I'm always catching MASSIVE sturgeon in the city, I tend to find the flattest calmest water u can , the less swirling and turbulence the better
@KruksYT
@KruksYT 2 месяца назад
Interesting, swirling usually indicates eddies which is where the water actually slows down. Either way, haven't caught a sturgeon in Edmonton but have on the NSR outside of town!

@@KruksYT nah, swirling usually indicates a rock back Eddie's will be more of big whirlpool looking on the edges. I guide on the NSR and love hitting Eddie's for walleye , cool videos 🤟

Hows your luck with this?
@KruksYT
@KruksYT 3 месяца назад
Pike get really mad at it and often attack it. The bait randomly swims and you cant control it so often it swims away from potential catches. Fun to watch it swim around but not really practical!

Burbot. I literally caught one last yr and it had a disease so I gave it to the Dec officer to get it looked at to see if it was something that wouldn't spread to other fish. Looked like something outta a horror movie

I think you're right about it being a burbot. What language is Quappe?
@Christian-lh7ux
@Christian-lh7ux Год назад
@@KruksYT Hi Kruks 😺 Quappe is german, we have them here in the north of Hesse too but they are smaller for what I see and under protection. Further north they are more common and you are allowed to fish them. You and the video are from north America, USA? lovely wishes Christian Btw, beside the other comment, it has quite a value as a fish to eat. It's very popular among angler, like eel! You have to prepare and cook it like cod.

@KruksYT
@KruksYT 2 года назад
Hi Greg. Thanks for the feedback. Consider changing the tone of your message next time to provide positive feedback. Something like: "Hey man, I noticed that you held the line when the fish was gut hooked. With heavier fish this can cause more harm than good." Much more constructive and likely to be heard. Anyways.. Thanks for the comment!

Trout can be quite hard to catch. This lake is often quite murky which makes catching trout even harder. Then you have the birds that always come during stocking and eat all the trout lol. I noticed in your description your worried about people keeping the trout, you should not worry the lake is killed off in the winter almost certainly.
@KruksYT
@KruksYT 2 года назад
The lake is for sure winter kill. I guess the point was more that the later in the season you go the less chance you'll have because of people keeping them.
