@@rubenerstrom8059 Zach was in a hardcore band before Rage. For the late 80s it was a breath of fresh air for the hardcore scene.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zLl2CqrtdA4.html
It’s crazy to think that a couple of years ago I saw them in a small indoor venue in Tampa, Florida and now they’re basically the biggest band in the world of this particular genre. The energy of a Turnstile show is unmatched.
@@Ted_Sheckler it's more crazy to me how the general public will draw themselves into a specific band, when there have been countless bands doing the same stuff for decades without nearly as much recognition
@@wienersmcbutts I know what you mean bro but the algorithm works in strange ways if anything their success is even more epic because they’ll bring more attention to the other bands of their genre
I didn't like the change at all at first and the album has grown on me heavy. Its super infectious with those grooves. I can't stop listening to it now lol.
There was a huge pit later on in the show. I was there and i'm guessing the only reason why most people are pretty static is because it was extremely hot that day
There are most demanding audience, if somebody like shred guitar hero kinda solos or drummers like bands as slipknot or opeth, they would not like this too much.
Been obsessed w/ Turnstile since 2011 and I couldn’t be more proud to see them changing the face of hardcore 🥺 If it wasn’t Power Trip, I wanted it to be y’all ♥️
My kid 25 is going to see them with Blink 182 and he never heard of Turnstile, I never heard of them and 51 years old. So we listened to them on Oct 22nd when we were working at a haunted train we help out on. Loud music system and first song we play is “Holiday”. Blown away at how different this band is on this Glow On album. Man they are going places. Think my kid a huge Blink 182 fan might come out a bigger Turnstile fan after seeing them and I’m kinda jelly I’m not gonna be there.
Turnstile are actual rockstars now, it’s amazing how refined their act is. No doubt their next album will have some big industry features, the sky really is the limit with this band.
That Jane’s addiction references new I don’t hear it or see it whatsoever. I think they are completely different. This is thrash punk I see what you mean by the feminine part but not really so much anymore Dave Navarro overrated guitars that have been very very good. Plus they don’t have make up on and dress up like a bunch of addicts they’re straight. They’re nothing like an addiction not transvestite it’s nothing like that.
I like that their style has changed. They have evolved as adults. It’s just very strange that they were the roughest crowd I used to ever witness in my life I could never go to that I’ve been a lot of musket 90s people are actually so soft now at Pinkpop, I’ve noticed I always loved how turnstile checked on their fans their drummer has always been a beast when they did the small venues they were all and other bands, and they played them back to back to back. The singers, a drummer, and another band is kind of a whole long story, but they have evolved they actually sing and have the crowd dancing and singing not doing weird stuff, I like it but it’s definitely entertaining to look them up back in 2010 and 2013
threw me off how he was playing a world beat on don't play worked tho. these guys and IDLES have some of the highest live energy ive seen, made me tear up a bit
God bless Turnstile don't get the biggest crowds at these festivals but they make the most of it and still ends up being a good show arguably one of the best live bands on the planet
@@jorgeesparza8772 This is a pop festival. Even though Turnstile are more melodic hardcore - even pop hardcore - they are an anomaly on the bill. Maybe if hard rock bands become more popular as a result, more fans will come to these festivals as bills reflect a shift.
@@jackjude Seems more of a Alternative/Indie Pop festival. Theres serveral pop bands, Bands like IDLES< Deftones and Turnstile, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes and a couple more. Turnstile fits into this festival especially with the fusion they've been going towards.
Always heard this band has a ton of energy at their smaller shows, very cool to see they got it going (at a day show outside) plus they got the old DC Bad Brains thing in the song craft
check out a live video from like 2013-2014 when they were famous only in the niche hardcore world. Its so cool to see/hear how theyve changed and grown.
this is what you get when you get one metal guitarist, one punk guitarist, a funk bassist, a latin fusion drummer and a kid who liked hip hop. such a neat take on hardcore music.
i used to go see a local band 30footfall here in houston and everytime the singer had a cordless microphone he would jump out down to the pit for the entirety of the show. he would always make a big deal about having a wireless microphone lol. I LOVE WIRELESS MICROPHONES! then cover creep by radiohead in the pit
