Thank you for taking the time to explain these… I bought the pro for my TW200 based on your video.

Great video, thanks. You’ve helped me decide to order the Tusk D Flex Pro hand guards. You showing how they curved out is giving me confidence that they will work with the stock levers on my KLX230.

Yeah I just installed the standard MX D Flex. I'm interested in the D Flex Pros but my hands feel very claustrophohic in those wrap around bars. I'll probably try the pros on my KLR 650 in the spring

Hey KC, what kind of grip heaters did you install and how do you like them? I just bought a '23 klx 300 and want to do several of the upgrades you've done. Thanks.
@kcoutside7143

It’s the TUSK grip heater kit $20, allows you to install any type of grips you prefer, they work great, only complaint is the cheap plastic toggle switch, I replaced it with TUSK metal toggle switch $5. I have a video up installing them on ‘22 KLR 650, I think I even have a vid up on the klx300 install. Thanks for watching!

Stupid question, I have the same bike and about to install the same guards. Do you need to actually tap the end of the handlebar so that it’s threaded or can you just drill out all of that metal at the end of the handlebar? I see no need to leave anything threaded as the handlebar inserts for the tusk guards don’t thread into anything on the handlebar and instead simply expand within the bars as you tighten the screw; meaning, the screw doesn’t thread into anything but the flanges that expand inside the bar. Is that correct?

@kcoutside7143 Год назад
My bars were not OEM, so mine had nothing in the ends. You will have to tap the small hole or drill plug out completely. Yes the screw only threads into the expansion piece itself, it will expand against bar walls.

I’m guessing these work on the stock bars? I know it’s a pain in the ass to install bark busters on the stock bars.

Should be no issues with stock bars.

what size drill bit and tape did you use on the handle bars?
@kcoutside7143
@kcoutside7143 Год назад
I don’t have any info on that, I’m running Tusk 1 1/8” bars. No drilling required.

I was gonna suggest u try an 02 delete. I did it on my 250 before an EJK, I think it does almost as much as the tuner except they are $20-$28. U and richen your EFI with these without a tuner. Its just a resistor reading prime air/fuel ration to your ecu, bike rev's a lot quicker no lag from reading sensor. I just picked up another '18 250 Camo {second time buying one, love it that much LOL} and bro had exhaust/EJK on already but no sensor delete. I picked one up from a guy who makes them, plugged it in and instant difference. Plug sensor back in if u dont like it.

Will they fit on stock handlebars
@kcoutside7143
@kcoutside7143 Год назад
They make them with a 7/8” clamp, I have put them on other bikes with stock bars, but I never tried them on KLX stock bars.
