In this video I do a review of the Tusk Motorcycle Tire Changing Stand and Bead Breaker. I go over some pros and cons while using it to swap out a rear tire. The tire used in the video is a Shinko (216X) in a 140/80-18 and the mousse is a Nitro Mousse in a 120/80-18 size.
This stand can be purchase at www.rockymountainatvmc.com/ for $74.99.
The music in the video can be downloaded at www.bensound.com/

Maybe the welded ring is to drop a wheel stop into so you can use a tire removal bar such as no-mar without having the wheel rotate on the stand

Thanks for the review! I have a machine with a built-in bead breaker for my ST1300 so I was just looking at the stand for my dirt bike tires, as my machine won't work for smaller diameter axles. This looks better than the top of a 5 gallon bucket so I'm gonna get the stand!

Great video. I’m about to assemble mine. I think I’ll bolt it to a pallet for extra stability

I have said machine for about 7 years now...1 THING YOU DO IS BOLT TO STAND TO A TABLE OR FLOOR and the other is USE YOUR LOCK DOWN FLY NUT ON TIRE TO HLOD IN PLACE...if he did he would have an additional 2 inches from bead breaker and not needed to work that hard also when putting tire on USE BEAD BRAKER TO HOLD DOWN TIRE IN MODDLE DROP SO WHEN U PRY OVER YOUR NEW TIRE IT IS EASY AND USE LUBBY LUBE :) Your all welcome

Would it better to have mount hire like some of the others. Looks like it would work my back.... I’m old

I would say it depends. I use it for changing mousses which sometimes require a good bit of leverage. For my purposes I wouldn’t go higher than knee height. For changing tubes I think you could get away with table height.

my cruiser has 15 and 16 in wheels... and apparently it doesn't do 15's? due to the top ring??? any way you figure to work around that?

Would this be worth it to change out sport atv tires? Thinking about picking one of these up.

Great video, very helpful! One question: on the right side of the screen in front of the blue box, up until 4:04 of the video, you have what appear to be two tools that I believe are supposed to help seat the tire. You then remove it at 5:02. Wondering if you could explain how it's used or what it's called. I see them on Amazon but can't seem to find any instructions. Thanks for any insight you can offer!

Would t it make it easier to put it on a higher stand so you do not have to work on the floor.?

Thanks a lot for this. I'm shopping around for one of these at the moment. I'm leaning towards the bolt together version because I have to stick this into checked luggage. Do you think this would fit into a large suitcase? Does the lower piece of square tubing detach from the rings. Thanks again.
@1SevenZero
@1SevenZero 5 лет назад
So after I explained to my wife why I needed our largest suitcase and she got done looking at me like I was crazy I tested it. My answer is yes it fit in our large suitcase.... BARELY!!! It was pushing on the sides, and I would have to unbolt the center bar that the lever is mounted on. So for your scenario I would recommend the bolt together design, not the welded style I have. Definitely measure your suitcase first. The bottom ring was 20” across and the center bar for the lever is 26” long. Those measurements are of course for the welded one. I don’t know if the measurements are the same for the bolt together style.

I sure wish you hadn't sped through the part where you actually get the tire off and back on the wheel. I’m not a professional like you, so I need every bit of help that I can get!

😁 trust me.... there are plenty of people out there better suited to demo the tire change, but if you want to call me a pro I will take that compliment.

What is there a spot that holds the 1st iron that you used as a bead holder?
@1SevenZero
@1SevenZero 5 лет назад
Yes. On this model there is actually 2. One on each side of the post the lever is attached to. Near the beginning when I show the photo of the tool holder that gets in the way you can see them.

During watching the video, it looked like mounting it to a 4X4 piece of 3/4 plywood would help?
@1SevenZero
@1SevenZero 6 лет назад
It would definitely help. This model even has the mounting tabs already, so no mods would need to be made. I wanted to keep it a little more portable, so that is why I haven't.

Mike Fawc I am really looking forward to trying it on the Harley tires. I know it takes about 1000 lbs of force to break the bead on my road king tire so i am skeptical

so if it was getting something like this... or a motionpro beadpro breaker set for a first timer which would you recommend? seems like this would be nice to have but more so later on after you've already got some breakers
@1SevenZero
@1SevenZero 6 лет назад
I’ll start by saying I have never personally used the Motion Pro Bead Pro. In my opinion they could be a great addition to a tool kit for on the trail. They would work on a trail side repair and in the shop. That said I’ve always just used my kickstand or foot to accomplish breaking a bead on the trail. Now I run mousses so I’m not having to worry about flats on the trail. All of my tire changing is done in the shop. Thus Why I went with the Tusk. If You already have tire irons in your tool kit I would lean towards the Tusk, because you already have the means to change a tire. If you don’t have tire irons, start with the Motion Pro.

I wish they made one like this on a waist high stand. I'm to old and decrepid to be down on my knees.
