It's a real beaut. If my sights weren't on a GS and Omega ( moratorium due to fuel bills) then due to its buttery smoothness this would become a regular wear.
Thanks again for introducing watches that I haven’t seen elsewhere on RU-vid. Also, your reviews are very thorough. I wonder if many of the brands you review are sold in the US..?
Oooh. Another tasty watch Pete. We are getting some great quality microbrand watches with solid sellita movements in them nowadays. I think my Sinn 556ib still takes some beating as for me it’s virtually perfect, but this and the recent Nivada tropical explorer style watch are really nice. I learn and discover a lot from your channel. Thank you, Wisam
Great seeing this one on camera and excellent presentation as always buddy! Much like the Shellback, this Windseeker also caught my eye from first teasing. Glad to hear it lived up to expectations. Cheers
I think for the money this is a no brainer Jonathan Especially as you have already experienced the Shellback as well, Tuseno is hitting above their price point for sure Be well mate 🙏
The Nivada, Dievas and now this - quite a run of great looking watches. Agree the dial is the star of the Tuseno, but I do like the link bracelet just as much. Seems like there's dimension to it, that maybe doesn't exist on others. By the way, I approve of the use of your term Sublime. Makes me think of Miles Davis. If we're on that level, things are all right.
Lovely watch. I like the way the curved lines on the dial gives it a 3D affect. Love the old style crown, there isn’t anything I don’t like about the styling Great review Pete
Excellent review Pete, the price is right on point, as a micro brand, Tuseno really do set an enviable benchmark for others to try and emulate, the finish alone is representative of brands with a bigger pedigree, and as a pre production version the issue with lume will not doubt be remedied.
Haven't reinvented the wheel but its an absolute beauty , instant attraction & i agree .. half links , maybe a touch more lume but i see a pretty much perfect daily /gada.
Probably the best looking microbrand watch I've seen so far. The finishing looks exceptional. A real bummer about it not having half links. You don't realize how much that's needed until you have a watch with a butterfly clasp that can't be properly sized up for your wrist. Maybe they'll offer it on the next production run bc I'd pick one of these up in a second.
Got my Windseeker yesterday from a pre-order about 10 days ago. What a beautiful watch ( I have the blue dial with yellow pointer). Tuseno takes micro brands to a new level. Fit and finish is outstanding. The blue dial was sold out in less than a day with the silver and black dials still available. The price is now 649.00 - worth every penny! I agree, half links would be nice but mine fits perfect.
Absolutely lovely watch, thank you for sharing Pete. I bought the Shellback and I love it, just a fantastic watch, I suspect this one will be the same. I'm sure they will improve the lume on reg production units. My only concern is the potential fit of the bracelet due to the lack of half links... other than this a brilliant piece 👏 👏👏 Well done Team Tuseno.
I both love a hate this review 😅 I love it because of the always amazing camera work and honesty in the commentary. I hate it because I am really trying to exhibit restraint in my collecting, and have been eyeing this release since first announced, and had recently reasoned that I could wait for the truly right piece at the right time. But darn it if I’m not right back where I started when I first saw this compelling Swedish beauty. Wish me strength in restraint, or consolation if I cave 😂
Yep agree, nice looking watch and decent value if they sort that lume out. Hopefully they will sort the date wheel too, I noticed you can see the edge of the 20th, when the date was at the 19th. Maybe I’m just being too picky!!!👍
Saw that date wheel too, I assumed this being a preproduction this might be an oversight on their behalf as I didn't see this in any of their photos of their other colorways Lets see what the production version brings
I was really surprised to see that price, expecting it to be at least twice as much. Not that you can't get finishing that good for that amount or less (the leftfield stunner Casio Oceanus T200 is an example), but it seems to be unusual. Looks quite handsome and versatile for sure. Too bad I'm already looking hard at the Nivada from your recent review!
It’s a bit of a lovechild of a Tissot Powermatic and the English microbrand Fears. But one of those stunningly attractive adult offspring who are way better looking than their parents combined. I love the retro/futuristic fusion. It seems a lot of watch for the money. And many thanks for another absolutely fantastic video Peter.
As some other people have mentioned, this really reminds me of an Aqua Terra and that can only be a good thing (apart from butterfly clasps, I'm not a fan!) Definitely a brand to keep an eye on however. Thanks Pete.
Pete, I added a black leather strap from Tuseno to my silver Windseeker and man how it changes the look - -really dressing things up! The bracelet is a keeper for sure but straps sure can change the look.
