I forgot to mention that if Rage Wars had a PC port, there would have been fewer obstacles in the way of Night Dive remastering it. They might have to reverse-engineer it like Turok 3. There's probably a lot more going on behind closed doors. We can only speculate at this point. What do you guys think? Would you still buy it if it doesn't include Online Multiplayer?

I’d buy it even if it didn’t have online multiplayer. If it was offline only, I wonder if the 2 player trial stuff would be an issue. I love this game. It would be nice to be able to 100 percent it and unlock all the skins. All I can do is hope that it gets a remaster some day.
I would buy it in a heart beat, with or without online multiplayer. Fix the 100% glitch, maybe make it a bit more faster paced. Also this might be minor, give all the characters their appropriate arm model when holding certain weapons. Nothing like playing as an oblivion spawn and having Joshua's arm model.
It's a fun little game, but not one I could see myself playing for hours every single day. It can get quite repetitive. A polished online PC multiplayer mode could have made it a much bigger hit. It's so foolish of Acclaim to have created an FPS game and not released it for PC.
It's not that they can't remaster it, but it's not gonna sell well, considering it has the smallest fan-base of all Turok games. I'm surprised they did T3 in the first place. If remastering RW takes too much work, its a WRAP. 30% chance if i had to bet.
@@TheGamingChad.Saw one of the devs mention that the latter is true, since it shares assets with Turok 2. Imo it didnt sell well mostly due to schedule and not that the idea of a multiplayer Turok game was unappealing.
Honestly, while I enjoyed the multiplayer on the N64 of Rage Wars me and my cousin would stay up to unholy hours trying to beat Bastille and when we finally did and slowly got better at the game and we made it Tal Set, I gotta say that was some of my most fond gaming memories to date. A remaster of Rage Wars either as a bundle with Turok 2 or as a standalone title would be amazing, I'm already planning to get all 3 remasters of the trilogy this holiday and the fact that the CEO of Night Dive is already considering Rage Wars makes me happy and I hope after all the remasters are done we get a new Turok game, because we are due for one. Turok with sprinting, an expansive arsenal, platforming like in OG, and a great story that harkens back the Akklaim lore would be fantastic, it doesn't even have to be gorgeous in terms of graphics I just want more Turok.
Yeah, I saw that in a livestream 3 weeks ago lol. I assume that's a big FAT NO? How did you interpret it? I believe we're gonna see a RW remaster. I don't think it needs too much work. Hopefully, it's based on Turok 2 to be able to play co-op online. RW online MP is gonna be lit, though.

@@Xion_Toshiro In Turok 3 remaster credits, in the end night dive put "STOP ASKING US ABOUT RAGE WARS" I assume that's a WRAP for RW, could be wrong though. This video was created before i saw the credits.
I don't think T3 will be priced at $20. I'd feel guilty buying it for that price. Considering how much effort they put into T3. I would gladly pay $40. But it's missing MP. So i assume it's gonna cost $30.
@@TheGamingChad. Well, I feel the same about the previous installments. $20 was their launch prices and most likely will be for T3. Missing MP is not a point of contention for me since the community let T2's MP die out to lack of playing frequently.

We should also keep in mind that NDS is much bigger and better than they were in 2015. The bar and standards have been set higher, and they need to make some of that money back. NDS had a lot of pressure bringing this game back to life. T3 had no source code nor PC port, it had to be reverse-engineered. They had to redo the broken collision system, the models, the textures, and they added a new lighting system. It's not just a re-release with improved controls and 16:9 ratio like T1/2 lol. Despite all these efforts, it still might not sell as much as the previous titles. Even most Turok fans aren't aware of this game. I'm glad they remastered it in 2023 rather than back in 2018 or something, given that NDS is now bigger and better.@@JPalinkas1993
controls are my biggest gripe about this game. It was fun, but the lack of options when it comes to things like inverted aim, that really steams my cabbage.
If Turok 3 doesn't contain any form of Multiplayer. My petition and idea to the Dev team... that I would implore to Remaster a very supped-up version of Turok Rage Wars, and feature it with all the OG content, as well as maps from Turok 2 (maybe not the same, or both the same and new inspired ones by the campaign), Turok 1 (campaign inspired levels) & all the Turok 3 maps from the N64 with some newly inspired campaign ones, as well as add all the missing characters/skins from the Turok 2 multiplayer, Turok 3 characters/skins, new Turok 1 skins for even Human Guerrilla NPCs, Aliens, Necromancers, etc... and to make the experience even better... new weapons ported from Turok 3, Turok 2's campaign & Turok 1's campaign... and to make it the ultimate Turok Arena Multiplayer game... have workshop support. Oh yeah, and make the Campaign Co-Op available to play up to 4 players, the only thing you would have to tweak would be the 2v2 vs. the computer stages... the more players you add, the game should modify the computer team with one or two more CPU controlled player to match numbers, depending how many human players are playing the Co-Op campaign together.... and adjust Bosses' HP scaling depending on the number of players involved. With all that, I would be very happy. Would pay $20-$40 for this package alone as a standalone title if you give me this much content for a Quake 3 Arena style Turok game... and make it cross-play with all platforms.

