Yeah I think the heteronormative gender stereotypes can be very confining and extremely toxic! Let people just be/act however they feel...which can change from moment to moment. From what I've observed, Ezee has done a pretty good job of challenging those gender norms / stereotypes both through her actions and by just calling it out. At any rate, it was a funny video. Love your reaction as usual!

@x Sure, gay people can align themselves with traditional gender norms/stereotypes as well. But, those norms/stereotypes are rooted in heteronormative ideals. Not blaming the heteros...just stating a fact.

I totally agree about the antiquated gender roles in society, I think that it makes it almost impossible for people to fully feel accepted in society who are not strictly masculine or feminine. But I also think it’s part of the fact that we are in a heteronormative world because femininity is often attributed to and used to identity gay men, which can also lead people to say that gay men who are masculine are not actually gay or it’s not okay to be masculine and gay. The same also goes for females who dress in masculine clothes, it seems that they just have to be lesbian and that’s not the case at all. So yh I think gender roles are both confining and limit to a certain extent open mindedness. Damn I did another whole ass ted talk

The gender roles are out of control. I'm learning the LGBTQ community first hand with my daughter and the tears I've shed from the stories I've heard from especially her best friend which I actually brought to live we us after his parents disowned him because of his sexuality. I cant replace his parents but I can love on him and show him that there is nothing wrong with him. I he got his nails done the first time for halloween and the excitement on his face made my year. Any advice you can give me to continue to support him would be greatly appreciated. When my daughter came out to us my response was ok cool what you want for dinner. I know everyone is different but I love my daughter and idgaf who she loves as long as they treat her right. My sons always talked about how all the girls in school was on her lol. Shes kinda like ezee as far as being dominate but girly. She will have a purple mohawk with a crazy design cut into it then come back with a sew in. All I knew was that was going to support her and never make her feel any different.

@x I am encouraging him to be who he really is regardless of how anyone else feels about it. What should I do shun him?. I k how about the times he took 20 pills because he didn't understand why he was gay and wanted to be accepted or die. I know about the time he put the trigger to his head but the gun jammed. Judge me all you want in these comments but in my real life I'm going to continue because sometimes people need to stop judging stfu and listen and if you don't agree that's cool when I get to the gates of heaven it's not you who will decide the fate of my soul. I encourage him to live in his truth because who the FUCK would choose to be homosexual in this judgemental ass society ever stopped got outside your little mind and thought who in their right mind especially a male would chose to deal with the ridicule and shame of society daily. Sorry you dont like it but guess what his life and happiness means more to me then whoever feelings on this internet, no disrespect you may not even care but visit one of these homeless shelters or "houses" meet some of the people especially teens who have been thrown out neglected and disowned because of who they love. I will never judge and I will always support my daughter, him and the entire LGBTQ community IN EVERY ASPECT!!! I'm a mama bear and I will protect mine at all cost. My love for them is really unconditional and if you've never experienced with someone the stage of accepting themselves please dont judge them. Nobody is choosing to be shunned by society for who they love. Gay is not a choice imo. If you were in my shoes would a few nails for 1 day really bother you when you know that baby story nails ain't shit. Bullet to the brain is way worst then a few nails and glue PERIOD

Absolutely hilarious! Nat don't need to worry about being masculine--clearly not her thing. Yes, you are right, there is a lot of toxicity when it comes to gender roles. A majority of them were developed during a time where the family structure is vastly different from the "average" family of today. If it works for you, great--if not, you shouldn't be bound to it.
