I don't mind sharing everything but the location. I usually just ask for something on return such as a like or a sub! For jacks we dont usually use bait unless we are using giant smelts. In this case I used what we call "dancers". Their officially called jigging raps I think. Jacks aren't very picky though. Key is to just make em mad lol
Nice catch, but next time include the release video, people love to see when a healthy big fish is released and stayed alive. I would cut the time out of the water by half.
Yeah, a couple people said that as well. I did do some research and even linked one of the papers below. Pike like that can survive 5 minutes out of water in this weather. Keep in mind the shack itself was about 20 degrees Celsius so it was way above freezing. Either way, I'll take everyone's advice and shoot for shorter times. Hope you enjoyed the video!
It lived.. as mentioned in the other comments. Lots of people seem upset about this and it makes me surprisingly happy! Its great to see people advocating for sustainability. I know with covid and snow birds not being able to leave in the winter that the lakes are being pressured even more than ever. Thumbs up to you and hope you're catching lots!
