I agree, but these guys aren't exactly hardcore in the traditional sense. In my opinion they're more so a rock band with some hardcore sensibilities - anything that makes hardcore inaccessible to most people (harsh vocals, beatdowns etc) aren't in their songs. They're pop hardcore - and I don't say that in a negative way, it's cool that they're so popular and loved, and I do imagine they'll be a gateway band to heavier/more underground stuff for a lot of people which can only be a good thing.
@@antnybeard69 I’d agree with you as far as they’re not traditional but they’re most definitely a hardcore band to me. The first EPs and album are reminiscent of early 90s breakouts and even into some tracks on their second record. Glow On is a new direction in some ways but they’ve always been a band to push things, I love that.
I'm 51 and took my 17 yr old to see them in New Orleans. I've seen a lot of artists in my lifetime and I can honestly say Turnstile was the most enjoyable performance I've ever witnessed! Can't wait to see more from them!
my uncle got me a thrasher magazine subscription in the 90's and that was my first introduction to helmet. they had a small article on some different bands, helmet was one. good shit and i agree this does have some of the feel of them.
Actually, we had Enter Shikari a couple of years ago! But still, couldn't agree more, just getting into Turnstile and they kick literally all of the ass
Not hardcore anymore tho. Pop punk or plain rock is more correct, been listening sice their first album. And i do not like this new mainstream booga booga they are doing
@@jacquesfantastique is it acceptable and appropriate for people in the gayness community to be so overtly perverse? At the least you seem desperate and sad. At the most you seem like one of those guys that just harasses women walking on a sidewalk. Grow up. Life isn’t all about getting your knob polished.
I'm 31 and I went to a Turnstile show recently and I've never had more fun. I felt like 14 year old me just discovering Emmure and other hardcore bands. If you're reading this and Turnstile is in your area, just go!
So funny! I’m turning 31 next month and I’ve just discovered Turnstile this year back in April! They played on Lollapalooza Brazil and I really liked them! Since then I’m listening to their songs pretty much every single day! Their last album is so good and I already memorized all the lyrics of the songs lol! They’re so good!!! I definitely can say I’m a fan now.
I'm 40 and I can't even handle how much this makes me feel like i'm a teenager again. I've seen them 3 times this year and have collectively lost my mind every time.
Been listening to these guys for about 8 years and they never disappoint live. I didn’t go to glasto but I saw them the night before at outbreak fest. One of the best gigs I’ve been to all year. Even beat their first show I saw them in January!! Holy fuck.
I was also lucky enough to see them in January! I believe I caught them at Nottingham. Unfortunately wasn't able to make it to Outbreak which sucks, maybe next year, glad you had a fun time there !
Turnstile is without a doubt the best new-ish rock band to come around in a long long time. 'Glow On' is the best rock album I've heard in years. I'm 39 and I had sort of given up hope of new bands coming around that elicit the same sort of excitement that 90's bands gave me or early 00's indie rock bands gave me...Turnstile changed all that. They are fucking legit. I'm seeing them live for the first time in a few months and I cannot fuckin wait.
How's that rock you've been living under? I'm literally 2 years younger than you and this type of scene has been thriving for years now, and if anything never stopped.
I can't stop listening to this after seeing it at Glastonbury... And my 14 year old telling me about this band ... I'm 42 and love them now... How the hell have I never heard of them before... ✌️😎❤️
This takes me make so many years, and really give me the vibes of Suicidal Tendencies, and so many other great bands of the early 90's. Good to hear this sound is still alive.
Saw them last week for the first time and I was completely blown away. Their latest album 'glow on' is one of the best and most refreshing hardcore punk albums I've ever heard
I've enjoyed this a lot. The sound and performance by Turnstile are awesome. The people of Glastonbury jumping and singing with Blackout in other level.
Makes me proud to be from the east coast hardcore scene. Remember seeing Turnstile for the first time at a little bar called Shakas in virginia beach, then at an album release show in DC. I really encourage people to dive into their old stuff. Bless these dudes.
They hit the sweet spot of authentic Hardcore rhythm and energy with a mix of positivity, style, and musical curiousity that is absolutely a breath of fresh air. So excited for this band to be doing so well. It's good for guitar rock, and it's good for music in general. When I played music like this, with bands like this - these guys were nowhere near being born, so It's HUGE for their generation to take the music and move it forward the way they do. (I'll be 54 in a couple of weeks) PS - for these UK audiences to get a full dose of New American Hardcore is also fucking RAD
@@Slims222 yeah but Hardcore isn't a super popular music genre, Glow On is their most successful album brining in a much larger and newer audience to this style of music who clearly don't know hardcore
Shoutout to franz he’s stayed true to himself this whole time; honestly, all these guys have seen them in various bands in a 250 cap room same r energy.
I will admit I am a new fan, only maybe 3 weeks now. I bought the new album and I am so obsessed with them now it’s incredible. They are so talented and incredible I am so lucky to have found them.
most stand out band of the whole festival Turnstile were amazing everyone needs to watch their whole set, everyone who was at Glastonbury and didn't see Turnstile missed out big time
40yr old first time hearing Turnstile. Really enjoyed it. Very reminiscent of the music I grew up with. Happy to hear good music is still being made. 🎶❤️
