Yes, I just did make a lathe stop. But I had to make another one.
Here is my second design - much simpler, easy to make using a drillpress a hacksaw and file. You can use it for every round tube stop.

Nice job…. I have both an SL and a Unimat 3….. unfortunately the U3 doesn’t have round ways to make a lathe stop as easy as this!

Thanks. I'm sure you can mill or use a saw and file and design a stop for the unimat 3. Mr. Pete has shown lathe stop designs for standard v ways. I find my lathe stop vital for easy lathe use - no fear of smashing into the chuck or cutting too deep... Go for it :)

Could you not have bored the hole in the lathe rather than using the drill ?

Well, sure. Just install a hss endmill in the drill press and peck at it. Since the hole was way offside I couldn't drill it as the drill would wonder and the resulting hole would not be in the center...
