It's a decent wax but time has not done it any favours and there are now much easier and longer lasting waxes available. The TW wax is far easier to use.

Am curious...I'm a driveway enthusiast. Although points made here for paid detailers who are looking for quick/easy/sound job/on to the next car...how many of all the viewers here are actually those paid professionals? No ill will intended certainly but I bet that most of the subscribers and viewers here are casual weekend warriors which are the majority demographic who watch most of the dozens of detailing channels on RU-vid. That viewership is not particularly interested in turning X amount of clients over in a day and have a more casual time and focused approach to their own vehicles. Efficiency and time management for the pro's are one thing - most of us are not and for that reason take a different viewpoint and approach. Yep, sprays and synthetics are convenient, fast and effective. Pastes and natural applications still have a solid place if not for the convenience or extended durability but perhaps the Zen of application and the LOOK👈 that it gives one's vehicle. For me the results of Carnuba on my flat red paint is unsurpassed. Great vid - there are STILL a lot of us out there who are at the least curious about this form of application.

You're right, MOST of my viewers are enthusiasts or weekend warriors but from my community interactions on Instagram I know that a decent number of professionals watch my videos too.

I had a lot to say about all the waxes but I cut some out at the end as I was mostly repeating what was mentioned in the voiceover.

Built hamber was the better wax here by the look of it and i dont even rate the built hamber as a decent wax tbh I think the turtle wax would fail pretty quickly on a dayly driver Not liking how all the you tubers are wearind the turtle wax t shirts and hats like they have been payed off

Yes we did but I don't let free products influence my opinions. I'll have more videos comparing this wax to other high durability waxes in the future.

I'm a big fan of AutoGlym UHD wax 👍

I already have the AG UHD. and really rate it. As I really like waxing the car staying power is not a concern for me. If your test had shown the TW to be a massive improvement I’d have bought it. Thanks for a good review and thanks for saving me money!!!

Waxes are great toppers for a sealant, it's an extra sacrificial layer. They're still popular as waxing is considered therapeutic these days.

Thanks Nigel. Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax is hard to beat for price and performance. Turtle Wax Hybrid Sealant Wax (new name for Sealant Hydrophobic Wax) is incredibly good, fast and easy to use (spray wax) and decent value too. You can layer it too for longer durability.

I'll be filming it again with more resilient waxes and DSW will return in that test.

The HS spray coating takes 24 hours to cure and needs 2 coats to get the best durability, so if you have the time then I'd use the wax as a topper. The question is - how long do you need your protection to last? For time efficiency I'd use the wax as a base and top it regularly with HS quick detailer and it'll always look fresh.

@@SpeckyMcSporran I was thinking of a real world test on one of the fleet of cars you RU-vidrs always seem to have (joking). Scottish weather and salty roads would be a real test. Mind you if we normal people can't buy it there is no point.

Fair point, I would find it hard to do a real world test as I need to test so many products that I'd struggle to keep a single product on the paint for a long time.

Soft 99 waxes are great and offer exellent value for money I find the built hamber wax to be overated In the detailing comunity tbh the same with sonax bsd which is horrible to apply and remove unless you mix it with another qd Works well mixed 50/50 with car plan no1 gloss

@@thephantomarse8525 BSD has its place , yes its sticky to apply but the water reaction it gives its fantastic . I tend to use BSD as a drying aid rather than a stand alone product

@@SpeckyMcSporran they removed it from the only stores that are authorized to sell, I missed out as I was moving so back in august they pulled Uhd. Yet we still have the ceramic and paste waxes

I don't own supernatural but I know from experience that my poorboys nattys red wouldn't last well.

@@SpeckyMcSporran yea. Red isn't a lasting. I uses blue today. White lasts the longest. Supernatural hybrid is somewhere between collitite and poor boys white for lasting

The short answer is no. Check out the channel Forensic Detailing, Jon made a video recently testing that very thing using Fairy Liquid and a few other products.

I've got a more resilient test coming up. It's concentrating on ceramic, Graphene and hybrid blends for durability.

I didn't forget it, I just don't own it.

Figuring out how long a product lasts is not easy. So many factors change the outcome like where you live, where the car is stored, weather, temperature, humidity, road conditions etc. If you want your protection to last a year then get a ceramic coating.

Carnauba wax doesn't last as long so I'd suggest applying the Graphene + ceramic wax first as a base layer and use the Carnauba wax as a topper.

I'm not a detailer so I can't tell you everything but here are a few tips. Learn everything you can, be informed as possible. Manage your customers expectations, don't sell a full paint correction when all they want is a maintenance wash and protection.

How does it behave when you wash it? Flooding can happen simply by water clinging to dirt on the surface of the paint. Waxes and sealants don't stop dirt sticking to the car, they're essentially a sacrificial layer on top of the paint. Protection still requires washing so try that and see if the beading/sheeting returns.

@@SpeckyMcSporran This is flooding after washing using dodo juice born to be mild. I wash once per week no matter the mileage and after 2 washes i lose most beading. I apply using a meguiars applicator sponge pad and buff off with micro fibre after a few minutes. I can't work out whether this is expected behaviour and i'm asking too much from the wax or whether it's just not as good as it should be.

Very interesting, I'd expect it to last more than two weeks for sure. How did you prep the paint before applying?

@@SpeckyMcSporran cold water pressure wash, envy care care bubbly jubbly PH neutral snow foam, cold water pressure wash, dodo juice dual bucket hand wash with warm water, cold water pressure wash, dry with meguiars towel (2 of those normally). I normally do a clay bar when the weather starts getting nice which will be soon but not done it for around 6 months or so.

I'm going to guess there's a few things that could be happening. 1 - your wax hasn't bonded properly due to contaminants on the paint that your wash process hasn't removed. 2 - the wax has not cured properly due to temperatures/conditions/time. 3 - the wax has failed somehow in the manufacturing process. I'd recommend using a polish/pre-wax cleanser to remove the wax on a section of the paint and reapply to test the wax again. If it performs better then you'll get a better idea if what might be wrong.

I'm still a fan of the AutoGlym UHD wax but I know you have strong opinions about it. More testing to be done 😁

Bilt hamber would of won hands down in the cheap and nasty waxes it's good for the price yes bilt hamber are a great brand for everything else waxes not in my opinion and AG U H D wax is superior to bilt hamber only in my opinion though 🤔🤣👍

@@BW-kv9wj I can't get more than 2 weeks out of an application of the TW in the UK before the panels start to flood instead of bead off. I was expecting more if i am honest as I can get the same performance with a spray wax (like megiuars hybrid ceramic spray wax) which obviously takes significantly less time to apply.

@@andyknight8108 May I suggest 303 Graphine spray. It’s the best I’ve tried so far.
