Hello John, greetings from Luxembourg, I have always used salad oil and it works great, it loosens the dirt and doesn't stay greasy, wash and dry, put some salad oil on a cloth and rub well, then rub with a dry cloth, the plastic part looks like new . Lou

I used to use black Cherry Blossom shoe polish. Or Tyre Slik for a fast finish but that would wash off quite quickly.

Damnation....I've just bought a bottle. Looks like this is the stuff you put on just before you put the car up for sale! I would be interested to see how easy it is to clean the bumper and re apply over the peeled area.....if you have remove it, I would try alcohol and a brush and move up to a scourer if it didn't work.

Unfortunately, there is no lasting solution to this problem with exterior plastics. The ones that offer the best results in terms of durability are the coatings used by detailers (example CQuartz DLUX from CARPRO), but they are a little expensive. To clean the old one, I would try using an APC (all proposal cleaner) in a strong dilution with the help of a brush or a slightly stiff brush (do not use a dishwashing sponge).

I use Carpride Black Pack at £1.30 a 300ml tin of spray. It brings up the trim on my Jag a treat. Give it a go!

Interesting! If it comes off that readily could you jetwash it off and try something else. I doubt there is a long term solution. I believe any product would need to be reapplied periodically?

I gave you a shout out maybe a month ago. Something like that month and a 1/2. Try Eastwood trim restore. It bonds on the molecular level it's out of the states eastwood is the name

Hi Mark. Yes I did check it out. It essentially an etch paint which is a good thing, and I have used a similar product before with OK results. But removing all the trim or masking on my motorhome wouldnt be my preference. Also Eastwood is not a UK supplier. So to give it a go I would have to spend more than £50 on a single aerosol. So, I am still pondering the options👍👍
