Hello sir, just got my Tusey screen in the mail. Seems like the white screen is not attached to the frame. Do I attache the velcro screen before or after I inflate the frame? I want it ready for the 4th.

I've been wanting a screen similar to this for a long time. I have a 110" inside and want to go _much_ bigger, so 14' would never do. Many of the models of different companies on Amazon with 15, 16, 17 feet claimed are shaped in such a way that the screen of another's 15 could be smaller than this tusy 14'. So I've had to be a little picky about the model - (*fyi, models that sit higher are made to wave more by the strength of winds, which is annoying on a projector screen) - and I have been held back by the $200-$300 prices for the ones of sufficient size, quality, and shape for me since I've been dropping into Amazon to check since pre-Christmas 2017. the few times I have checked since just before Christmas 2017 - but: A few minutes ago, after selecting "used" condition on the left of the screen to filter the amazon results, I was able to find one of these for $123. The 16' model with a 156" screen. An important note on "used" equipment for any and all readers: I was not in the market for a used screen, so why would I filter for "used"? I have bought many items, in the ballpark of 5 - 10, which are listed as used and sold by the seller named "Amazon Warehouse" and have a quality listed as "Like New." In my experience, that just means "new, or else at least as far as we can see, indistinguishable from new." If the box of a brand new item gets scratched in transit which disrupts the pretty picture on the front, that item goes straight into this file. I bet you thought that when you bought those fancy Bose headphones, wore em for a day, then decided they weren't quite good enough to justify the price tag so you sent them back for a refund, an Amazon employee looked it once over, tried em on to make sure they worked, wiped em down and put them right back in the box or into a new box to be resold at an open-box discount. _Nope_ . They were sent straight off to liquidation with the rest of the returns. Those headphones wouldn't be good enough for "Like New" as far as Amazon is concerned. So keep your eyes peeled for these particular items. When I receive this $123 screen the day after tomorrow, it's going to be in a box still taped and sealed, with one of its corners dented in or some other such nonsense that (as a sane person), I would not pay $75 to fix. I got a Tusy, 16' total. It was the kind that sits on the floor. It was like "nozco" -- one of the brands where the screen is perfectly flat without creases. Inflated, it crossed my entire emptied living room, pressed against the ten foot ceiling. But there's a problem. The black coloring rubbed off on the screen. It looked like it had been dragged through a tarry black-asphalt parking lot -- 100% unacceptable. And I could see the white imprint of the word "TUSY" stamped in white on the black "smudges" -- well "smudges" isn't right, because smudges are small. More like blackened "sections" of the screen. If the material rubs off during transit, in the box, I don't know what they could possibly do to fix it. So you need to call them and talk about what I said, and ask them to send you one that is made of a material that never rubs off on the screen. FYI, if the few extra bucks don't matter to you, I'd just go with nozco. It's a little more expensive for the same model, but you know you're getting quality.

@@lancetschirhart7676 Hm, it's possible the version that sits on the floor (an thus has a larger view-able screen size) is made from a different material than the one I received with the two separate feet. My screen didn't have any smudges on it when I received it. Of course, Amazon has a pretty good return policy if there's something wrong with the item and good sellers are usually willing to work with you to address any problems. The air pump is included with the screen. It is built-into the fabric and not removable. If you purchase the screen, the blower will come with it. I need to know what strength of a projector you need to use with it. Can you use a mini projector, smartphone projector, or do I have to buy a good one?

I used a mid-tier budget projector ~$200 (geni.us/X66EUQo [Amazon Affiliate Product Link]) and I thought it was decent. It had 1080p native resolution and a 3000 lumen LED bulb, so not super bright, but bright enough at the screen's full projection size at night. I don't think mini/micro/pico projectors would work (e.g. pocket or smartphone size) because they usually don't put out enough lumens to look great any bigger than 50 inches.

Are you referring to the projector I used with this inflatable screen? The projector used in this review video is a WiFi capable 1080p projector and any of the ones available at Amazon would be compatible with the inflatable screen: geni.us/X66EUQo [Amazon Affiliate Product Link] The screen itself does not have any display capabilities, as it is not an electronic device. It's basically a big inflatable balloon with white fabric in the middle on which you can project an image using a separate projector.

