How often do you mind reapplying a wax? Would you want a paste wax to last longer than this on a car that’s stored outside? Let me know in the comments! Here’s a link to my application/ first impressions video on the wax if you want some more info: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f1ugVY9HlUw.html

I really fell in love with paste waxes and enjoyed applying them. But recently I found them to be a chore and having bought this wax when it first came out I never could be bothered to use. Sio2 sealants and sio2 spray waxes etc are just so easy to use and will get this same amount of longevity

This isn't something I've tried yet , however I've used the liquid Flex Wax and topped it up with their Graphene spray after every 2nd wash so longterm durability isn't too much of an issue. A very thorough test and as you say in the video every car is different .

Good vid. Poignant commentary on durability and all of Mother Nature's and driving habit/condition variables. I'm from New England and my car is not garaged. I have a flat red GTI and was astounded at the look this paste gave my car which for me is the priority over durability as long as it's reasonable. As we know, that is always up for debate and is a matter [by in large] of personal preference. I figured if 1 coat is good than 2 coats should be better. I certainly was not dissapointed. After 4-5 weeks I was itching to try the [then] new FLEX Graphene Spray as a topper. My experience with 2 coats of that wonderful paste and the FLEX gave me well past 3 months of BOTH gr8 gloss/depth of color AND durability. Shine on you crazy diamonds!

@@AutoCareHQ As I mentioned it is a matter of personal preference but there is sooo much emphasis on the durability thing that I find it out of proportion. Turtle Wax and ALL the other manufacturers should not (over)state what are often perceived as exaggerated durability claims or state how/what those claims are arrived on. 🤔 Keep up the good work! I enjoy your style.

I used this 4 months ago, it was on a non protected, daily driver, just a wash and apply. Initial results as per your test, but then I didn’t touch the car for 3 months until 2 weeks ago. I wasn’t too impressed, until I dried it. It dried super easy, then the shine took over, fair play it really was impressive. Now the road salt has returned so I need to re wash it and check it again.

My car is stored outside and driven on mainly dirty country roads. Road traffic film builds quickly and seriously impacts protection performance behind the wheels and on the boot. I'd be lucky to get 4 weeks before those panels were pretty much dead with everything I've tried so far. I've therefore switched to a products that are simple to re-apply at one in every 3 or 4 weekly maintenance washes. Your content, as ever, is excellent.

I tried it on a mazda and a nissan truck. I like it. Anything with wax, I only expect it to last about 2 months. This wax is a lot easier than older waxes. And using a battery drill with a foam pad gets the wax on really fast. The mazda gets washed almost daily because of the road traffic getting it dirty. And the beading is really good. I did put 2 layers on to get a build up.

great feedback Heather, i have a pot of the same wax, and just haven't got round to using it -- still preferring the lower cost Infinity Wax's *SuperGloss+ Spray Wax* on top of my *AM Hybrid Sealant* -- its a cracking combo that lasts well up in the frozen north east of Scotland, 4 months and still going. Agreed. The Graphene range don't really seem to add anything. I've been using the Hybrid Solutions range too, Ceramic Polish & Wax followed by the Ceramic Spray (2 coats). That gave 7 months of protection over a UK winter (Oct-April) on a car kept outside. Quite impressive given I hadn't started using either the Ceramic Shampoo or Wet Wax. Great easy to use products at sensible money for someone like me who likes a clean car but isn't really into detailing proper.

Another really detailed, informative video. Personally, I do enjoy applying a wax and reapplying it, if I see the water beading tail off. I'm always sceptical about durability claims on waxes anyway. Given the list of fancy ingredients in the product it suggests it will a have better durability than demonstrated in your video. I found that in the US, its part of car enthusiasts culture to apply wax a lot more often than we do in the UK. So in the US durability seems less of an issue to folks. Besides, if TW made durability claims that were found to be false, they would more than likely be sued.
@AutoCareHQ
@AutoCareHQ 2 года назад
Thank you! Yeah I think that applying a nice wax is an enjoyable process so it's not a big problem for me if it isn't super durable either! I agree with you though I was expecting it to last longer as it seems like it's marketed to be a longer lasting wax
@dog-bite186
@dog-bite186 2 года назад
@@AutoCareHQ Thank you Heather. Unfortunately the marketing claims and reality of the product don't match and your video and those of your fellow RU-vid posters serve to give and honest appraisal of the product and buyers will prefer to purchase a different product. TW would have been better just selling the wax as a wax and not make fanciful claims. Thats why I like Wax Planet waxes. Its very rare that Tony commits to how long the wax will last on a vehicle since there are so many variables that come into play.

@@AutoCareHQ can you do a comparison with turtle flex spray wax? Vs 303 as well? For durability in future? Please? Great thanks again!

Ultimately not good enough in the real world. Bilt Hamber and Fusso are reigning supreme it seems. Heather, have you tried to new version of Fusso? Or would you know how long it realistically last for in the real world?

I’m afraid I’ve not tried the new Fusso. I’ve got the old one and that lasted about 6 months but could get even longer if the conditions were good

@@AutoCareHQ Ah that’s okay. I feel like I’ve asked you before but for me it’s the great dilemma as Bilt Hamber put their prices up and I’m tossing and turning between DSW or paying the extra for Fusso. As a weekend warrior, without infinite time or a permanent setup I can get into action quickly, it’s tough to spare the time and energy after a thorough wash to put on a wax.

Not great better out there for same money , most don't know or want to decon/polish and even then it's crap , it's like CG jetseal 109 up to 12months lol lucky if you get 12 weeks , good way is quarter of whatever's claimed so makes 12 months more like 3 no more
