As a retired RN, I know you guys are tired of hearing me repeat it but you MUST protect your lungs and eyes from construction debris ! You are young now but the damage can sneak up on you as you age and do more projects ! I care about your health as should you ! Sorry for coming off like a granny !
Do not apologize. I came to say the same thing. I have known a few people who have had permanent eye damage including blindness that could have been easily prevented.
Spot On but they do t se to hear us AT ALL! And Billy, may I suggest the backsplash should cover the entire face of those wall above the counters not just in front of the sinks Dear. It’s a kitchen and things splash everywhere. We love you guys or we WOULD NOT BOTHER cautioning you-PLEASE HEAR US!
No Billy looking finished as they are is not practical Hon in a kitchen. They really should go wall to wall because food prep is messy and you don’t want to be repainting constantly when you could have taken care of this now.
Billy the coffee maker reminds me of Dr. Who’s (Daleks )! Clive is multi talented too ! Smart to keep your group of friends and gifted workers close ,the kitchen is beautiful ❤
Love how the backsplash pattern mimics the fireplace and the classic lines of the woodwork in the cupboards. It also allows the floor “diamonds to be their own star show
Watching your videos is my afternoon break! I love them so much. You have done such terrific work on the convent and chateau. Thanks for including us in your life walk.
The convent kitchen is beautiful! I enjoy all your videos, but I especially like watching you and Michael and friends working at your chateau. It’s your home and that makes it so special. Thanks for sharing your renovations with us.
@@choochoo9506I have the same Belfast sink and the almost same taps. They come with a sprayer and without . I have a sprayer, I don’t think there are on these but I might be wrong!
Billy and Plumber my loves. Excellent job on the plumbing. At last, water available. Trimming the backsplash will look beautiful. Until tomorrow. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya. 🍺🍺🙏🌈🌹👍😇🇺🇸🕊❤️🌞
Love all the videos but I love being back at the convent. I've watched since day one and I miss seeing the day to day at the convent. I watch the all the videos no matter where they take place.
Am I the only one who thinks that travertine should run wall to wall? No beading. Dated. Also, make sure to coat the travertine with a matte sealer as it's porous. It's looking gorgeous. Thanks for taking us along and for dealing with unsolicited advice! Designer from CA, USA
I’m also a designer from the states and I lived with a travertine backsplash exactly like this for years. You need to seal it every couple of years so of course we didn’t lol! Never had a problem. Messes wiped right up and hardly any giant pieces of food splash up to get into crevices.
It was my first thought that it should have run wall to wall as that space behind the sink is not overly expansive between the windows and to me it looked odd and not finished. Having said that, I absolutely think this kitchen is beautiful in every sense of the word and the windows sending in their magical light gives it a sense of serenity and enjoyment.
I can’t remember which film it was, that had a combat training machine that looked EXACTLY like that coffee machine! I keep expecting it to suddenly spin round and throw knives or something 🤣
Fantastic!! Seeing the water on is exciting! Kitchen is so impressive. Basement is definitely spooky. Say, Billy, looks like the control for the faucets are on the right side. I am left handed . . . I am as old as the hills, have always been a bit ambidextrous, and more as I got older. So, I would quickly adjust to water control on the right. I shall giggle if & when any fellow left handed folks comment -- especially someone blessed to be there in person. Love to the family & team, from Southern California, USA.
Tiles should protect walls behind every work surface. Splash a little raw egg onto the wall and then let it dry a little or a lot, then clean it. The kitchen is stunning. Great work, great job.
Please put in multiple shut offs so you can shut it off at any area for service, its not the pipes its now the fixtures that are always needing replaced
Coming to the finish line, everything looks great, was a long job, but worth it and I am happy that I took that journey with you and for allowing us to come along. Border tile is a great idea, that will look nice too. Billy you have such nice friends, nice to see that.
I put rubber liner under all my sink, just for that reason of keeping the base clean and damage free. I think it's perfect. Would love that kitchen myself.
Glad you are finishing off the backsplash with trim….it looks very lost right now up on the wall not going to the windows…definitely is overshadowed by that magnificent coffee urn!!😊
How satisfying it must be to reach this stage of your build. I just started watching and am so excited you chose the block back splashes. It adds the old character the room needed. I think the diamond would have clashed with the beautiful job you did on the floor. Now they both can shine and you feel your are in a historic kitchen
I'm sorry, but I can't contain my joy for you. Turning on the water for the kitchen for the first time is monumental. I am so happy for you. Now I'll watch the video.
Absolute perfection Billy your vision as been realised So much very very hard work both physically but also mentally So much going on behind the scenes and as such I truly admire you You are a total inspiration in showing us how to rescue and restore a wonderful historic building Thank goodness for your diligence and your ability to utilise social media and your filming and editing skills ❤
Pex pipe is great... There is also a connector that you can connect a metal pipe to a pex called a shark bite... This is what we ysed to redo all out water supply in our 113 year old house... Its inexpensive and lasts longer than any metal pipe could.. We learned a out pex system from my cousin who is a plumber...
Looks great Billy, when you said comments say backsplash should have been window opening to window opening along the whole breadth of the wall behind the sinks, I couldn't agree more, plus I would have brought the hight down by two courses of tile. A more pleasing shape perhaps, I love the new improved copper Dalek that splashes out coffee! where's the Tardis going, inside or out? lol
First I love watching the progress you are doing on both convent and Château. Love the backsplash even though I’m a full backsplash wall person it looks nice. One comment I keep seeing next to the stove or cooker as you say. As a cook I would have loved the same light on the right side of the cooker wall it looks a bit off. I only see half of the wall you know with the view of the cooker. But I wanted to say that before you place the tile. Either way I just wanted to comment that so ya could hear it before ya wall up the space. Your spaces are beautiful thank you for sharing. My husband and I watch daily to see how things are progressing. Would love an update on the cottage Michael when you’re up to it. That terrace has to be a bugger. Thanks again.
I hope you put several coats of sealer on your countertops, especially around the faucet and sink. I had butcher block counters in my kitchen, they were beautiful but, water is not your friend. I made sure to reapply a protective coating every one to two years. The tile backsplash looks very nice, I love the large sink and the faucet is so pretty. Gorgeous Billy!
Woo hoo, water! Be sure to seal around all pipes leading into the kitchen so that mice and spiders do enter your beautiful new area. Having water is a big deal. Congratulations! 👍👍👍
All your work is so beautiful - And all your trades-person friends are so jolly & skilled - the kitchen, the chateau, your grandparents' house, the organ ! - This channel is a joy to watch -- Cheers from Saskatchewan, Canada
Billy you have successfully turned a sow’s ear into a silk purse! I hope it will have a proper, fitting, first use that we and the family and friends can enjoy. A summer fiesta with tables in the courtyard, be it for a party or 10 or more at your discretion. Crack on, you are on a roll!🙏🏼❤️
Looks incredible, Billy. So much wonderful care in restoring this kitchen. Re: the tile, since people are commenting about wanting to extend the tile across all walls that the work surfaces run along, what if there were a shorter row of rectangle travertine tiles leading up to the bigger sink backsplashes? It could lend a little more unity but maintain those sink backsplashes as “showpieces.” Just a thought! Keep up the great work!
The kitchen is looking fantastic. Can’t wait to see where the coffee machine goes and see it being used. What’s the next project in the convent Billy? I guess the chapel floor to see what’s under those boards. Can’t wait for that, very exciting and interesting. Thanks for your Vlog Billy, love having breakfast, watching the Pethericks 👏👏❤️❤️🇦🇺
