@@japkiratsingh930 Thanks for the reply Japkirat, I will give it a try ! The SP107E does seem to react a little too much to the mid/upper mid range and not enough to the low end. I might make a little simple switch that switches between this bass version and the normal version, just bypassing the resistors and capacitor.
@@japkiratsingh930 Agreed, it seems to work well . . . . I just ordered a 1uF 50V capacitor from eBay . . . and I ordered some 33k resistors, but I wasn't sure which kind I should get, 0.25W ? 0.5W ? 1W ? 2W ? (etc) . . . I guess that's the amount of watts they can get rid of through heat before they burn out ? Anyhow I went with 0.5W, I guess if that burns out I just need to order a higher value resistor ?
This is great. Could you help me with the following projects? I work with learning disabled and other special needs children. 1) I would like to create a 6’ tall by 5” diameter column which would be used to train children to speak, pronounce words and sounds, etc. The column would essentially react like a spectrum analyzer, with rings of LEDs rising to the top of the column, then falling back down. 2) In a similar fashion, I would like to build a 6’ X 6’ wall mounted multi-band LED Spectrum Analyzer I have been told that these devices would require something called AGC (automatic gain control) so that the rising lights would automatically deliver their full performance as the microphone hears sounds from whispers to loud voices or singing. Can I accomplish this with the SP107E music controller? Would I need to use more than one SP107E Controllers? Will I need to add the AGC feature to this Controller? Is there perhaps another type of controller capable of a) handling the greater volume of LEDs, b) supplying the required voltage c) having the AGC feature built in?
Great video and useful to see the frequency sweep.Does it treat the left and right separately? I want to make left and right channel VU meters and this looked promising so I searched and found your video.
Dear day, thank you for your video and all the devices that you show, I have a question, how and what to power this WS2812B tape, Thank you, good luck.
Hello PLATINUM, I have two questions: 1) Are the connections of the +5V and GND made in parallel? 2) Is it necessarily using Bluetooth or can it be connected from the Controller to the speaker? Thank you
Hi I connected 72 in one row and 10 columns but does not work as a spectrum. I have wired it just like in your video. Can you suggest me something. All leds work but does not synchronise properly.
You must set it in the LED CHORD app. seg = 10 (if this uses 10 columns) and pixel set to 72 (if this 72 dot in one row) total = 720 leds. Check your LED installation again. All LEDs are installed in series
@@PLATINUMKIT bang saya pakai 12 v..
Cuma nyala aja.. Led nya

You can use as many as you need - it depends on various factors, for example certain controllers can only control a certain amount of LEDs, I believe this SP107E can control up to 960 LEDs . . . so it's not much use saying you want to build something that is 2' x 4' as no one knows what kind of LED strip you are using . . . . 30 LEDs/m ? 60 LEDs/m ? 144 LEDs/m ? . . . . if you are using - for example - a 60 LEDs/m LED strip then you can run about 16 meters from one controller . . . but then you will need to power all those LEDs . . . etc etc, I'd say start small, buy yourself a meter or so of 5V LED strip, a simple controller, maybe this must controller, strip an old USB lead down to the two power leads so you can power the strip from a USB port or charger . . . it's all cheap, and easy to set up.
PLATINUM thx man! I‘m still in doubt.... 960 leds times 0,06A for each led means over 57A power from controller at max brightness. I don’t think the controller is capable of it without adding extra power...
@@leerzeichen1910 I've run 288 LEDs with this controller, bouncing around to music, in various colour modes, and looking at my bench power supply, it never really draws that much, surprisingly only around 3-4 amps at 5V . . . . you'd only really see 0.06A for each LED when on white (R,G and B at 100%), left on for a while (not flashing intermittently like in most patterns) and with the brightness setting set to maximum, I find the brightness at max is way to bright, it sort of blows the colours out, they all go a little washed out, a little too white, even half brightness is insanely bright, even in daylight . . . the current seems to track the APPs brightness setting really closely, a 100% strip at - say 1amp - lowered to 50% brightness will register around 0.5amp . . . . and remember individual colours like just RED or BLUE will only draw 0.02A, and when the brightness is not set to 'kill' more like ~0.01A . . . . etc etc, basically these LEDs seems to behave well, handling lots of light without any real power issues.
Ini ga bisa di slow karena memang sudah program seperti itu. dan jumpernya dari pabrik sudah ada saya belum pernah coba melepaskannya. Sy rasa ini ga berfungsi apa2
@@Strangeworries The SP170E can drive 960 LEDs - bear in mind each LED is really 3 LEDs (R,G,B), so in reality it is driving 2880 LEDs!! But it's better to think of each R,G,B array as 1 LED . . . . so, 960.
Get an old USB lead . . . . cut off one end (the end that doesn't go into your computer/charger) . . . expose the 4 wires inside, snip off the GREEN and WHITE wires, you don't need these . . . then the RED (+5V) goes to the controller's +5V input, the BLACK goes to GND ('ground') . . . this gives you a 5V power supply ! : )
I was highly suspicious how such low cost item is having computational power to perform Fourier transform on audio signal to display proper spectrum bands on led matrix. From your frequency sweep test now I know it's a junk product as far as Spectrum analyser capability is concerned. It is just doing random kicks on a random column. Not useful.
it was doing better job in my test ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eD5r-VsQCOQ.html but still bad, hopefully there will be a better model soon, for led strips and vu is good.
This thing is crap. It simply converts the intensity of the Microphone / AUX input to a direct LED trigger signal. No FFT or seperate Filters involved. A cheap and wayyy better Alternative is the MSGEQ7 coupled with Arduino
hey dummy! I mean FlaserGames. Is this video a DIY tutorial on how to make a spectrum analyzer? I'm pretty certain that he debunks the manufacturer claim that this is a true spectrum analyzer and then goes into state that this is a fine innexpensive alterantive to having to program multiple boards for the simple effects of a vu meter. But wait theres more, he kicks it into a new realm by adding a bass filter. So as the author doesnt deserve this BS negative Know it All vibe in his comment section. Im going to state that you are absolutley right in your statement, but your statement does not beliong in this forum and by posting it, disrespected Platinum and everyine that reads these and enjoys the content. So I'm going to apolgize for you because maybe you were thinking you were on another page. He's sorry everyone that he is a female cleansing product.
