.My legs don't work like they use too but I think I can still stand on skates.My state teacher always use to hit me under the chin and say head up !Charlie.

@@jimbobaggans1564 Thanks for the come back Jimbo we had a great rink in Jamestown but they closed also what a beautiful hard maple floor it was and We did go to the Rink in Depew adult night was Wed there and our adult skate was Mon /Thursday in Jamestown N.Y.In the summer all the skaters would get together every Wed and we would go biking in a town of one of the skaters ,The Rink was shut down in the summer .What great times we had. Charlie.
