Turning PROTON X50 into an AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE? Is driving HANDSFREE legal in Malaysia? 

bukapilot used in KommuAssist is a software fork of openpilot. As of current software version, bukapilot is unable to perform navigation, speed bump & traffic light/sign detection. Yes, bukapilot is able to perform cornering depending on vehicle model; and it will not accelerate while performing a cornering.

KommuAssist can enable: 1. Full range ACC and LKA, including low speed follow and standstill traffic (0km/h) with humane braking. 2. No need to tap the gas pedal/RES button to resume traffic jam auto follow even if the traffic is at 0km/h for prolonged period, allowing the driver to relax during traffic jam. 3. Removed "hold steering wheel" alert and replaced with driver facial monitoring to ensure driver is still focused while driving. This frees up your hand and allow you to perform minor tasks during low speed traffic. 4. The original LKA system might ping-pong (awkwardly trying to centre left & right) even if the lane line is clear. KommuAssist's steering control is strong and sensitive that can make smooth cornering. 5. Many cars' original ADAS system will suddenly deactivate if it does not detect lane line. The Kommu system will never self-deactivate because our AI software drives smarter with multi-priority decision making (lane line, lead car, divider, mud, grass etc.)

For now, the system has no navigation intelligence. Driver will have to activate the system only in suitable scenario (long distance driver, traffic jam etc.).

No it doesn't, it is designed to work together with the stock system. As a matter of fact, when my stock ADAS failed, I can't use Kommu assist as well. Afterall, the stock ADAS camera still need to function to control other things like auto headlight, and the radar for AEB

Nope, the stock ADAS is not disabled. We enhance the safety level by piggybacking KommuAssist on top of the stock ADAS.

The system can only integrate with cars that have ACC and LKA signals.

KommuAssist is powered by bukapilot (AI software) which is regularly updated for smoother cruise and is able to perform steeper cornerings. Yes, the system can be engaged at any moment. If there’s no lane line, it will follow the lead car’s path; and if lane line & lead car are both absent, the system will navigate following the road’s curvature (divider, grass, mud etc.)

Yes, X70 is in the plan, however, it will be in 2023 Q1 as we are now focusing on getting the software more stable for the supported vehicles. Please stay tuned!

@@kommuofficial noted. It will be interesting to see if the port can be possible. As far as o know the newer hardware has a better processing power and a better camera resolution but suffers a narrower field of view. Which May possible affect the autonomous capability.

​@@SiroccoSeven, C3 has 2 forward facing cameras. 1 with narrow view and the other is wider. I believe in recent update, they've used the wider 1. There is no "suffering" in C3 compared to C2. They have stop at traffic light and navigation but have yet to reach the users.

Can't be supported due to lack of electronic brake for cruise braking

We are well aware that X50's ICC has one of the best steering control for cruising. Our users install for 100% active system which will not disengage at uncertain moments (no lane lines, low speed steep cornering etc.). Also, we remove the need for engaging the pedal/RES button to resume ICC at standstill 0km/h.

Last time I check, our Passat doesnt even have LKAS (camera on the windscreen). I might be wrong. LKAS camera is where this system tap on the CAN bus to control the car.
