I really dig the features on this mic.. I like how you can switch it up to capture a little or everything. Useful for multiple voices needing captured. It doesn't sound as crisp as I like, but I'm sure with the right software, this mic could be used for a lot more than just streaming! Great vid Mark! I'm jealous lol

Make sure you download the Turtle Beach software and update the firmware. It makes a very noticeable difference.

+Harles Bently On PC you download the TB software and it will update the firmware of the mic for you.

What I want to know is, were you using an external mic before using the TB mic? If not, you got ripped off. The camera mic straight up sounds better.

+onaretrotip Yeah it does come up a bit tinny but settings would fix that. Going to be doing some thorough testing of it over the coming weeks so you can see if it's improved.

I don't actually own a desk but sit close to my TV with a place to put the mic close the me is this a good choice or should I buy a boom stand?

+Oli Gray Yes you can use for party chat. Boom stand is a great idea because then you won't have the feedback if you knock what it is sat on..

its fuuny a lot of people are talking shit on this mic but I doubt they upgraded the fireware first before they syatyed to do anything because no shit its goin to sounds bad when you haven't upgraded the fireware in it and what do ppl expect when you want a usb ,ic the works on xbox when nothing else works with it unless your using a computer to get another usb mic to work with it.

Seriously though, if you want to spend this much on a mic....dont get this one. Get the Samson G-track Its a really good microphone.

i got a singstar mic from my ps2 a shock mount and scissor arm for it for under $12 usd (not inc mic but if you did it would probs cost 8usd for mic making total cost $20usd) and it looks better sounds better and was way cheaper dont buy this shit

don't get me wrong but I've owned 2 pairs of headsets with built in mics from turtle beach. they are ok but that mic looks like crap in my opinion. hopefully it sounds good but I won't buy the brand ever again. I have a antlion mod mic and a blue yeti mic and both work really well. hopefully it performs well over looks.

+python cheese The main thing I like about it is the small footprint but it is pretty plastic in its build. The pickup on the mic is good and the settings for different scenarios is a definite plus. As for how it sounds, this was my first crack at it and in my opinion it's better than the snowball but that is a slightly cheaper mic anyway. Haven't tried yeti before but that seems to be the standard streamer/RU-vidr mic.

The Games Shed I personally don't use the blue yeti a whole lot unless I use my camera on my PC. Personally I like the antlion mod mic a little more and its way more portable. I have it attached to my Sennheiser headphones.

+TheMysteriousKnight sorry I'm an idiot. Snowball is only £50 now. I agree that this should be cheaper but they have added in some nice features so could fetch a higher price. I will be testing this properly over the coming weeks so keep an ear out on the channel. :)

I agree however this evening I downloaded Turtle Beaches software for optimising the microphone and must admit after firmware update and a few settings tweaked it sounds a whole lot better. Will make a video soon to show the difference