Great stuff as per usual! I notice that there have been a few micros recently that received superlatives in terms of what they achieve in finishing and detailing on your channel. Most are also among the watches that have piqued my interest, but I only own the Straum Opphav so far. I'd find it helpful to have a sense of how these different micros relate in terms of the finishing achieved. I'm talking about this Windseeker, the Opphav, the Direnzo Mondial DRZ04, and the Pitzmann II. For me among this company I find this Tusenö the least pleasing, which is probably down to personal design preferences (although this silver is more convincing than the bleu I had seen reported on before). I can see and appreciate, however, the deliberate detailing on this and on that level I do enjoy looking at it. I am not one for quantitative scoring, but every once in a while the use of words falls short to express perhaps subtle differences in the quality experienced in separate reviews. I may even have forgotten one or two other recent micro releases that you've praised on similar grounds. I guess it means that the microbrand game is growing up and that's only to be applauded.
Well said Benjamin and excellent observation There are indeed micro's that are hitting way above and beyond what you'd expect to pay. Definitely grown up👍
Hard choices For me personally it’s the Pitzmann II. It’s movement is really a solid performer and the wearability was a little better than the Tuseno. That’s my personal choice 😊
Sometimes I surprise myself. I can hear a drummer, That's Gavin Harrison. I spotted that sweep, 28800 date at 6 position Selita 200. annnd it is. Gorgeous watch. I love your presentations.
Great video thanks. I've had my eye on this on the Facebook group and website, great to see a review. Appreciate it's a pre-production model, but is the date wheel off? I could just see the 2 for 20. Might just be the macro/angle.
Tusena makes cool watches with traits of several classics. My favourite is their Blackwater, although it seems to receive no love because I can't find reviews here in yt.
Interesting looking watch, must get a look at the other colours cos I'm not a fan of the silver dial and hands. Butterfly clasps are a no no too especially with no half links
Thank you for this video. I'd like to ask you which watch you think has more value for the money. Would you go for the Windseeker or for the Pitzmann 2?
I don't have any micro brand watches and would like to add one to my collection. one of the two or else I'll go for the Christopher Ward C60 Pro 300 as I love divers.
Hey Peter, I have a 16,75 cm wrist (aka small wrist syndrome) and i was wondering how you'd think the blue model would wear. I currently cut down my collection to a 36 mm Lorier falcon II (favorite everyday watch) and a seiko sarb035 and both wear fairly well. I can get away with a 42 mm diver but the windseeker just looks large on camera, yet in pictures it looks fine. I am torn because this watch in blue looks good and somewhat similar to my favorite watch: 38mm aqua terra, but i wont spent that much money on a watch. Ps: i think the thick bezel makes it look chuncky on camera.
If you go with the blue it will obviously wear smaller than this silver version If your ok with the Sarb035, this is a fraction bigger As for it being chunky, that’s the closeups It’s actually nice and thin The only concern would be lug to lug Compare the SeIko to this and see if this is similar in size Best of luck
It appears that there is some over-lap on the date wheel. Could just be the angle at which you filmed/shot the watch. Other than that concern, it does seem to tick all the right boxes.
What would make more sense? The Tuseno Windseeker or the Tissot Gentleman 40mm Automatic? Both are very nice watches and available at almost the same price. Tissot seems to have more name recognition.
Oh sh*t. I want this. I've been looking for a watch in this price range but everything is a diver and nothing has a screw-down crown etc. I'm really fussy about a unique dial - I don't care for the uniformity or the 'normal' that you see on everyone's wrist out and about. The clasp is stupid, and so are the lack of halflinks but 20mm lugs (which the 38mm Aqua Terra does NOT have) makes this a winner for strap compatibility.
It is beautiful, and I like the sapphire back case..I only wish they had gone with a better name,I don't know what tuseno refers to in swedish, but it sounds like a Mexican candy bar to me (no offence to Mexicans please!)..I would prefer a Noridic name,or something along the line they have named this series(Windseeker)
Do you get to keep the watch (the prototype or the later production version)? It would be interesting to know in terms of potential bias. Yes, the brands may not have any explicit say over your content, but if anything of value is exchanged, that adds a certain layer to any arrangement. Also, do you think a brand would continue to supply you with watches for review, if you slated one of their models?
