Cool. I didn't know you could use a gradient and transparency together. I thought transparency was just a shortcut for an opaque/transparent gradient. Nice!
Truly great tutorials. You obviously put a lot of thought and effort into these and what you do in general and the fact that you share it for others is awesome. Thanks.
I find your turnip man videos very informative. Now, 7 years later I wonder if you would still use the same workflow in the latest version of Designer.
Really helpful video on the confusing subject of mask layers thanks! One thing you said was that the first method of adding a mask layer by clicking the new mask layer button and then adding a gradient could not be edited - actually it can by right clicking the mask layer icon and choosing edit from the menu. It then shows the gradient and you can change it, it is not ideal as you cannot see the effect until you come out of the edit mode.
@@alecaddd you're welcome. This is another helpful video on using masks to apply textures by using Rasterise to Mask and Mask to Below, that I think compliments your video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I6HpuIAktjE.html
I really enjoy your videos because they go so in-depth as to what we need to make a proper character in Affinity. I'm looking to pursue design and animation in the future so your series is very useful to me. Thank you so much and keep it up. :D
Thank you so much for the effort of producing these videos, they are really nice and you have a great way of explaining everything. Coming from a photoshop background illustrator had me pulling my hair out where as affinity looks so much easier I also wish you had an affiliate link as I would purchase a copy through you. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
Oh wow, thank you so much for this beautiful comment. You could send a tweet to the Affinity guys and let them know that my tutorial helped you in choosing AD, that would be an amazing gift from you :D
hi Alex, :) do you have some special referral link to buy a Affinity Designer lycence? I want to buy one and if it is possible would like to support you :)
Oh, man! That is so sweet of you, thank you so much for the thought. Unfortunately I'm not a partner of Affinity, so I don't have any referral or promo to give you. I tried in the past but I got politely ignored :D Maybe you could give them an heads up on Twitter, letting them know you decided to buy the software also in part because of my videos. I would be honoured. Thank you so much for you kindness and support.