That was a controversial take lol, i'm glad nobody disagreed with it so far. I wish Acclaim had moved onto other platforms, especially PC. I recently found out that Turok Evolution was not ported to PC by Acclaim. That explains why the game is so buggy. What a shame.

I would of waited for Turok 3 to come out then Rage Wars for more hero characters to work with in the Turok Siblings and Police Officers. Or if no Workshop there's always Nexus or ModDB.
Here is an honest take, a full remaster of Rage Wars is a waste of time and it will be a dead game in a month from its release. It is sad to say but Quake 3 style Arena MP titles are pretty much dead and gone with Quake Champions being the most played. Even with a workshop addon it will not track a big audience. The best solutions would be to either attach Rage Wars as a DLC addon for Turok 3 remaster, or the absolute best solution is to take the weapons from Rage Wars and apply them to Turok 3(even 2) as an alternative weapon set the player can have. The tip-top would to have the Rage Wars weapons be Josh's weapons for Turok 3 when you play as him. The amount of time and money to remaster Rage Wars is better suited for fans than Nightdive so my other solution options would be best
I played this game with my neighbours and friends to death, we use to drink a lot and have a good time, what killed this game for us was other multiplayers games on newer consoles, but even then i always felt there should be more ammo at the maps, always at some point we were betting each other with the hammer and the drunkest one for better choose the raptor, those were the golden years
If it had a PC port with online MP it would have been more accessible for players to revisit the game. Very foolish of Acclaim not to provide a PC port for this game. As it could have kept the game more alive and rememberable.
At the end of the Credits on the remaster of Turok 3 Nightdive left a note. It said, "Please stop asking about Rage Wars" that could be either a good or a bad thing depending how you twist it. lol
Yes, but this info surfaced after this video was made. Personally i believe it's a WRAP for Rage Wars. The community is even smaller than T3's. If Night Dive releases another half-assed remaster without multiplayer, it will be another slap in the face. Online multiplayer would be the biggest selling point for Rage Wars. If they fail in that aspect again, the game is doomed to fail just like T3 did. I'd say there's about a 30% chance they'll remaster it. I'm particularly excited about the Evolution remaster. It's the longest Turok game with the largest audience. If they overlook it, they're shooting themselves in the foot, there are plenty of customers on the line for that game. Hopefully we'll see a teaser in 5 or so years.

I mean, T3 also had a MP and they scrapped it, assuming they remaster RW, and scrap the MP which is the heart and soul of RW, it's gonna be a big slap in the face. I'd still buy it, but god damn, the game would become boring, repetitive and kill replay ability value. Multiplayer would be the absolute selling point, hopefully they won't f8ck this up again.
Damn, whoever is playing this has definitely played Rage Wars more than once, the movement control and swapping weapons to manipulate the guns to shoot faster is crazy lmao Wait a minute, now that I've watched a bit more, this can't be a player, I'll assume this is some kind of tas? or spectating a high difficulty bot (if that's even possible with modding)
This is actually my own TAS lol. I have like 5-6 of them, feel free to check them out. I've always wanted to watch a TAS of this game, but since nobody else has bothered to make one I've decided to make a few myself. I even have an Evolution TAS, never done before by anyone else.
No single player campaign, only vs bots or other players.. Why buy a then established multiplayer addition standalone title without the campaign? Turok 3 Remastered is showing that by removing the multiplayer people still only want a single player campaign on their classic FPS games.
Was it really a FAL, though? The FAL never came to mind whenever I saw it. Turok's always had unique weapon designs with little to no real world inspiration.
Without a proper multiplayer community and single-player campaign chances (and reason) to get Rage Wars remastered are close to zero. I agree that Evolution, and it needs a huge rework, probably the biggest for Nightdive so far, would make much more sense.
Before we even get an T Evolution remaster I want Nightdive to go back and upgrade the Turok 1&2's outdated remasters to the new KEK engine with the same level or better treatment that Quake 2 and Turok 3 has gotten. This would then give Nightdive the ultimate Turok trilogy remaster set that would attract new and old fans alike. There are still so many frustrating ane noticeable issues with Turok 1&2 remaster that absolutely need addressing and anyone who is a diehard Turok fan will notice

Yeah i know, the chances of getting a RW remaster are slim to none. I'm just eagerly waiting for Turok: Evolution remaster. More clients on the line and more versatile game.

Rage Wars doesn't need a remaster. It needs the full remake treatment. The original was limited to very small maps and only 4 players, but a modern adaptation could bring it more in-line with a true arena FPS.
I’d buy it rn. But wait, were the frag missions truly so disliked? Was it just my kid brain that thought it was the funniest shit ever trying to escape enemies as a chicken or a monkey? Or hunting said chicken/monkey while contending with ai bots?
