The ONLY thing I would change about your Van Gogh (my favorite Impressionist painter) is to me it seemed another bead could go on the safety pin. And if I were to put another one on, it would be SKY BLUE !! What a WONDERFUL eye your have for artist placement! Great video!
You are right these little beauties would make awesome keepsake boxes for jewelry, baby memories, seashells, needles & pins, and on and on!! Christmas tree goodies/ornaments !!!!
The altered tin idea is a great one. Enjoyed your spin on it! Thanks for the excellent instructions. I am enjoying viewing your videos...Thank you very much!
How fun! I have one to work on myself. Wizard of Oz if my all time favorite movie. I just love the Dorothy one and ruby slippers charm!! So darling! Thanks for video!
Thank you so very much! I have been saving tins ( large ones) and I think your ideas are so beautiful. Please know how excited I am to have an idea now about what to do with them to make them little packages!
Omg the red slippers are just adorable. I guess I need to start eating ALTOIDS. YET ANOTHER RABBIT HOLE YOU HAVE SENT ME DOWN, EXCEPT YOU TURNED IT INTO THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD! Tfs💕🧚♂️💐 Cj. These are just stunningly beautiful Liz!
Oh my goodness...I cried through the whole video. You are the kindest person ever, thank you so much for making this Van Gogh tin for me and for the tutorial. I'm definitely making a micro-journal and that sari gorgeousness inside will be perfect for it. Thanks so much, my friend. You're amazing!!!!!!
Christine Riley, such a gorgeous tin. I've never heard of a micro-journal but I sure like how this is going so far. Lots of ideas are running through my head.
Amazing talent! I like that you're not completely covering the tins inside and out. That's the part that frustrates me so much when I try and alter an Altoid Mint tin. It's so maddening when the lid won't shut. Thank you or inspiring me to keep try your way!
I am going to make this for my granddaughter- she will love the 2 sizes - I just want to do so many wonderful things shown before the 22nd century- it was a joy watching this beautiful video. Thank you - margy
Adorable. I love anything small like this. These would be cute to do a juvenile theme for grandkids to put all their little treasures in. Or even fun for Christmas with a few little goodies inside. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration!!!!
How FUN!! I've been doing mine with scrapbook paper but great idea to do them with some fabric. Great way to use up my little scraps! Thanks for sharing!
Oh Mrs. Cog, you lucky woman that Mr. Loves to help you Craft 😍 Have you met/ seen Tim Holtz, the designer? The things his followers make with tiny tins! 😱
These are wonderful! I do love them! I was surprised that the Fab Tac held everything down on the tins, especially without any type of sanding or prep work on the tins. Thanks so much for sharing. 😃
Hi Liz, Ya cracked me up when in my mind's eye I saw you outside throwing hot Lipton's at the cheesecloth! I love it . My husband helps with so many things for crafting and arts--finds me things, tells me they have this or that at the mission, and gets everything on my list that is findable. I just bought an Altoid mini at Walmart (peppermint) a few days ago. But so many things are gone from our local stores now. And when I find it, I get it whether I need it then or not. But I admit I seem to be collecting an overabundance of art supplies, mag pics, stencils, stamps, sequins, and , and...lol I love your boxes--they are darling, creative, and useful! I have saved a bunch of licorice pastel tins as I bought a case like your Altoids from Amazon. Now I'm excited at yet another project, oh my. thank you for being a lovely. patient teacher.
Oh my, this is a wonderful idea! 🤗 I knew if I saved my boxes, there would be something I could make with them. You give wonderful instructions. Thank you sooo much for sharing! 💖🌸
Thank you .. Thank you so very much for sharing this fantastic use for Altoid tins, my dear sis gave me a box full of her sons Altoid tins collected from all over the world and in Australia for years, knew I wanted to do something with them (like in a hidden compartment in an altered book, but your idea gives me endless thoughts on what can be done.. you are magic xx so happy I subscribe to your channel
So amazing! I have tins from my mints and I also found Amazon sells plain tins by the case so I have those as well. I need to get crafting! Thanks for the tutorial. Very inspirational! AnaMaree 💜
well now, isn't this fun! i had a quick peek at your Altered Tins Pinterest Board. wow!! who knew there were so many things one can do with these! and here i only thought of them as storage for mini ephemera and watercolors. yours are absolutely darling Liz, thanks so much for sharing, i bet Amazon will be wondering why Altoids are flying off the shelves!! lol
Hi Liz - I love the oz tins, Tracie will be thrilled to get this! and I have applique envy, the ones you find are so flexible, love them - and thank you so much for the sizes, I will be looking for tins when I am shopping :) xxx
Now I hav a use for the Altoid tins I have been hoarding! My husband likes them and saves me the tins. He likees the mini ones to carry with them. We get them at Target byy the checkouts. Thanks for the idea, AS if I needed another one! Debby oung
So pretty! I’m now adding this to my to do craft list!! Mrs Cog, where do you get your beautiful sari silk? The colors are so vibrant & rich! Thank you for great videos! 😀🤗
Thank you Debbie. I buy my sari silk ribbons from www.etsy.com/shop/VictorianGypsygirl and some specialty silks from www.etsy.com/shop/Craftise, I've been happy with the service from both. :-)
Oh that Cog, he is amazing at finding good stuff! Spearmint sounds yummy! These are cute, I'm wondering what I might find over here that would work. Not much comes in tins any more.
I love your videos and your art! Is there any way you could increase the volume? I have it all the way up but you are so soft-spoken they are sometimes difficult to hear. Thank you!
Have you considered painting your tin first? That way the sides of your tin will blend in with your lace trims. Of course if the contrast is what you're going for then turquoise is beautiful.
I also can hardly hear you. I even went into my settings to see if something was wrong. I listen to you to tube all the time and never have this problem. It’s like you are mumbling softly to yourself.
This was just gorgeous!! I’ve never seen the mini tins before - how adorable!!! Do you put anything on the bottom or leave it as is? Thank you for sharing! 💜
Hello there. I've just come upon your post and I absolutely love everything. I've been looking at your crappie dying and everything I just love everything you do. Could you please tell me where I could purchase anything with the Wizard of Oz for Altoids tins. I belong to a group call the questors and we're having a Gathering in October with the theme being The Wizard of Oz. I already have tens but I would like to find out where I can purchase the items to decorate them with. Thank you very much.
I love your slant on altering these tins. I'd like to subscribe to your channel but I have a problem hearing you. I have my volume turned up to the maximum. I can tell you're a soft spoken person so I don't know if you need to have your speaker closer to you or if you need to speak louder. Anyway I'll give another of your videos a try and see if it is maybe just this one. I love your Van Gogh
