used to have the GPX 250 two stroke , now I just got a Beta 350 RR and the D606 tires suck , the bike is so capable and I have a hard time keeping rear from sliding out , if I remember right I had a D606 on my two stroke 20 years ago with similar issues. I live about 45 minutes from RMATV , so I could easily get one of these setups for the Beta , as this is the kind of riding I do and we have alot of rocky , sandy , gravel roads down this way in Southern Utah . I was kind of unsure on the fat tire front , but alot of guys love it . Good review !

My GPX is now gone also, I picked up a Husky TE250 for this season which I luv... You're right, the power and handling difference is crazy, good crazy 😎 The Husky came with a new set of Shinko's, up front is a 216 80/100-21 There's a lot of "getting used to" with a new bike so Its hard to judge tires(especially since I'm still getting the suspension setup) but here in rocky, muddy New England I think I like the Fatty better and will go back to one soon.

I really had no riding problems with the recon front. So fat lots of grip, maybe a little vague feeling but I'm not sensitive to that. Smash rocks as hard as you can it's that big and cushioned. I didn't like how it didn't really fit in the wheel chocks in my trailer or fit the biggest nitro mousse even new it was a little soft so I wrapped it up with a tube to effectively shrink the inside of the tire. I might go back to these with freaking prices going out of control.

I've been trying a few other tires up front since this video(I don't know why we always have to think something else is going to be better... instead of just sticking with what works 🙄) I was going to get another Recon fatty and call it done, but I saw RM ATV has a new Tusk tire set called CrossBite... a front was on sale for $45, of course, I had to order one....🤣

I had Recons with standard Nitromousse front and rear on the YZ450FX that I had (sold it). They were great for riding in Maine. I plan on doing the same with the FSE250E and 300R.

As you know... you won't be disappointed. I won't be even looking at any other tires for a long time to come.

@@painsrides3616 Awesome videos you make! I found your channel while researching GPX bikes, now I'm subscribed. My wife and I have a 250E and 300R on order. We've got a couple more weeks until they arrive.....the wait is killing me!

@@fredbunkley5604 Thanks, much appreciated. I had the Pitster Pro XTR250(very similar to the 250E) before the FSE. The Fast Ace suspension it had was rough...the 250E with it SZC legs will be a much better machine. Anyway, both are good solid dirt bikes, with nice grunty power for our New England trails.

I wonder how they wear? I always thought those tires were more for out west?

If it wears like the rear, this Fatty will last as long, if not longer than tires costing more than double its price.

That tire did okay everywhere. But Im on a Husky now running a Shinko 216 Fatty and it's better

Are you using the 110/100 or 120/100 Rear? Any thought on which would match up better with the Recon Fatty?
@painsrides3616
@painsrides3616 4 года назад
Ive always run a 110 in the rear. My bike seems to handle great with that setup. No idea if or how a 120 would change that, sry..

I have no problem with this GPX. Its been a good machine, hung in there with the big boy bikes and is fun to ride, just don't expect it to be over the top awesome, but for the cost they are hard to beat.

Same as mountain bike tires(and woman) a little extra "plump" goes a long way for comfort & smoothing things out 😁
