@@AlbertaRanch I need a ranch name. Ferguson ranch don't stand out to me plus there's already a Ferguson ranch. Let me know which name sounds catchy if you don't mind. Spring creek ranch, Jack ass meadows 🤣 (joking) HH ranch (my great grandpa owned 700 acres it's all been sold but my 160 acres is 1 of the properties he leased. Then there's moldrup ranch which was my wife's name before I married her. Honestly I don't know. Like I don't even have a brand. I wish I had my great grandpa's brand. That would be cool.

I have only seen AI used in purebred operations around here. Certainly benefits but also very labour intensive. Not sure it would be possible with July / August breeding on pasture.

@@AlbertaRanch Thanks for the reply. One channel I watch produces purebreds for sale to other ranchers but the guy has a PhD in animal sciences and a niche market for specialty animals. I thought it may be more popular better to get a higher rate of conception and more animals which equals more money.