Our screen came with black smudge marks _ probably from being packed with the black supports. How do we machine wash this screen? Can it go into a dryer? Thank you

First, remove the screen from the inflatable frame by separating the Velcro. Then spot treat the areas with a stain remover. I recommend machine washing on the gentle cycle using enough detergent for a small load of laundry. I would hang dry the screen, though you could probably just reattach to the inflatable frame if it's only a little damp, blow it up and allow it to air dry in the frame. Just don't put it away damp, otherwise it will get moldy and look worse than before you washed it!

@@ReviewedByPhil I can tell you have not experienced this yourself. I had the same problem, tried like hell to clean it however I could, hours by hand, in the washing machine (which caused it to come out with a ball of loose thread that holds the black border to the screen, and I never made headway. The only option is to call ahead of time or something and make sure they give you one with black material that doesn't rub off. I assumed they swallowed the losses and ordered a different kind of material right away, then manufactured a new batch, because of all of these indelible smudges.

@@lancetschirhart7676 Sorry to hear about your issue. Yeah, you can see in my video, the screen I received didn't have any marks on the screen, so how hard/easy it is to wash out factory smudges is unknown to me. Of course, I only assumed it could be cleaned off and provided a recommendation based on the information I had; it is disappointing to hear that this is easier said than done. The only time I had to clean mine was when I swatted a moth on the screen and it left a smudge, but I was able to get that out with a damp sponge and a little dish soap.

Once it's anchored down it doesn't move at all. The blower works great and blows the screen up very quickly. Never had a problem. Just make sure air inflow is not blocked and the section is zipped up fully when inflating.

Any projector, really, that can cast an image up to 120" diagonal. The one I used in the video is this one: geni.us/Il42iLP and it's not that expensive compared to a brand name one like Sony or Epson. I recommend that the projector have at least a 1080p native output resolution for the best picture quality.

Yes, the audio typically will be output through the projector or another externally connected speaker hooked up to the projector or your video source (DVD player, laptop, gaming system, etc.)

It's audible, but like more desk fan and not a leaf blower, plus viewers tend to sit far enough from the screen that it's not super loud. If you have a speaker that gets loud enough it'll drown out the fan noise completely.

Since this is a fabric screen and not an electronic device, you won't connect a movie directly to the screen. Instead, you would use a video projector, which would display the movie using light passed through a lens onto the screen, as shown at 3:34; you can see my projector in the lower left hand corner of the video. @@rexmoline3810 Yes, I only needed 1 speaker as it's 50 Watts and it's usually just a few of us (2-6 ppl). However, that speaker does have the option to pair with a second unit for true stereo playback. If you have a big space or plan to have a large audience that might be more suitable.

The screen quality is okay, but the fabric tends to hold onto stains though, even though it is washable, so I'm extra careful about not letting the white part touch dirt, grass, or smoosh bugs on it. If ants or moths land on it, I try and slip a sheet of paper under them and flick them off instead. The inflatable part of the screen feels pretty durable, though I imagine with a sharp rock or thin piece of metal could puncture it if you drag it across hard enough. It can be patched though because the material is synthetic, a nylon/vinyl sticker or heat activated patch could work.

I got mine at Amazon, but this particular brand has sold out. You can try this one which is the same size: geni.us/92Ynr [Amazon Affiliate Product Link] but has a slightly different design that uses snap buckles to attach the screen instead of Velcro. Or you can get a different size as some larger ones may still be in-stock.

I don't care for the blower noise especially during quiet parts of a show and so far I haven't found one that is quiet enough so I'd rather use a quality blowup type.

I find the continuous blower screen best suited for when you use it with a powerful outdoor speaker in a wide open outdoor setting. For smaller gatherings I prefer to use a static vinyl or fabric screen on a weighted metal stand, like this one: geni.us/N9QSW [Amazon Affiliate Product Link]

Thanks for your comment! I would guess that price and portability are the main factors why someone might buy this over a big screen TV. For example, I packed the screen and a projector for a trip to a cabin upstate and we watched movies outdoors with my nieces and nephews by a campfire. It wouldn't have been feasible to bring the big screen TV with us in our car. Sure, the viewing quality isn't as good as a 4K TV, but that's really a limiting factor of the projector. I do agree that using the full diagonal of the unit including the "frame" rather than mentioning the viewable screen size is misleading and perhaps disingenuous, but that's why I made it a point to give both measurements in this review, so folks know what they are getting into without all the marketing fluff.