You've seen many of my videos in the past, you should know my integrity by now. Nonetheless, what are your thoughts on this watch?..can you see any negatives or faults I might have missed?...if so, please share, as I am more than happy for the feedback cheers 👍
@@PeterKotsa I haven't actually. Your channel has popped up on occassions, and as I like watches, I've watched a couple of your videos. I think my questions were very fair and useful for transparency, and I'd ask them of any content creator I wanted to know a little more about. This watch doesn't interest me, so I've only watched a small bit of this video.
@@PeterKotsa Also, we can all be biased subconsciously, if certain conditions are present. It's very human, no matter how full of integrity we may see ourselves. I'm certainly not above it myself. It's just important to be aware of this as a content creator. What made me write you in the first place was your title, which seems a tad hyperbolic to me. Anyway. I'm not here to criticize. I work in media (and also run a small watch channel under another name) so the subject is interesting to me.
@@sardendibs I hear what you're saying. Of course everyone is capable of being subconsciously influenced by something free. This is not my first rodeo as you can see 😊 For me, generally I am a positive person and try to find the 'good' in things rather than nit pick every single fault. I am well aware there is not a perfect watch, but some watches bond with us more than others. This piece was a treat on the wrist for me and the only things that "bugged' me or I could see room for improvement I addressed Hope that helps, cheers
A few nitpicks make this one a no go for me. The case is a mm or 2 too large for my taste and the crown could be 1-1.2mm smaller in diameter. Then there's the lack of bracelet adjustability. Too bad.
I just don't like Sellita movements. They tend to be stiff to wind. I just don't like the feel of them. I have a few and the few I don't like the feel of are all Sellita
I mean as a ETA 28** clone grindy winding is also a 1:1 clone from ETA. While I haven't handled any ETA or Selita watch, I do have experience with PT5000 movements (chinese clone) and I can confirm they're grindy af.
@@PeterKotsa maybe OP means “squeaky” or slippery feeling. My Pelagos in comparison glides. Not a problem for me but most of my watches, SW200 and ETA 2824 have the same feel
They really needed to continue the engraving on the dial all the way up to the T and O of Tuseno, so close. Also the king planks of the teak deck inspired pattern are far too wide for my liking.
*This channel has become the finest wristwatch advertising agency ever. I really enjoy watching this publicity, nicknamed "content", it's much better than what most product producers pay advertising agencies to create.* 🤫 _Probably a lot less expensive, too._
Thank you for the feedback Joe. A few people confuse my enthusiasm and love for watches with content marketing Looking from the outside in, that’s completely understandable Would you prefer I don’t take a free watch for my time and effort I put in? I only ask this question, because that’s how I started this channel, I used my own watches or friends watches and tried to share my thoughts and experience by creating videos. As the channel has grown, companies began to offer sponsorship and free watches in order to compensate me for my time and effort Over the past 30 years I have been “paid” to photograph people, products and events, that’s my full time job (professional photography) Money or products do not sway me; I have been receiving them both all my career. I pride myself in trying to produce an excellent final product (visually speaking), however in the case of watches on YT, I also say it as I see it (the negatives) The fact that I receive some form of compensation to continue in this hobby, that's a huge bonus for me. Why?..because I don’t have to justify to my wife and kids the enormous amount of time I take off my full time paid job to complete these videos and remain in this hobby That’s how I see it and nothing else. I believe my enthusiasm and love for this hobby has grown and become more passionate over time and if I cannot express these feelings and emotions without being categorized or pigeon holed, well so be it. Like the old saying goes, “you can please some of the people some of the time, but can never please all of the people all of the time” ..btw I am not sharing this to judge you or anyone for that matter. I only say this because as I mentioned, looking from the outside in, its easy to make assumptions about people. Feel free to leave commentary as your heart see’s fit, that’s what this platform is designed for. Thanks again for sharing, I hope I shed some light on "who I am" as a professional and as a hobbyist. Living the dream (but in all humility) Be well
I really don't understand how these microbrands(and larger watchmakers) come out with gorgeous dials and a lot of personality, but it seems that every time is let down by generic handsets. Just boring handsets.....
Romper Room?...now thats bringing back the childhood memories 😂😂 Personally I LOVE round date windows (Muhle Glashutte SAR, Meistersinger) they just seem to work for me on certain models PS thanks for the flashback to the past Leon 😊
From its website: THE NAME, TUSENÖ, COMES FROM AN OLD BOOK OF CHARTS, REFERRING TO THE SWEDISH WEST COAST AS "THE COAST WITH THE THOUSAND ISLANDS" OR IN SWEDISH "KUSTEN MED DE TUSEN ÖARNA"
