Very nice job on the pens, I was a little confused at the holder at first until I realised you had fitted the brass tube internally, thank you for sharing, I'm looking to get one of these as a first lathe.
the Unimat is a versatile little machine , much better than my teaching skills LOL. my only excuse is that metal turning for model steam engines is really my thing
@@eifionjones559 This would be a whole new thing for me despite having worked in environments where I've watched others use machine tools so no apology needed re teaching skills, you looked very much like you knew what you were doing and the pens look fantastic. I'm really looking to try out a small lathe for metalworking and my watch work and dedicated desktop watchmakers lathes can be very expensive. Scouring ads found a few of these which is how I found your videos and I love the look of the build quality and flexibility of this, I love old well built tools and machinery and I could watch parts being turned all day, there's something quite satisfying and relaxing about it.
